Post your dynasty rebuilds here (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
So I had a team in one of my 12 team PPR dynasty leagues that I decided to rebuild last year after starting the season 3-4 (plus not making the playoffs for a few years in a row) This is how I reshaped my team over the last 7 months.

The first group of trades were made during the middle/later part of the 2010 season. I put in bold the trades involving 2011 picks where the order was NOT yet known at that time of these trades during 2010.

1. Traded Schaub and Breaston for Palmer and Spiller

2. Traded Palmer, Randy Moss, Santana Moss for McNabb, Wells, Hightower

3. Traded Spiller and 3rd rounder in 2011 (3.4) for Hernandez, 1st in 2011 (1.3), and 3 2nd rounders in 2011 (2.1, 2.2, 2.8)

4. Traded Reggie Bush and Lance Moore for LaFell and 1st in 2011 (1.5)

5. Traded Colston and Nelson for Sidney Rice and McCluster

6. Traded Hightower and Woodhead for 1st in 2011 (1.11)

7. Traded Cooley and 2nd in 2011 (2.8) for Clark and 2nd in 2011 (2.3)

I then made the following trades this off-season when the draft order was known for the 2011 season.

7. Traded A.Roberts and 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 for 1.7 (I should note I made this trade not just to get 1.7, but I HAD to pair down my total number of players and picks to 22)

8. Traded Brees, Starks, Wells for Rodgers, 1.6, Jacoby Jones

9. Traded Damien Williams for Goodson

I completed our rookie draft this week with the following players:

1.3 J. Jones

1.4 Ryan Williams

1.5 Daniel Thomas

1.6 Mike LeShoure

1.7 Greg Little

1.11 Randall Cobb

My new made over roster for this season:

Rodgers, Kolb

Stewart, DeAngelo, Ryan Williams, Daniel Thomas, LeShoure, Goodson

Calvin, Sidney Rice, Julio Jones, Little, Sanders, Cobb, LaFell, McCluster, Jacoby Ford, Burress, Armstrong, Jacoby Jones

Clark, Hernandez

Compared to last year's roster coming into the season:

Brees, Palmer

DeAngleo, Stewart, Spiller, Bush, Portis, Starks

Calvin, Randy Moss, Colston, Santana Moss, Nelson, Steve Johnson, Sanders, A.Roberts, A.Edwards, Armstrong

Cooley, F.Davis

I haven't done many rebuilds before and wanted to see what everyone thought. I also thought others could use this thread to show how they reshaped their dynasty teams.

While I don't expect to necessarily win my league this year, I do believe I'm MUCH better off now than I was before I started the rebuild. My one public and embarrassing admission- I dropped Steve Johnson last September. :wall: I did pick up Kolb off the wire which hopefully takes away some of that sting.

Wow one of the bests rebuilds I've seen in a while
Thank you. I'm really not that great or experienced at this, but have seen a lot of others do it in my leagues over the years. It was fun and I obviously got lucky when my 2 firsts I acquired last year turned out to be 1.3 and 1.5 (My team "earned" the 1.4)

so you started a thread to toot your own hornthere is a offseason trading thread
Wow, really? No, I made this thread because i'm sure I'm not the only guy that had a dynasty team struggle for a few years and wanted to have an extreme make over. I'd like to see what others have done. Thanks for your classy post though!

I just started a rebuild in my 16 teamer for a couple of reasons.

1) The league has 3 teams that are really stacked and feel that 2 of the 3 have a 2 yr window before they start to fall apart. My Team finished 4th in standings and pts scored last yr.

2) I felt that my team as well only had a 2 yr window left and I couldn't compete with the other guys

3) I just really wanted to start over because I love trading picks during the draft.

I made a thread in the AC and everyone killed my trades but I'm happy with what i got.

I undertook a HUGE rebuilding project 9 months ago, taking over a very, very poor team in an already-established league where the previous owner was just horrid, and hadn't used a draft pick in 2-3 years (and also didn't trade them wisely)...including the rookie draft that took place RIGHT before he dropped out and I joined.

