Presidential Debate Thread - Obama vs. Romney (2 Viewers)

Romney needed a good night tonight because the second debate will include foreign policy and the third debate is solely about foreign policy. It may be tough for Romney to speak with much authority on foreign policy issues.

I just don't get how Romney can say with a straight face he will end Obamacare and replace it with what he did in Massachusetts.

It's the same plan!

Not watching the last half of this thing but still following this thread was pretty entertaining. Most of these debates are fairly even, maybe a couple of moments that make the news cycle going forward and a whole lot of emptiness. Still, some people are claiming huge wins for their side or hoping these thing shift public opinion in their favor. It's like a lacrosse game with a fight in the stands, the fight in the stands is always more entertaining than the game.
Yup. Watched all of it. Mostly a huge snooze fest. Couldn't get excited about either. MY GUY DOMINATED YOUR GUY

:goodposting: Exactly what I was thinking. You have to think the prez has a huge advantage on those topics. That will be interesting.

MSNBC is in mourning over Obama's clunker. :lmao:

Also Al Shaprton is still crazy.

Obama is best when he runs out the clock! I guess when you are winning you just let Romney punch himself out.
I'm watching on CNN with the split screen and Mitt looks non-presidential when he's not speaking. The look on his face is annoying.
:goodposting: He must have campaign managers that worked on that. He's probably trying to look respectful, but it comes across as a forced smirk.
My wife asked me why Mitt had a moony weird smile on his face and gazed lovingly at Obama the whole debate.

Don't forget though- not nearly as many people will watch any of the other debates.

Cuz its always nice to smile

He literally just doesn't get it. You can't create jobs for the long-haul by spending taxpayer money. It makes zero sense.
So you think that if we hadn't fought WWII the economy the past 65+ years would be exactly the same?
That's the reality that noone wants to acknowledge. The past 60 years of prosperity were a bubble that was funded by the Federal Government.
So just to be clear: are both of you proposing a further inflation of a bubble? The inevitable outcome will be to create another Rome.
It's not as simple as let it pop or keep inflating it. Which side do you think would do a better job of slowly letting the air out?
Neither?

I'm not sure how many people are even paying attention, so it may not matter, but Romney killed it tonight. Not really close, IMO.

CNN giving it to Romney as a unanimous decision. Bad night for Obama
This can't be. The FFA Elephants were all geared up about how the Liberal Media Conspiracy was going to declare Obama the winner no matter what. What's going to feed their persecution complex now?

Romney came across as a moderate tonight; like he's given up on trying to be a right wing radical caricature. Not that it makes much difference now; but I wonder how tight the race could be if he would have done that from the get-go.
