Hillman really climbing. At what point does he become a reach?

Most agree the first 7 picks are some combo of TRich, Luck, RGIII, Martin, Wilson, Blackmon, Floyd. Then Hillman has to be in the conversation for any of the next picks since he's clearly in the next tier of RBs with Pead and maybe Miller. Then there's a big number of WRs being taken around this point in Jeffrey, Quick, Hill, Randle, etc. If your team is strong at WR and has a need at RB, I can definitely see Hillman going at 1.08 all day. I don't think there is a slam dunk BPA there so I think drafters start shifting towards need and situation over raw talent. Heck, I have the 1.07 in an upcoming draft and don't want to take a WR there since my team is pretty darn good at that position, so Hillman and Pead are in the conversation for me at that point. (I play in non-ppr leagues fwiw)

Appreciate the input, I know he's not a rookie, but we took a league vote and since he had never even participated in any NFL activities due to injury, and seeing him being drafted in other dynasty rookie drafts around here, we decided to allow him to be rookie eligible for this season. In hindsight probably just should have had him included in the FA draft to avoid any issues regarding it.

IMO that was a mistake. Now you'll have to keep on voting to create a fine line of when a player is eligible for the "rookie" draft. What if a team signed a player out of the CFL like Miami and Wake? etc.

I'm the Autobots. My picks were the 6th pick in every round...I had the 3rd overall pick from a trade, but traded it away since I already have Rodgers/Foster/McCoy as my starters. Traded the 3rd for a 1st next year, which will likely be high...and the 3rd round 1st pick this year. Traded the 6th overall pick for a 1st next year and Mendenhall and Redman. So my first pick was the 16th overall pick...and I ####ed up with my second pick...I expected Pead to go top 15 and didn't notice he was still available. Offensive line plays a somewhat large part in our league...points are scored with offensive yardage/offensive points and negative for sacks allowed. So if I'm starting 5 OL from the top 5 offenses vs someone who has 5 ####ty ones...the point difference at one position can be huge. Also ended up trading the two 2013 1st I traded for for Rob Gronkowski...who I'm pairing with Jimmy Graham. Starting offensive lineup for me is Rodgers-Foster-McCoy-Dez-Gronk-Graham. =]

Just a heads up to guy above me - You know Lestar Jean isn't a rookie right - your league ought to have him in the FA draft, if I understand the way you do the drafts correctly.

Appreciate the input, I know he's not a rookie, but we took a league vote and since he had never even participated in any NFL activities due to injury, and seeing him being drafted in other dynasty rookie drafts around here, we decided to allow him to be rookie eligible for this season. In hindsight probably just should have had him included in the FA draft to avoid any issues regarding it.

IMO that was a mistake. Now you'll have to keep on voting to create a fine line of when a player is eligible for the "rookie" draft. What if a team signed a player out of the CFL like Miami and Wake? etc.

Yea, again in hindsight it wasn't the right move, that being said will rectify it by declaring that he is not practice squad eligible for this season, and going forward only actual first year rookies will be considered eligible for the rookie draft, that way I can shut the pandora's box I opened. Thanks for the input guys always helps to get an outside opinion/viewpoint.

No worries - I believe he was selected in a lot of drafts here because a lot of dynasties just throw all the FA and rookies in one draft - perhaps suggest that to your league?

No worries - I believe he was selected in a lot of drafts here because a lot of dynasties just throw all the FA and rookies in one draft - perhaps suggest that to your league?

I thought about it going into this season, but I like having them seperated so that way the worst teams get the opportunity to take the best rookies available as well as the best free agents available, giving them the greatest chance to make a complete turnaround the following season, or at least make a significant jump in the standings. Combining them would eliminate this advantage for the lower seeded teams.

They may not end up at the top of the most productive players in this class, but Chris Givens (STL) and Marvin Jones are shaping up as the best values. I was high on both before the draft and their value based on where they are being drafted make them steals IMO.