I won't chronicle individual trades/WW pickups/draft moves/etc. unless there's specific interest. Its more likely that this gets read if its shorter anyways haha.

Team I inherited less than a year ago:

QB: Rivers, Garrard, Anderson

RB: Barber, Sproles, F. Taylor, L. McClain, T. Jones

WR: M. Austin, N. Burleson, N. Washington, Housh, L. Moore, L. Coles, B. Berrian

TE: Scheffler, F. Davis, D. Lee

Needless to say, the previous owner was incompetent, and only left me Rivers and Austin as trading pieces.

Through various trades (many many many many of them), some good work on the waiver wire and adds/drops, and the draft, this is the roster I have now (or will have, after one more trade officially goes through)

QB: Ryan, Fitzpatrick, Campbell

RB: McCoy, Forte, Stewart, Ingram, Harrison, Taiwan Jones

WR: Lloyd, Stevie Johnson, Mike Thomas, Ford, Cobb, Salas, Obomanu, Burleson, N. Washington, Parrish, Housh,

TE: Gresham, Keller, Gonzo, Fasano, Hoomanawanui

We have IDP's (low-scoring, nothing crazy) as well, but I won't get into that. Suffice to say that through vigilant watching of the waiver wire, I have all top-ten IDP's at every position, at least for the season that just passed.

Basically, my team is now unrecognizable. We have 45 man off-season rosters, and I just did the math: I managed 82% roster turnover, in 9 months.

Pretty damn proud of that, it being my first dynasty league. And I'm working on a couple other trades right now; 1) to send my top two TE's, etc. for Vernon Davis, to consolidate there and get a stud as a starter, and 2) Forte, etc. for either Nicks, Fitzgerald, or Wallace (whichever owner works out the best deal with me, honestly).

And then, my roster will be even better/more balanced, with decent young developmental depth and a strong, competitive starting lineup.

Took over a horrible non-PPR team in January of 2010. Had very few rosterable players (I immediately cut about 6 players upon taking over). Beginning roster was as follows:

QB - Flacco, Kolb, Leinart

RB - McGahee, Cadillac, Buckhalter, Snelling

WR - Mason, Ward, Jacoby Jones

TE - Shockey, Heap, Watson

Rookie Picks: 1.7, 2.4, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10

Just counted through MFL. 41 separate trades over the course of the last year and a half. I won't bother posting them. There were some good ones (Sold Flacco for Freeman/Mike Thomas; Green-Ellis/Brandon Tate for Kenny Britt; Torain for what ended up being the 1.7 and B. Jacobs), and some BAD ones (Sold both Wallace and Hillis for pennies on the dollar before they both broke out last year). Won some and lost some. Needless to say I was very active via trading and the waiver wire, including gaining 3 1st round picks this year. Current roster is below, rookie draft is currently underway...

QB - J. Freeman, C. McCoy

RB - Ingram, Blount, Ryan Williams, K. Hunter, M. Bush, D. Brown

WR - M. Williams (TB), Mike Thomas, A. Benn, J. Ford, E. Sanders, R. Cobb, L. Hankerson

TE - Graham, Cook, Dickson

Non-PPR, Start 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 3-4 WR, 1-2 TE. Still weak at WR, but overall I took a team with very little value and now have something good to work with, I'm happy

Draft picks:

1.02, 1.12, 2.02, 2.07, 3.02, and 4.02

Basically blew up my team for 2011 draft picks, with the idea that the picks would be underpriced, while at the same time ensuring my team would end up with the 1.01 pick. Sold Kolb, Forte, Flacco, Celek, Winslow, Knox, Maroney, Scott, Edelman, Leinart and Mason for draft picks soon after taking over.

