11/01 16:25 Chiefs: Holmes undergoing further evaluation
THE NEWS
The initial evaluation on Priest Holmes' mild head trauma showed no trouble, but the Chiefs running back will undergo further tests to ensure that he can return to the playing field for week nine against the Raiders. "[We're waiting on] reports that will confirm to him and give him confidence that he's healthy and ready to go," head coach **** Vermeil said on Tuesday. "Everyone's different in those situations. He's had some problems with a nerve problem (neck) earlier in the season, and we want to make sure that No. 1 he feels good. We're going through the process with him just like we would anyone else, and tomorrow we'll put it into a category of where he is."
Our View
This sounds like the initial tests revealed no problems, and that Holmes' comfort level will be the determining factor in when he returns to the field. On Wednesday, the Chiefs will list Holmes on the injury report, and our best guess is that he'll be classified as questionable. As soon as more results and information is available, we'll pass it along. Larry Johnson would of course see his role increase if Holmes is limited.
This is a bit worrying in my opinion. It sounds like that poster that said Holmes was nervous may have been right on the money :(
