Post Pictures Of Your Dog Here. Or Any Other Pet You Have (2 Viewers)

That's awesome, good for you.

We have a rescue that we have had since she was a little under a year old that is turning 13 this year.

Some moron tied something around her left front leg to apparently gimp her to use her as a bait dog.

She had to have her leg amputated

We were fostering her and the shelter said she was considered unadoptable.

Everyone should have a 3 kegged dog, it makes you grateful for things.
My wife and I had a 3 legged long haired chihuahua we adopted from a shelter. She lived to be 19 we named her ilean.

I have two 80 LB Yellow Labs who think everybody loves them.  Watching some peoples reactions that is not the case. I can tell right away people who are not fond of 80 lb dogs nuzzling them.
We have this problem a bit with my Weim.  He’s 83lbs and thinks everyone should want to pet him.  For the most part everyone we see on our usuals walks around the neighborhood know him and don’t have a problem, but occasionally I get the stink eye. He’s not even pulling towards them, but I guess they don’t want a bigger dog looking up at them as they walk by.

Scrolling through page 1 and for a split second I thought I saw "Post pictures of your dong here" by Joe Bryant. In that fleeting moment I thought maybe Anthony Bourdain's death actually threw the world off its axis.

Romey - 11 year old mutt rescue we've had since he was 8 weeks. Getting the distinguished look, but other than arthritis in his surgically repaired knees and a lot of fatty growths, is in good health for his age.

Luna -5 year old mutt rescue that came to us with severe trust issues at around 8 months. Has mostly overcome, but is very dependent on Romey for emotional stability.

Which brings us to-

Un-named so far rescue pup we are adopting, will arrive in 2 weeks (pup on the right). Hopefully will take pressure off the old guy and build a bond with Luna for when old guy passes.

Possibly, but I think his nose is too wide to be a strong match. He came to us really skinny, but still 15 lbs at 10 weeks old. He's all head and skin at this point. Collar has an inch plus gap at his neck, but won't get over his head!

Regardless he is going to be a good looking dog.My dog only weighed a little more than that at 10 weeks. He is 110 lbs now.He takes me for walks. I always liked the name Tigg ever since Open Range thats close.

Yes, he's going to be a big boy. I am expecting 100 -120 lbs. I understand the working dogs get their ears clipped and that's a damn shame.
Yea well that does not have to happen.I know a lot of folks with Dobies who are not doing that now.

So I was messing around in the kitchen this morning making coffee and whatnot and I look at the backdoor and my boy is intently staring. I head over and notice he’s having a showdown with a chipmunk. They were both frozen looking at each other for probably 3 minutes.

The local dog park has a gopher issue.  Pretty sure they are just messing with the dogs as none of them ever seem to get caught.  This is my husky mix puppy having a stare off with one.

We rescued him about 2 months ago, my first dog as an adult (I'm 45).  It's been pretty damned awesome having him around the house (and swimming pool) and taking him out on the trails with me.

We rescued my boy when I was 29/30 and had just started telecommuting. He’s added so much to my life.  It’s a little too warm for trails, but in the fall that’s about all we do.  The only real problem is his prey drive leads us to more trees than anything else.

Starting to think about getting a dog or maybe two. Have two girls 13 and 9 and they love visiting their grandparents and their two dogs. We've both been anti-pet for a while because of the responsibility, leaving them at home alone when we work, etc etc but seeing my girls with those dogs has really softened me up and I pitched the idea to my wife who is having similar feelings. Mentioned it to the 13 year old who is of course on board so we better follow through. I love labs as does my wife but we also both want dogs that don't shed too much. Will probably try go the rescue route and hope to find maybe just a few years old in good health and well trained and behaved. Can't see doing a puppy. Any recommendations on breeds?

Well Shi Tzus don't shed and they are small easy to handle.  Good luck house breaking them though all three of mine are sooners.  Sooner s@#t and p!ss in the house than outside.  Poodles also are good for not shedding and pretty darn smart you could get a toy if your looking for something small or a standard if you want a larger dog.

There are plenty of adult rescues. With a rescue, you don't really have to pick out a breed. Check out local rescues / animal shelters and pick out a dog that fits. Anything with short hair will minimize the hassle of shedding.

Wife and I just got ourselves a miniature golden doodle.

My god, she's beautiful. And smart as a whip. This girl is learning faster than I could have imagined...

But good lord is she a snuggler.

Appointment at a local rescue shelter to check out a few dogs in the morning. May come home with 1 or 2 as early as tomorrow.

All our base are belong to new pup

A great fit for our family, especially my two girls.

Any recommendations on dog food?
I use Taste of the Wild for my dogs. 1 Bloodhound and 3 Shi Tzus.  A lot of different Varieties I use Wetlands the most they seem to enjoy it more.  I get it at Tractor Supply.  I found out that Tractor Supplies private label 4-health is made by the same company and it is about 10 bucks cheaper a bag.  I just don't want to change their diet.

Oh and it's great that you are doing a rescue she sounds like a wonderful dog.

She's really calm and friendly. Haven't even heard a single bark out of her yet. Will be interesting when it comes. Just a great dog.

Pretty sure this pup is a reincarnated human. She has no interest in chasing tennis balls or playing with any toys. Loves to stand up and hold hands. Also loves belly rubs.