First draft netted me

1.02 Dez Bryant

2.09 James Starks

3.06 Rob Gronkowski

4.06 Tony Moeaki

This draft, from those players I dealt, I ended up with the 1.01 (mine), 1.02, 1.07, 1.09, 1.11, and 1.12. I traded the last 4 picks for the 1.03/3.03/4.03

This years draft netted me

1.01 AJ Green

1.02 Mark Ingram

1.03 Julio Jones

3.03 Blaine Gabbert

4.01 Johnny White

4.03 Julius Thomas

My roster today is...

Still need a lot in the way of depth and RB, but I feel on the whole the talent level difference is huge. I feel that I could have built differently and had a sure playoff team now, but with the ways teams are built in this league (a couple of teams with stacked rosters) I felt I had to swing for the elite players to try and compete.

Okay, this league started in 2008, but the 2 months prior to the dynasty draft I didn't have access to a computer at home. This is a distinct disadvantage when in Australia :P

Anyway, PPR IDP league, All TDs 6 points, return points, QB-RB-RB-Flex-WR-WR-TE-OP-OP.

Fair to say it was my worst draft ever, my starting lineup for most of the year was

Warner (Tavaris and Quinn backups)

Barber (Traded Gore for Barber + pieces that were worthless)

McGahee

Boldin (Stud in 08)

White

DJax (Rookie)

Cooley

Earnest Graham

Split between Harry Douglas and absolute junk.

Made some nice pick ups late ie Finley, but cut them by the time they came around.

Anyway, at the end of that year I went insane with trading

Traded Boldin (WR 8 for the year despite missing 3 games) and 1.06 for Ray Rice/Felix Jones (RBs 49 and 67 in their rookie years respectively) and 1.12

Traded 1.12 and a few IDP pieces and waiver pick ups for 1.07

On traded 1.07 for a future first round pick.

Traded my first round pick in the next year for Mendenhall.

Traded Warner/Maroney/Carlson/2nd/A few other pieces for Edwards and Palmer.

In the draft, didin't have a first but picked up Garcon/MSW/Harrison in the later rounds.

Early in the year just after Edwards got traded to the Jets and Jennings was frustrating, I traded Edwards + IDP studs for Jennings + Peppers.

So Second year starting lineup for the most part was

Palmer

Rice

Barber

Jennings

White

DJax

Cooley

Felix

Mendenhall

With Garcon/MSW/Harrison as rotational players

Finished about the same place, so I ended up trading for Mendenhall with 1.06 (the player then ended up picking up Bradford with the pick, so sort of a win win in a league that can start 3 QBs with 6 point all TDs). The pick I traded for ended up being 1.02.

The second offseason traded

Harrison and Cooley for Witten (Team was desperate for a RB and he had just ran for 500 yards in 4 games)

A 2nd for Pozluszny (He offered Vick which hurts a tonne nowadays :P )

Traded 1.02 for Stewart

Traded Peppers/Jacoby Jones/future 2nd/Mike Thomas for Hakeem Nicks (The other team was star studded at most positions other than IDP)

At the start of the year, traded Palmer, Barber, 2nd (From another trade), MSW for Roethlisberger (He thought he was contending)

So start of the third year my lineup was

Roethlisberger (Hill as my backup in the first four games)

Rice

Mendenhall

White

Jennings

Nicks

Witten

DJax

Stewart

With Felix/Garcon/Lewis/McGahee/Hill/Tamme as rotational players

Ended up winning it all last year without using a first round pick. Just traded 1.12 and Garcon for Kolb, so likely another year without a first.

Without listing each trade, my end of 2009 roster:

Schaub, Orton, VY

RBrown, Jacobs, MJD, Leonard, Norwood, Stephens-Howling

Aiken, Avery, Burleson, Collie, Henderson, Manningham, Nelson, Royal, Smith (NYG), Walter

DClark, DThomas

Suisham

Ravens D, Texans D

Current:

Romo, Kolb, Clausen, VY

MB3, MBush, Choice, Jacobs, BTate

Armstrong, Avery, Collie, Crabtree, Evans, Garcon, Hester, MSW, Smith (NYG), DWilliams

ZMiller, KW2

Gostkowski

Lions, Titans

1.02, 1.09, 2.08

two 2012 1sts, three 2nds, two 3rds

It was a mess, still is a mess, and I gave up some talent too easily. This is an all FBG league, so it's harder to get the great deals than many other leagues.

