Potential Hillis Trade Request? (1 Viewer)

If they don't plan on extending and he's going to be a problem in the locker room, wouldn't they take a 3rd or 4th rounder for him?
Probably won't happen, on the principle that if they allow Hillis to force a trade every future disgruntled player with unacceptable contract demands would think they could do the same. (See Bengals vs. Carson Palmer)

Was just offered Hillis and S. Rice for Cam. I have Rodgers, but not sure I like what I'm reading in here.

I don't see how he's admitting to faking an injury. He was sick. Might be some criticism for not playimng through that, but I don't see how it's faking it.

It's not a good sign when your agent dictates your actions. Hillis is dumb for listening to his agent and dumber for admitting that he listened to his agent.

True, but this is not the typical, "pay me or I sit out" or "pay me, or I go somewhere else". This is literally a "PLEASE pay me because I want to be here". Some organizations may not flinch, but tell me the last time a Cleveland Brown took this type of stance. Honestly, in a weird way, I think the guy is confessiing his "sins", so he can move on and get a deal done. To my knowledge, he has not even hinted at wanting to play anywhere else. Hillis may have made a bad decision, but unlike most of these guys, he knows where his bread is buttered, and Cleveland is that place.

Big Browns fan here...Hillis is making a media play for a new contract like Josh Cribbs did last year, but not playing in the Miami game totally backfired on him. Holmgren will get involved and smooth things out, but I still don't know if Hillis resigns. Hillis is a solid runningback, but his numbers last year were inflated because Mangini/Daboll were coaching for their jobs. Remember, Mangini/Daboll did the samething at the end of the 2009 season where they overused Jerome Harrison (Marginal RB). Hillis is better then Harrison, but Hillis has a tough time turning the corner and fumbles. I love the Browns and hope Hillis resigns, but if I am Holmgren/Heckert I don't break the bank on Hillis. Also, one of the only (semi)big free agent signings in the off-season was Brandon Jackson (now on IR) to hedge against Hillis contract issues and Hardesty injuries.

With all that said, Hillis has one way out - Play his ### off that is the only way Cleveland pays him the kind of money he is looking for.

FWIW, I traded Hillis last week in my Dynasty league (I have Hardesty)

he had strep throat and lost 12 lbs in a few days, ofc he shouldnt have played. his contract situation had nothing to do with it.
