Preseason Game: Patriots vs. Panthers (1 Viewer)

My son had a scimage so I missed the game...glad to hear about Maroney... but I havent read much in hear about Foster and CAR running game. Did Foster get anything going at all? how did he look?

As a Panthers fan, hopefully that PS week 1 offensive line play will come back. The first unit looked like world beaters in PS game 1 vs. the Giants. Bring on the reg. season, I want to see what the Panthers will look like then. If they still can't move the ball then I'll be concerned.
uhh...be very concerned. Pushing around a pathetic Giants D means nothing. Hiring coaches from the worst franchise in the league is the sign of a problem.
:pics: You are so unwilling to give the new offensive coordinator any chance at all. You keep throwing out your nasty Browns comments, although Davidson was with the Patriots longer. You have been negative since the day Henning left and Davidson entered. Get over it, and support the team ya damn grouch.

That sound you hear is Maroney's ADP climbing.
Really? Because he looks healthy?J
A couple of reasons1) BB confident enough to give him 14 carries in the first 21 minutes.2) His yardage totals are great against a top 10 defense3) He looks like he's matured a bit as a runnerI think you're going to see him creep up in WCOFF drafts...ahead of guys like Rudi and S. Smith.
You gotta be  to take Rudi before Maroney.
Why, pt?J
Maroney's upside is almost double Rudi's. I guess I could take out the loco smiley and put in "playing not to lose, instead of playing to win"."You gotta be playing not to lose, instead of playing to win to take Rudi before Maroney.
I disagree with this. Maroney's upside for this year is a little higher than what Rudi does year in and year out. The difference is this years floors aren't even close. The potential upside edge Maroney has this year is minimal, but the downside is a lot more. I'd rather have Rudi any day of the week.

The Patriots rushed for 20 TDs last year and have a better offense this year. Maroney is more talented than Rudi with a better line and equal to or better passing game. Their upsides are not comparable.

I'm picking 10th in a 10 team no ppr redraft - I'm taking them both.

Maroney is also known for getting knicked up with Rudi is about as consistent as they come. I firmly believe that it's difficult to win your league with your first pick, but easy to lose it. I don't mind playing to win and take plenty of shots in the draft, but if your first round pick is a bust, you have a long season ahead. I'd take Rudi over Maroney in a heartbeat.

Any recaps of Watson here or generally to date appreciated.....think they'll spread it too much for him to even match last year's #s, or - ?

Ouch! My apologies for not being a blind homer. What have you seen that has you so optimistic about this offense.

Watson's four catches led the team Friday night. Although, he did drop what would have been a tough leap-and-catch TD at the back of the end zone to stall the drive that ended with the first FG.As far as his numbers, it could go either way. Last year he ended up being the defensive focus early because of the lack of wide receiver depth. They will always spread it out, but with Moss/Stallworth outside, Welker in the slot and Faulk out of the backfield, teams can't key on him. He still has some trouble with drops at times.I did think it was interesting that they threw a TD pass to Marcellus Rivers Friday night, though.

Watson's drop in the end zone was not a tough catch, it was right in his hands. It should have been made.

I agree, and given his penchant for drops, it was disappointing to see. However, he did have to jump and come down with it between two defenders. That's where Brady had to throw it to complete it, so I agree that Watson needs to come down with that, but it wasn't a Reche Caldwell-like drop.

I don't think she is being a blind homer. She isn't wrong in the fact you have made negative comments about Davidson since the day he was hired. Nobody knows how the new offense will be until the season starts. They have looked good at times, and bad at times. Right now it appears they are trying to find the right fit for the offensive line. It takes time to get the offensive line right. That said, it's my opinion simey was stating you haven't given Davidson a chance, and you haven't. Just my

You said "Maroney's upside for this year is a little higher than what Rudi does year in and year out". That's not true. Maroney's upside is MUCH higher. I guess it's a choice of preference.