RB - McGahee, Cadillac, Buckhalter, SnellingWR - Mason, Ward, Jacoby JonesTE - Shockey, Heap, Watson RB - Ingram, Blount, Ryan Williams, M. Bush, D. BrownWR - M. Williams (TB), Mike Thomas, A. Benn, J. Ford, E. Sanders, R. CobbTE - Graham, Cook, Dickson
Again, this is amazing. Nice job!

Took over a pretty beat up Zealots team one week before regular season kickoff last year. Still have plenty of work to do but so far I am happy with the progress.

Without listing entire rosters here are the top guys I had at each position to start.

QB: Garrard, Stafford, Henne

RB: Deangelo Williams, Peyton Hillis (who knew?) and then really my RB2 when I took over was Kevin Smith. Nothing else of note.

WR: Wes Welker, Santonio, Roy Williams, Cotchery, Amendola

TE: John Carlson, Heath Miller

When I took over I had the option to make any free agent moves I wanted, but being a week before the season there wasnt a ton to go after. I did however pickup Legarrette Blount and that helped a lot, also snagged Mike Clayton.

After week 1 I dealt Wes Welker for Tampa Mike and a 2011 2nd rounder.

After week 3 or 4 I did not get great value but I wanted to move Hillis incase the magic did not continue and DWill was struggling and it was very difficult to move either guy. Interest in them seemed very lukewarm.

Ended up moving Hillis and DWill for Kenny Britt, and the teams 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Felt it was a weak team, turned out to be 1.4.

In October dealth Mike Clayton, Mike Tolbert, and my 2011 3rd for a 2011 1st (solid team, ended up being 1.9)

After those main moves ended up with this draft:

1.03 Jones, Julio ATL WR ®

1.04 Williams, Ryan ARI RB ®

2.03 Cobb, Randall GBP WR ®

2.05 Hunter, Kendall SFO RB ®

2.06 Gabbert, Blaine JAC QB ®

4.04 Lewis, Dion PHI RB ®

5.03 Jones, Greg NYG LB ®

And for next years draft I have a 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. All should be in the top half of each round at worst so that should be a big help as well.

So now looking at:

QB: Stafford, Gabbert, Garrard, Henne

RB: Blount, Ryan Williams, Kendall Hunter, Javon Ringer, Dion Lewis, K Huggins, etc

WR: Britt, Tampa Mike, Santonio, Julio Jones, Amendola, Cobb

TE: Carlson, Heath

Same junk at TE, and RB still needs a lot of work but I have a lot of young talent now and a lot of picks to work with next year. Hopefully I can make some solid deals and picks and get this on the right track.

Took over this team with a partner in March, 2009. 1 ppr and start 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, and 1 flex.

QB: Cutler, Campbell, Quinn, Brohm

RB: Felix Jones, Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, Torain, Selvin Young, Betts, E. Graham, A. Hall

WR: TO, Driver, Steve Smith (NYG), D. Bennett, Booker, Engram

TE: Witten, Scaife

ROOKIE PICKS: 1.7, 2.7, 3.7, 4.7

Keep in mind, this was before Steve Smith did anything and was worth much. Cutler, Felix, and Witten were the only pieces.

After a ton of trades, we made the playoffs and 2nd most pts scored after an incredible turnover that year. The very next year (last year, in 2010), this team went undefeated and won it all with the following roster:

QB: Rodgers, Vick, Fitzpatrick

RB: MJD, Ray Rice, Foster, Felix Jones

WR: DeSean, Maclin, Reggie Wayne, S. Moss, Manningham, Benn

TE: Gresham, Graham, Hernandez, Tamme

Rookie picks: 1.6, 1.12 and a few others in later rounds

Love this thread. This was my 1st rebuild.

