Presidential Debate Thread - Obama vs. Romney (2 Viewers)

Obama and Romney's deliveries project completely differently...One thing I'm noticing in the debate: Not only does Romney seem much more prepared, he also seems much more fluent and projectable in his responses. Obama, on the other hand, seems stammery, sloppy and choppy. Almost like a guy who crammed to memorize his play lines the night before the show.
Turns out one of these guys has a semi important day job.
attending fundraisers?
those Vegas fundraisers after a terrorist attack don't attend themselves

He literally just doesn't get it. You can't create jobs for the long-haul by spending taxpayer money. It makes zero sense.
So you think that if we hadn't fought WWII the economy the past 65+ years would be exactly the same?
Uh, you'll have to explain your logic a bit further to get a response on this.
Taxpayer money funded things like WWII, the space program, the Interstate Highway system. The notion that jobs weren't created for the long-haul by that spending is indisputable, but apparently you are prepared to do so.

According to CNN ticker Obama has had 3 and a half more minutes of air time than Mitt. Yet still losing by 2 touch downs and a field goal...

That's the reality that noone wants to acknowledge. The past 60 years of prosperity were a bubble that was funded by the Federal Government.
So just to be clear: are both of you proposing a further inflation of a bubble? The inevitable outcome will be to create another Rome.
It's not as simple as let it pop or keep inflating it. Which side do you think would do a better job of slowly letting the air out?
Neither. Both will inflate it with different tactics.

Where is Governor Romney's dimple in his tie? Whoa, huge mistake. OTOH, Obama's dimple is perfectly placed. :bowtie:

I'm very much on board with intelligent spending on things like infrastructure building, which the private sector would otherwise neglect. But we both know that intelligent spending is a mere fraction of what we do today.

the best thing to come out of this debate is that we're going to see the Bin Laden photos now since Obama will need a game change spike.

I have been in and out with the Yankee game and will watch more later, but it looks like Mitt clearly came through here.

I'd say its a race again.

I guess Romney was holding back the really good Zingers for the other debates. Kind of like a CFB team that doesn't show more than what is needed to just win the game.

The subject matter dictated this was going to be Obama's toughest debate but I'm shocked he didn't come out punching. I'd give Romney a B+ and Obama a D. The President was on his heels all night.

I don't know. I stand by my idea that Romney would/will win this thing running away if he embraced the idea that the Federal Government can help Americans....but that we need to cut out corruption in it. Instead he chooses to go to war against that idea.

Obama is going to need a cuddle from Michelle. That wasn't a total disaster but Romney won it hands down.

Not watching the last half of this thing but still following this thread was pretty entertaining. Most of these debates are fairly even, maybe a couple of moments that make the news cycle going forward and a whole lot of emptiness. Still, some people are claiming huge wins for their side or hoping these thing shift public opinion in their favor. It's like a lacrosse game with a fight in the stands, the fight in the stands is always more entertaining than the game.
