Presidential Debate Thread - Obama vs. Romney (1 Viewer)

Excellent debate for Romney. No doubt he kicked O's butt. Obama pretty much stuck to the campaign line which has done very well so far. We'll see how the poll numbers move.

Krauthammer with a great point on Fox, how did Obama not introduce the 47 percent into this thing? in his words, CK thinkings Obama thought he could stand up there and run out the clock for 90 minutes and I agree...

Obama is best when he runs out the clock! I guess when you are winning you just let Romney punch himself out.
I'm watching on CNN with the split screen and Mitt looks non-presidential when he's not speaking. The look on his face is annoying.
:goodposting: He must have campaign managers that worked on that. He's probably trying to look respectful, but it comes across as a forced smirk.
My wife asked me why Mitt had a moony weird smile on his face and gazed lovingly at Obama the whole debate.
Romney must of reminded her of how you look at Obama.

watching the big booze hound John King

played softball with him before , his head is so big he didn't fit into a hat

So I know the cons on this board have to be pumped. I expect a lot more active wagering. If you guys can't back your guy and your mouth after by far the brightest moment for your boy's campaign, then you're a bunch of phonies. And don't give me this odds nonsense. If all your con skewed polls had Romney tied with O before this debate, then if anything, your guy should be the favorite.

I think he played it safe. He's in great shape with the electoral college, why risk turning off the independents in a state like Ohio with what could be considered cheap politics in an otherwise very civil debate.

Romney went down from +220 to +200 just now. GET YOUR BETS IN!

Is that tingling gone yet Mr. Mathews?

Im guessing the bottle actually said take one pill every four hours. Not, well, whatever you did.

I was in and out a little but I thought Romney did well in the parts I saw. The President was tentative and measured, Romney clearly aggressive. It looked like the equivalent of one debating with a big lead and one debating from behind. Obama was in the prevent and Romney got some quick scores. Obama did better towards the end but the first impression is clearly going to stick. I doubt it will change the election math much though.

Agree. Obama had opportuniy to throw punches but he didn't.
I wonder if the recently released video of Obama speaking to the black pastor conference in 2007 ad anything to do with that. Not sure talking about what someone says "behind closed doors" is a good idea when you've said some things yourself that might not reflect all that well.

Also shocked that the 47% thing didn't get brought up.Obama not getting one annual budget passed in 4 years (2 years with both Democrat-controlled houses) should have been brought up as well. Only time in American history.

I said Mitt would take it to Obama & hold his own. Poor Obama gets hamstrung by people thinking he's a great debater