Took over this team the summer prior to the 2009 season in a 12 team 1 PPR Dynasty where all TDs are worth 6 pts. Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1FLEX/PK/DST. NOTE: not a lot of trading happens in this league during the season. 99% of the deals happen in the offseason.

Rookie Pick 1.01 (Moreno)

Owner before was terrible. Poor trades. Traded away future 2nd-4th rounders for nothing, etc. I came in with the intention of blowing the team up. My initial plan was to ship out the New England guys. They were coming off the historic 2008 season and their value would never be higher.

1. Gave Welker/1.09 (Stafford) for Roddy White

2. Gave Cassel/Randy Moss/2.04 for 1.03(Crabtree)/Avery

3. Gave Celek/Benson/LRobinson for Sidney Rice/Scheffler/2010 1st(1.05)/2010 1st(1.07)/2010 2nd(2.07)

4. Gave MSW/2010 1st(1.07)/2010 2nd(2.06) for Bowe/Caddy

5. Gave Crabtree/Royal/2010 1st(1.06)/Heap for AJ/Shockey

The 2009 Season played out (Shoulda traded Brady before the injury...oops). After the 2009 season, I made the following trades

1. Gave Brady/Moreno/Roddy/ODaniels/1.05/2.07 for ARodgers/CJ3/Meachem/Celek

2. Gave 2011 1st(1.10)/2011 2nd(2.10)/2011 3rd(3.10)/Walter/JDavis for Welker/Addai (Only trade I semi-regret, but I needed RB3/WR3 help at the time)

3. Gave Mark Clayton/Scheffler for Steve Smith NYG (Clayton and Scheffler had a string of strong games - early in season)

The 2010 Season played out and recently I finally rounded out my team to where I love it. Took 3 offseasons of hard work, but it's the rebuild I'm now most proud of (took on 2 others since).

1. Gave Jerome Simpson for Donald Brown (to pair with Addai)

2. Gave Meachem/Welker for Vernon Davis/1.09 (now I don't feel so bad about the Welker trade above)

3. Gave SSmith NYG/Moeaki/1.09 for 1.02 (AJ Green)

4. Gave SJax/AJ for Mathews/Nicks (this one caused a lively debate in the Dynasty Trades thread)

5. Gave Ford/2012 1st/2013 1st for Miles Austin (I never seek trades out like this and I didn't in this case. I hate trading future 1sts, especially 2 years out considering so much can happen. But, I felt this was a trade I couldn't pass up. I hope I don't regret it.)

So after 3 offseasons, numerous waiver moves, and 13 trades....I go into the 2011 season with the following roster:

Campbell, Jason OAK QB

Grossman, Rex WAS QB

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB

Webb, Joe MIN QB

Young, Vince TEN QB

Addai, Joseph IND RB

Brown, Donald IND RB

Johnson, Chris TEN RB

Mathews, Ryan SDC RB

Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR

Caldwell, Andre CIN WR

Green, A.J. CIN WR

Nicks, Hakeem NYG WR

Rice, Sidney MIN WR

Celek, Brent PHI TE

Davis, Vernon SFO TE

Dickson, Ed BAL TE

Buehler, David DAL PK

Patriots, New England NEP Def

I have absolutely nothing left from when I first took it over. I'm excited for the season. FWIW, the offseason doesn't have waivers, so there is some dead weight on the team that will be cut soon.

Who knows? This team may even look a little different before Week 1 :)

I like this writeup but the rest you might not like :) It is not really hard to do a rebuild if you get a few deals done.

1st you will have a high pick in the draft which usually brings in a nice player. Your at top of waivers for an entire year and we all know what can be had there especially in a 12 team league.

But it all depends on the deals. If you play in a league of guppies(and most leagues have them) than how hard is it to turn around with a trade or 2. In this case there are 2 deals that stand out

1. Traded Spiller and 3rd rounder in 2011 (3.4) for Hernandez, 1st in 2011 (1.3), and 3 2nd rounders in 2011 (2.1, 2.2, 2.8) Great value for Spiller here getting the young TE and a bunch of 2nds for free and I think upgrading nicely from Spiller to Julio. This trade alone made your team much better.

