Portis owners (1 Viewer)

While I have enjoyed this magical ride so far, I can only wonder how long these huge games will last. After this weekend's matchup with Detroit, his schedule gets rough down the stretch.

Week 9 vs PIT (2nd ranked rush D)

Week 10 Bye

Week 11 vs DAL (13th ranked rush D) - although not looking good lately

Week 12 @ SEA (21st ranked rush D) - Low ranking, but only gives up 3.9 YPC and will be at home

Week 13 vs NYG (5th ranked rush D)

Week 14 @ Balt (1st ranked rush D) - Not the matchup anyone wants week 1 of the FF playoffs

Week 15 @ Cinci (27th ranked rush D) - $$$

Week 16 vs PHI (9th ranked rush D) - Will they still put two men on Santana or stack the box this time?

On top of a tough schedule, I'm also slightly concerned with his number of carries. Averaging 23+ a game and on pace for 373 carries. His career high is 352. Not a huge jump, but I do expect to see his numbers go up while Betts is out of the line-up. Could we see Portis getting some rest in the FF playoffs if the Skins have a playoff spot already lined up?

I'm also considering the fact that Portis can likely bring in a good amount of talent in a trade right now. Probably a low end RB1 type back and a top 12 WR.

As a big-time Portis fan, I feel like this is a bit of crazy talk here as the guy just produces regardless of situation. However as a fantasy owner, I have a gut feeling this is the right move to make.

I want to hear if other owners are thinking about selling and/or what it would take to get you to swing a deal...

I'm keeping this year, but after all the carries he's getting this year, and his age, there is no way I will be drafting him next year.

Our playoffs are weeks 15-17 so I'll miss the week 14 matchup vs Baltimore

I usually don't dump my stud player for 2-3 "studs" who are struggling, least of which right before the FF playoffs. You could always sell your Audi for 3 Kia's. Great depth.

wish i did not play all big money and could trade! anywho ill draft him next year even with age and carries! maybe 2.5? lol

was offered ADP for my Portis and Lee Evans today, I'm seriously considering this trade as I have the WR depth. I didn't even notice the Baltimore matchup in week 14, now I'm considering even more...

not selling. I remember seeing a ton of people and "experts" saying to bench Portis and the #1 ranked rush d Eagles (at the time) and he went 145 yards and a TD. All i gotta say is keep running left and stay healthy!

You can't bet on injuries. I mean you can but there is no way to know you are right. Keeping Portis is the shark move I think. While he may take a hit in yards, there is no threat of losing carries and no other goal line options. I think he's a lock for 12-14 TDs. Also, he will have a few games where he breaks a long screen and/or has 4-5 catches. They will find a way to get him the ball.

I would not trade him straight up for any RB right now. Not even ADP.

You should be able to get ADP for Portis straight up. You shouldn't have to "throw in" a guy like lee evans.......

Pitt and Baltimore don't look like good matchups. The rest are pretty nice, he put up over 145 yards on both Dallas and Philly already this year.

I'm a big 'Skins homer and a big Portis fan, but I think this is accurate. Unless they do something to reduce his carries (including playoff carries) history teaches us that that heavy usage won't be kind to him. If you're in redraft or contending in dynasty, you ride him. The fact is that very few teams nowadays are throwing such a high % of their carries on one guy. Portis is not only one of the members of that group, he's also one who's gaining yardage, scoring TD's and even getting big plays (he's been good for ~2 20+ yard runs in seemingly every game for weeks now). It's legit. If you've got a bad dynasty team, I'd strongly consider selling high right now just because the guy's 27 years old with 7 years and a lot of wear and tear on him, and he's no good on your roster. Not that he's going to suck next year, but if they keep feeding him the ball like they have been so far, the may start the Long Slow Fade next year, and you won't be able to get compensation for him as an elite RB. Get high draft picks and/or elite prospects.

Portis is 27, not that old age wise. Carries wise, yes, dude has racked up a ton since coming to Washington.

In redraft or dynasty? I would take ADP straight up for my Portis in a dynasty... without blinking an eye.I should note that I already turned down two 1sts (I already have 2 in 2009) and McFadden and a 1st for him.

Portis blew up on the Eagles once before. I remember because he was on my bench because I was worried about the matchup. cost me the game for going with Graham who had a great matchup but ended up being a fullback for that game. He is one of those players you never bench.
