Yeah, and it almost got up to 70 yesterday and is supposed to be in the mid 60s by Friday through the weekend. But it is butt cold today. We are expecting UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW. This town will be shutdown if we get that much and I am sure there isn't a loaf of bread or gallon of milk to be had anywhere.
If radar is to be believed we are about 2 hours from snow fall. I have heard from some Rock Hill folks they are already getting flakes. And I heard from a couple of customers in the eastern part of the state that they are getting hammered right now. Of course they are looking at 5 inches or more total.Yeah, and it almost got up to 70 yesterday and is supposed to be in the mid 60s by Friday through the weekend. Kids got early dismissal today, which is awesome when working from home. My oldest gets home last at 4pm and based on the fact that not a single flake has come down, they could have easily had normal dismissal with no issues at all. Really dumb. So, they get a half day and most likely a whole day off tomorrow for diddly.

Not a single flake until almost 2 hours after the middle school bus would have dropped him off (they get out after elementary and high school), yet he was let out last 3 hours early. Thank goodness he got home with 5 hours to spare before that first flake melted on the ground. There was no accumulation on the roads until it got dark.NCCommish said:If radar is to be believed we are about 2 hours from snow fall. Drove in to work today. My recommendation to everyone else is stay home. I probably should have. Secondary roads haven't been touched even major ones like Arrowwood. That thing was a skating rink. Not even sure I am going to be able to get anything to eat around here today. This is going to suck I think. I should have let my wife win the argument and stayed home. Not a single flake until almost 2 hours after the middle school bus would have dropped him off (they get out after elementary and high school), yet he was let out last 3 hours early. This will be our first snow of the year, no idea how much we will get, most likely 1-2 inches, yet with holidays, cold weather delays, early dismissals, teach work days, my kids have been to school 12 days in the last 28 weekdays. One tiny snowfall in 28 week days and not a single minute below 10 degrees, yet only 12 days of actual school. Not fun when the wife and I work from home.
Check back in July when it's 115.77, 81, 73, 70, 70 - The highs for the next five days in Phoenix.![]()
So one isn't surrounded by Californians?Serious question: why would anyone live in these area's? Been in the mid 70's all winter here in sunny SO CAL. Ya it is expensive, but why not give up something to be comfortable year round?

I flew out of Charlotte yesterday during the flurries...it was funny, the pilot comes on the intercom and says 'we are gonna be delayed a little bit because we need to be de-iced... We have a crew ready who is dedicated to de-icing Delta planes as they leave the taxi area...shouldn't be long'...then 15 minutes later he says 'they're not used to having to de-ice here in Charlotte, so they're breaking out the equipment now...shouldn't be much longer'...almost an hour later we finally took off...lolMy girlfriend who lives just outside of Charlotte didn't go to work today...she said the roads are slick and will be worse later with temps staying below freezing...so be careful on your way home later, NCCDrove in to work today. Be careful, but you should be OK now. I'm looking at our south of Charlotte suburb street that gets no treatment and it is bone dry as are 90% of the front lawns. Just watch any really shady areas. Even though the sun hasn't been completely out, it has done its job. The sun is pretty much the Charlotte snow removal system. I don't see anything on the ground itself that looks like it would re-freeze. It is still below freezing, but with the sun and the dryness in the air, everything on the road that melted evaporated.Thanks. I already let everyone know I am leaving early. You must have gotten way more snow and ice than we did. There is literally nothing on our road and the front yards. My parents are in town and they mentioned anywhere shaded looked like it could be icy, but that it wasn't bad at all.Yeah I just went out and grabbed a burger down the street. Lots of breakup going on. But man there will be lots of ice tonight. Of course I won't be out in it. I also wouldn't be surprised if they delay the start of school tomorrow.
Weird your post was there when I posted.