2. Traded Reggie Bush and Lance Moore for LaFell and 1st in 2011 (1.5) Not sure why s team that ends up 1.5 is making this type of deal. Had to be early but at that point Moore was hurt and what had Reggie done. Seems like alot to give and was a nice bonus for you in quickly being able to upgrade

3. Traded Hightower and Woodhead for 1st in 2011 (1.11) Getting a nice pick for 2 fringe RB's. Not sure what an owner would be thinking in grabbing fodder that wont help you win a championship and giving up a 1st to do it. Not bright IMO

The rest of the trades where more hit and miss with mostly nice little ones for you. The Rodgers one was nice but I dont call a slam dunk as I like both Starks and Wells still. But others might disagree. Love the Clark deal but amazed he is still on roster.

I think rebuilds are easy when you can get some easy deals done and get to play waivers in leagues that allow waivers to dominate a league. And there are leagues out there that do allow this. It is this type of turnaround that makes me think this league has a few owners that will always be at the bottom on the league. My home league has it also. They never seem to learn. We asked an owner to leave last year after he missed the playoffs for the 10th consecutive year and never owned his pick. Others ended up with 1, 3, 2, 5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 2, 7 over that span. He added Reggie Bush and Lance Moore types and than sold at end of year for less than he paid to get picks again.

Without listing each trade, my end of 2009 roster:

Schaub, Orton, VY

RBrown, Jacobs, MJD, Leonard, Norwood, Stephens-Howling

Aiken, Avery, Burleson, Collie, Henderson, Manningham, Nelson, Royal, Smith (NYG), Walter

DClark, DThomas

Suisham

Ravens D, Texans D

Current:

Romo, Kolb, Clausen, VY

MB3, MBush, Choice, Jacobs, BTate

Armstrong, Avery, Collie, Crabtree, Evans, Garcon, Hester, MSW, Smith (NYG), DWilliams

ZMiller, KW2

Gostkowski

Lions, Titans

1.02, 1.09, 2.08

two 2012 1sts, three 2nds, two 3rds

It was a mess, still is a mess, and I gave up some talent too easily. This is an all FBG league, so it's harder to get the great deals than many other leagues.
You can tell this is a tough league as Fubar is a pretty good fantasy owner from what I have seen. He gave up 2 nice pieces in MJD and Dallas Clark and brought in a few picks and Zach MIller and looking still towards the future. This is usually how a rebuild goes in a tough league. Slow and methodical.

Just because a turnaround happens quickly, doesn't necessarily mean that the league has bad owners. You can sell at peak value and AT THE TIME the trade looks good for both sides (or even bad for you). But if you are looking towards the future and things go your way, you win. You have to take the context of the trade into account. Trading away Peterson before he had an NFL carry for Larry Johnson probably looked pretty silly back then. But if you fast forward a year or two, the former Peterson owner is hating life.

Thanks, and you're right. I've only seen a couple head scratcher deals, although I've been on the wrong side of a couple.

My trades:

2011:

- 1.05, 2.02 for Kolb, Crabtree

- Ryan Grant, 2.11 for Ben Tate, two 2012 2nds (I realize I lost some here, but Grant won't help me long term, Tate might)

2010:

- Heath Miller, 3rd for KW2

- Henderson, 3rd, 4th for Lee Evans

- Mario Manningham for Armstrong (this was a bad deal, not sure what I was thinking)

- Schaub for Romo (Romo injured at the time)

- RBrown, Fasano, Balt D for Clausen, Grant, Zach Miller

- Benson, Dwyer for MBush, Choice, 1.09

- Bowe, Royal, DClark for Doucet, Garcon, HMiller, 1.05 (Bowe exploded later, making this probably a bad deal)

