For the 19th consecutive year...the top seed in the NFC playoffs has advanced to the NFC Championship game. I know that the top seed goes to the best team and they are given home field so they SHOULD win the game...but 19 in a row is crazy.

FWIW...the AFC top seed is 12-7 in that stretch. That's more like the ratio you'd think you'd see.

From some article I just dug up: Since 1975, 19 of the 31 top seeds (61.3 percent) in the NFC playoffs have advanced to the Super Bowl.
