Pro Bowlers to be announced today (1 Viewer)

Who has the most tackles in the past 6 seasons...............who gets snubbed every year for the Pro Bowl.....................who changed their name this year to throw people off even more......LONDON FLETCHER-BAKER
 I guess that I wasn't aware of the voting. I just assumed that we would be in.
Who got screwed again....and he loses out to do Al Wilson....95 tackles, O Int. Fletcher 131 tackles, 3 INT, 2 TD's.Popularity contest again. And when is a coach going to do the right thing and select him as a player?

Three pro-bowlers for SD (Rivers, Merriman, Kaeding)...... and Eli misses the pro-bowl(and playoffs). Ouch.
also Neal, LT, Hardwick, Jamal Williams, and Osgood. Surprised by Rivers over Brady/Palmer. Not that he doesn't deserve it just suprised....

Nine for SD: LT, Rivers, Gates, Neal, Hardwick, Merriman, Jamal, Kaeding, Osgood. What's the record? How many did the 1985 Bears have? I think nine, but I'm not sure.
Do you think Osgood deserved it?
I think Osgood definitely deserved it last year when Hanik Milligan went instead. This year, I'm not sure.

DeMeco Ryans is the only Texan I can think of that is deserving. No shot for him to get in though. He'll have to be happy with DROY.I would of said Andre Johnson, but his numbers have really taken a dive the 2nd half of the season as Carr keeps regressing.
Andre DID make it. Way to go! That's 2 pro-bowl's in his 1st 4 seasons.

Surprises in my opinion (I'm not as good with the defense, so chime in...)

Bulger over Vick

Rivers over Palmer and Brady

Miller over Pac Man

Not sure where you guys are hearing this ... nfl.com shows Rivers and Palmer (and Peyton) as the AFC QBs.I was disappointed that Colston got snubbed. Guess it was the injury.

This might sound a bit hollow considering Bears took 3/4 ST spots on the NFC roster. (all well-deserved!) But what does Brad Maynard have to do to get picked?

Rivers stats > BradyRivers team record > Bradynot sure how you can even argue Brady over Rivers, other then say becuase he has more name recognition. The numbers and record dont back it up. As for Palmer, he made it too.edit: As for Pac man, I agree, he just makes tons of big plays.

Agreed but usually it's more of a popularity contest and not done based on stats and who actually deserves to be there....

It's a total traveshamockery that Roy Williams is going to Honolulu and Sean Taylor is staying home. I don't know much about the Arizona saftey, but I'd like to see him and Taylor in a hitting drill.

I'm not saying I think Brady SHOULD have made it, only that I thought he would make it. I'm not entirely sold on Rivers being a more deserving selection, but I certainly see the case for him. I just tend to think in moments like that, especially at quarterback, the popular vet wins out far more often then the young guy who may be more deserving.

I don't think the NFL could get Taylor's PO to allow him to fly out of the lower 48. Ergo, Roy is going to Hawaii.

Polamalu over Hope is a joke.

Suggs over Bullock is also a joke.

The pro bowl needs to be removed, worthless popularity contest.

To everyone complaining about some of the selections, that is exactly why Pro Bowl selections should not be used when discussing a players' Hall of Fame worthiness.

Biggest snub- Anquan Boldin over Marques Colston??????????????????????
agreed. but how bout that guy who leads the league in receiving tds? i'm surprised, out of everyone talking on here and nfl network, the only guy to mension him as a pro bowl snub is adam schefter!!?? and how do you leave bart scott off the list??

The Jaguars have the top runningback rushing attack in the NFL(Atlanta is #1 because of Vick, Jax is 2), both Taylor and MJD are averaging over 5.0 a carry, and no O-linemen made it.

Fred Taylor again gets no love, but he didn't have much of a case this season.

But what really got me was Big John Henderson being left out again. The guy is a monster and just gets no love at all.

Casey Hampton: 33 tackles, 2 TFL, 0 sacks, 1 FF (????)

Jamal Williams: 58 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 0 FF (Jamal has played well)

Richard Seymour: 36 tackles, 3 TFL, 4 sacks, 0 FF (Is he really an interior lineman in that system?)

John Henderson: 45 tackles, 5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 0 FF

All 3 Pro Bowl DTs are from 3-4 teams... odd.

Jags are 2 in total defense and 4 in scoring D and 1 player makes it.

Just my annual the Jags got shafted, small market whining.

I found it odd that Big John didn't make it. Especially with the middle of the defense IR'd and Stroud missing half the season.

Wasn't sure if Troy Polamalu would start. He went from All-World to "good" pretty fast. I realize part of that was due to injury, but it's supposed to be based on performence... not how you'd perform if you were healthy.
Agreed. IMO, TP is the best S in the game, arguably one of the best defenders, when healthy. BUT, the pro-bowl really should be about performance instead of name recognition.I'm shocked that Brady didn't make it. Rivers did better this year, but most QBs with LT would. Kevin Williams? Name recognition, or does he really dominate? I just haven't seen too many Vikings games this year. I do have him on my FF team, he hasn't produced squat.

Any Bucs make it? Only one I could imagine would be Barber

edit: meant barber, just saw he made it

Yea. For those scoring at home, the "middle of the defense IR'd" refers to Peterson(MLB) and Darius(SS) being on IR. Not only has Stroud missed many games, but he was playing hurt in several others. Yet the Jags are still 3rd in the NFL against the run. Henderson has played extremely well, it's a shame he didn't get the vote.

Roy Williams has more yards than both Colston and Boldin.
how about yards per game?Colston's injury really screwed him. Team records obviously come into play as well.
Well obviously team records don't come into play because Colston has 26 less total yards and three more TDs than Boldin, and plays on an awful team and still got selected. Yards per game is also not a great metric. I mean we could have a guy play four games and have 150 yards per and 5 Tds after all. I think it has to be overall stats. But yeah, Colston deserved it. More than Roy or Boldin. I said Roy because he should have gone over Boldin IMO.

I had a little chuckle when I read this on the Chargers website:

An interesting side note: Rivers, Merriman and Kaeding were all acquired in the same trade that sent the first choice in the 2004 NFL Draft, quarterback Eli Manning, to the New York Giants, in exchange for Rivers, chosen by the Giants with the fourth-overall selection that year; the Giants’ third-round choice in ’04 (Kaeding), the Giants’ first-round choice in ’05 (Merriman) and the Giants’ fifth-round choice in ’05 (tackle Roman Oben).
And for some reason I was looking for Eli's name on the Pro Bowl list above and could not locate him.... Hats off to AJ Smith for a draft day coup that netted three Pro Bowlers for a guy that has yet to make it to Hawaii.

I thought one of the late-90s Bucs teams had 10 one year.
