Pokemon Go (4 Viewers)

I believe it does net more coins up to 10
Every gym you have a pokemon in when you hit collect will be counted up to a max of 10.

So if you have 2 in gyms (When you hit collect), you'll get 20 coins (2x10) and 1000 exp (2x500)

I try to grab a couple gyms in the AM on the way to work and then immediately cash them in, they never last 21 hours.

Trying for 5+ gyms can be risky as you are trying to take over gym #5, people take over your gyms #1 and #2.

I'm happy with my 20 coins a day for now, there's just no way to hold a gym for long.  I always place a mid range pokemon in there anyway, as it will likely be taken over soon by a different color.

ETA, Once you hit collect, you cannot collect again for at least 21 hours.

And then the pokemon will disappear after 15 minutes?

There's this spot at my park where I usually get a psyduck, I might try to find out if he follows this hourly schedule.

Does increased foot traffic speed up that hourly schedule? Increase the number of spawns? At the mall I can't walk 30 seconds without seeing something.
Yes, despawn rates seem to be 15 minutes although I have read that some might be longer. I can't confirm. I have also read theories that increased cell activity could make a difference (in timing and species) but again, this has not been confirmed from what I have found.

I am guessing that the mall naturally has a ton of spawn spots.

I've been doing something similar, and trying to get to 3 gyms before hitting collect.  That way, at 30 coins per day, or 150 per work week, I get enough coins for 1 extra incubator each week.  Or I could just spend $10 and get enough coins for 8 incubators and not put in all the time.

:bag:  I know.

BTW, I gave up using the curveball.  Now that they gave back the good throws bonuses, Just throwing it straight and trying to get a Nice, Great or Excellent throw makes up for the bonuses and I use a lot less balls that way.

Nice = 10XP Bonus

Great = 50XP Bonus

Excellent = 100XP Bonus

I probably get a Nice 1 out of 4, Great 1 out of 7, Excellent 1 out of 20.

I find that if I begin a throw from the side of the screen, it sometimes registers as a curveball. I'll tilt my phone and throw it straight and I get a curveball bonus.

Huh... I feel like I'm more accurate with a curveball.. Hitting similar nice/great type bonus rates as above.  Plus no random curves which suck. I throw curves on everything but tap-ins (i.e. Sub 50cp Pidgey and other close tosses)

One thing about hatching the eggs, if you have the breakable incubators, save them for the 10k eggs and churn through the 2k eggs with the infinity incubator.  You'll get more total eggs hatched before needing to buy another.

Well,  I'm out.  This last update made the game unplayable on my phone.  Yesterday I evolved 15 creatures,  and the game froze /crashed every single time.  So I would evolve,  game froze,  exit,  force stop,  reload,  evolve next guy,  repeat.  Every single time. Not one of my evolves went through the entire animation.

And now the game is freezing when I'm not even doing anything.  Just hanging out waiting for a spawn on a lured pokestop. I can't go more than 5 minutes without the game freezing.

Probably because I'm on a Galaxy S3 and Google Play says that phone isn't supported. But, until this last update I was at least able to play.  Now? Completely broken.

How are all the grown-ups doing in here?
Doing well! Thanks for asking.

The patio of my ice cream parlor is a gym. When I find it has a lot of strong pokemon in it, I use my 23 level trainer to win it, and defend it with a 10cp Pidgey. Just a few minutes ago one of my girl cashiers tells me one of the little kids eating ice cream was like "I might get it this time.... I might get it this time.... I might.... I might.... I might.... YES!!!!!!"

I have caught 1240 pokemon, and visited 1177 pokestops.

Looks like for every pokemon you want to catch plan on visiting an equal amount of pokestops... unless you want to buy balls.
515 caught

582 stops

Level 19

I recently went went ball farming and have around 250  . Time to go catch some more.

Love doing this. My 13cp squirtle is my designated man for that job. Dude has been kicked out of more gyms than my meathead college roommate.

I have an 11cp Mankey, 19cp Hitmonlee, a 29cp Dewgong, and a 80cp Digit. These might be common elsewhere, but I've only seen one of each here. I might start putting those in there to make it more interesting than a pidgey or a weedle like I've been doing.

I do have to say, seeing a little tiny weedle on top of a gym looks funny.

definitely losing interest in this game.  Level 21 and have caught 861 pokemon.  Out of those, 478 are flying type, which means 55% of my catches are pidgeys, zubats or spearows (throw in a few venomoths and doduos).  It's getting tedious and I just see the same pokemon all the time.  I have seen 76 different pokemon and caught 75.  I feel like for this much effort I should have better progress

They started banning bots which led to a zillion accounts coming up for sale.  Level 33 can be had for 15 bucks I'm told. Level 30 for 10.

about to use a lucky egg to move into level 20/21. my kids want to use some stardust to power up an Eevee and a Shellder before their evolves. Gonna cost me a ton of daily rat and pidgey grinding, but they really want a few 1200+ cp to battle with.

how often will I find something that powerful in the wild at level 21? I've never seen a Lapras or Snorlax, and they dominate the local gyms.

I hit level 20 and started finding 900ish CP Pokes, so at 21 I would imagine it would get into the 1200 range. At 19 I never found much over 600. The two I got in the 900 range were a Dodrio and a Tangela.

I figure those high CP Snorlaxes and Dragonites probably belong to spoofers, right?

The Snorlaxes could be hatched from eggs, and usually hatch at a high CP level, but you can't hatch Dragonites - so very likely to be spoofers unless there are a bunch of Dratini where you live.

There are zero Dratini here, yet I saw a gym today led by a CP2980 Dragonite. Took that BS down and added my CP60 Lickitung. I hope he saw it.

You can legitimately catch rare stuff in the wild. It's all about where you're playing. I've twice played at popular spots with 3 or more overlapping active lures. First time I caught a dratini, gengar, wartortle and some other pretty good stuff. The second time I caught a 1300 cp rhydon, graveler and a couple machops among other stuff. This was in like an hour or two each time. If you're hitting up those spots frequently or playing for extended periods you're going to catch some good pokes. I don't doubt that some of the dragonites I see in gyms were caught without outright cheating.

My son - seems like he was Level 19 or 20 at the time - caught a 1517 Snorlax on one of our neighborhood walks. Stuff definitely spawns randomly.

I've never caught anything higher than 645 cp.  Never even seen one spawn higher than that,  and I made it to level 20.

Odd. He also has caught an 1169 Pinsir, a 925 Tauros, and a 919 Pinsir. Don't remember if those were at stops or on walks.

Level 23 here, I think I've only seen two or three CP 1000+ pokemon in the wild. Pinsir, Tauros, and maybe a Rapidash.

My seven year old has a 1092  Watergun fwiw.  She has cried the last couple of days because my son caught two Pikachu and hatched one?   She really wants a Pikachu.  He's level 22 I think. She's 14?  I have no idea what any of this means, I just keep driving them all over R.I.

Why do you all want Pikachu?  I've caught 23 of them... honestly one of the more common pokemon I encounter.
Probably the most iconic pokemon in the game, even though they're really not that good. As with most pokemon, their availability seems very regional. Rare but not unheard of here, practically nonexistant in other locations.
