Obama was actually very general about his healthcare plan when he was running. It worked out well for him as he adopted a lot of Hillary's ideas when he became the candidate.

Romney has less than 400 words on his website about health care. The level of detail is non-existent to either Obama or McCain in 2008.

i'm watching the debate rerun on cspan right now and this is the part about obamacare-romneycare...anyhow the main thing i notice is Romney looks confident, has positive look on his face and is paying attention to Obama. On the other hand, Obama sounds less confident, looks less confident, has an irritated look on his face and is not looking much at Romney. I see a guy that looks like The President on the Romney side of the screen, and a guy that looks like a failure on the Obama side. Its striking visually. One more of these and Obama stock will drop faster than panties in a porno.

I wouldn't call that a meltdown. The first 2 mins of Matthews he made some great points. Yeah he kept going, but that's Matthews. He does that everyday on his show. The guy is a bit overbearing.BTW the debate questions were not very good. Lehrer just tossed out a few topics and let them go. Never once asked a pointed question about any issue. That's usually what gets a debate going.

Lots of chatter from my conservative friends on fbook tonight. About an hour ago, I updated my status:

Still offering up $100 wagers to anyone who wants to take Romney.

Is this one of those scientific polls that I hear so much about?

GunZ is taking bets. That's what should interest you.

Gambling is a sin; the silver lining is that Gunz will not need the money he is going to lose on Judgement Day.

I have to admit that this is a backpedal I did not anticipate.

I have to admit that the last time I had to answer the question of "How much do you want to bet?" I think I was standing in my grade school playground. If Gunz, or others, want serious answers they should ask serious questions.

Romney has less than 400 words on his website about health care. The level of detail is non-existent to either Obama or McCain in 2008.

How many words did Obama have?

Couldn't tell you, but I knew more or less exactly what both of the 2008 candidates wanted to do on the major policy questions of HCR. There were pretty detailed analyses available on them. For most of Romney's plans, he's released so few details that to analyze them, the reviews need to make broad assumptions, which he then goes on to deny while continuing to not offer specifics.

How could he have the major policy questions detailed out prior to the election when the mandate didn't come into play until well after?

We've already covered that what gets passed isn't going to align exactly with what is proposed in the platform. As I said way back 2 or 3 posts ago, that shouldn't mean a candidate doesn't have to have a platform with some level of detail.

Seems like a pretty big piece to gloss over. I really don't see how he could have been as detailed as you claim while completely leaving out the core driver of the whole plan.

On MSNBC they're having a meltdown and Andrew Sullivan called it "a disaster". Huffpo big bold headline "Romney Wins the Night". Sounds like i'm on my way to picking up $2000

Why on earth would you do this? For the life of me, I cannot figure out why you are making these bets. Are you that foolish? Or do you get that much satisfaction from getting one over on anonymous people from the Internet that you're willing to leave a large sum of money on the table?