- MJD, Ringer, Jordy Nelson for Bowe, Benson, MSW, two 2nds, 3rd, 2012 1st

- Orton for Ringer

- 2011 3rd for 3.10 (took a chance on Onobun, didn't pay off)

- 2.09, 4.09 for Hartley, 2011 3rd (unique playoff rules make kickers and other players on good teams worth more than others)

- 1.10, 1.11 for Hester, 2.04 (this is fugly - Mike Williams and McCluster; I took Damian Williams :bag: )

- Garrard, Boldin, 3.02 for VY, Collie, 1.11

Honest assessment: this is some of the worst trading I've ever done. Rebuilding is a difficult process in a league full of good owners, but that doesn't excuse stupid moves. I wasn't going anywhere with the team I had but I should have kept the picks (especially the one that yielded Mike Williams), Mario and Bowe.

Nobody would have thought trading for Peterson was silly. risky maybe, not silly. But, some of these deals are just bad (as were some of mine)

4. Traded Reggie Bush and Lance Moore for LaFell and 1st in 2011 (1.5)

6. Traded Hightower and Woodhead for 1st in 2011 (1.11)

7. Traded Cooley and 2nd in 2011 (2.8) for Clark and 2nd in 2011 (2.3)

8. Traded Brees, Starks, Wells for Rodgers, 1.6, Jacoby Jones

Those are the deals that make a rebuild easier.

Traded Beanie Wells for T Suggs (can start him as a DL rather than LB), the #31 rookie pick this year and a 2013 1st round rookie pick.

All in all for this offseason I've traded away the

#11, 26, 36 and 50 rookie picks this year, a 2013 2nd rounder, Beanie, O Daniles, Will Smith, and Chris Long

for

#31, 32, a 2012 2nd, a 2012 4th, a 2013 3rd, Donald Brown, Fred Jackson, Tulloch, Suggs and Darnario Alexander

2011 preseason - http://www16.myfantasyleague.com/2011/home/36673#0

There were many waiver pick ups and many, many trades.

I am also embarrassed to say that I traded away Michael Vick, Peyton Hillis, and Mike Wallace for Jahvid Best!!!! I was trying to sell high around week 4 on players that stayed high for one that was high and busted!! Could have won the league had I not made that trade.

Traded Colston last year for a first rounder that became 1.10and 4.10

Jermichael Finley was a RFA for me and a bid of $60 was placed on him (league has $100 per year money)and a 1.11 pick so I let him go.

Traded Pierre Thomas for a 3rd and Randy Moss.

Traded Thomas Jones for a 4th.

I had the top pick (not a bad team but a lot of injuries)and took Ingram.

Took Baldin and Randall Cobb with the other 1st rounders.

Took Mason Foster with the 3rd(for Pierre)

Took Darei Scott in the 4th.

Traded the 4.10 for $5(&5.02) and took Jaiquan Jarrett S.

Took over a team in February. All my deals have been to maximize 2012 value. No waivers yet so haven't had a chance to dump worthless players, and draft is just starting.

12 team PPR starts qb/2rb/2wr/te/te-wr flex/d/k

Starting point

QB: Rodgers, Flacco, Eli

RB: SJax, Greene, Hardesty, D.Ward, MMoore, Julius Jones

WR: Colston, SRice, Branch, Mason, LMoore, Gaffney, Houshmandzadeh, Shipley, DWilliams, Gettis, DThomas, MKelly

TE: Gronkowski, Cooley, Celek

DST: Saints, Chargers, Titans

Picks: 1.4, 2.4, 3.4, 4.4, 5.4

Current

QB: Rodgers, Eli, VYoung

RB: Spiller, Choice, Barber, DWard, MMoore, Julius Jones

WR: Maclin, Collie, SRice, AJ Green (1.1), Julio Jones (1.3), Danario Alexander, Mason, LMoore, Gaffney, Houshmandzadeh, Shipley, DWilliams, Gettis, DThomas, MKelly

TE: Graham, Shockey, Shiancoe

DST: Saints, Chargers, Titans

Picks: 3.4, 4.4, 4.6, 5.4 (used 1.1 and 1.3)

How I got here

1.4, 2.4, Flacco, Celek, Hardesty

for

1.1, 2.9, VYoung, Danario Alexander, BJGE

Tried to move "worthless depth" in Flacco and Celek to try and get a stud player to build around.

SJax, BJGE, Gronkowski

for

Spiller, Starks, JGraham

Wanted to get Graham. Wanted to unload SJax and BJGE. Don't necessarily believe in Spiller or Starks but they were upside players I could get with what I had.

Greene

for

Maclin

I like Greene, even though it's a PPR. But given his age and risk, I moved to a safer investment. I can get RBs next year.

Colston, 4.4

for

Collie, 2.6, Choice, Barber

Wanted to unload Colston. Made me nervous to unload one risky player for another maybe even higher risk.

Starks, Cooley, 2.6, 2.9

for

1.3, 4.4, Shockey, Shiancoe

Made this trade after I took AJ at 1.1 but while 1.2 was OTC. Ingram would have started to fill out my roster better, but I ended up with Julio.

Branch

for

4.6

Felt lucky to find a buyer. 4.6 is a better throw-in to other deals, or I can use it on a RB flier which helps my roster better.

So, as of right now, I'm set up to lose in 2011. Hopefully just a RB or 2 away.

Greene

for

Maclin

I like Greene, even though it's a PPR. But given his age and risk, I moved to a safer investment. I can get RBs next year.
Seems weird to be worried about a 3rd year player's age, but he is 26. Maclin's better anyway.
Starks, Cooley, 2.6, 2.9

for

1.3, 4.4, Shockey, Shiancoe

Made this trade after I took AJ at 1.1 but while 1.2 was OTC. Ingram would have started to fill out my roster better, but I ended up with Julio.
 nice deal. With Green, Jones and Maclin you should be set at WR for a long time. Nice depth too.

I assume you'll dump Mason and Housh first chance you get.

Team I inherited less than a year ago:RB: Barber, Sproles, F. Taylor, L. McClain, T. JonesRB: McCoy, Forte, Stewart, Ingram, Harrison, Taiwan Jones
That RB upgrade is nothing short of AMAZING.
Thank you, sir. It took a LOT of work, and taking advantage of different people valuing different players...well, differently. Lots of trading for players when the opportunity arose, just to flip them later for more.

Last year 20 team league, in June i inherited

QB-Rivers, Josh Mccown

RB-Turner, Beanie, Lynell Hamilton, Julius Jones, Buckhalter and some more garbage

WR-Gaffeny, Jordy Nelson, Early Doucet, Juaquin Iglesias, Derek Hagan some more garbage

TE-Dustin Keller, Dante Rosario

IDP-I kept mostly the same

I traded Rivers for Fitz, Tebow, and Orton

I traded Wells for Bradshaw and a 1st

I traded Turner for Wallace and a 1st

I traded Tebow, Orton, and a 1st for D-Will (This is when he was a top 10 back)

I traded Wallace and Bradshaw for Mccoy and Maclin

I grabbed Keiland Williams and Brian Hartline off the wavier wire, then traded them for Michael Bush and Clayton

I traded a 3rd and a 4rd for Green-Ellis and Tate

I took Gresham at 20th overall

I traded Dansby for Mcfadden

I picked up Brandon Jackson in week one when Grant went down

I traded Jackson and Michael Bush for Spiller

I picked up Troy Smith

I traded Green-Ellis for Posluzney

start of last year (and mostly still now)

QB-Henne, Troy Smith, Thigpen

RB-Shady Mccoy, McFadden, D-Will, Spiller, Green-Ellis (who I traded for Posluzney at the end of the year), Stepehns-Howling, Tyrell Sutton

WR-Fitz, Maclin, Nelson, Mark Clayton, Brandon Tate, Sammie Stroughter

TE-Gresham, Keller, Zach Miller(JAX), Rosario

I am still looking to trade D-will and/or Spiller for a QB.
