Products you DON'T believe in (1 Viewer)

Pretty much any brand of garden hose.

Kink free, indestructible, 3-ply, whatever...they're all the same. They all kink. They all are impossible to roll up. They all have leaky connections. I've gone back to buying the cheap ones. At least they don't cost a lot.
 I have two 50 ft Craftsman rubber hoses connected together...still going strong after 15 yrs
I think the bolded is the key part...They don't make stuff like that anymore. All the new stuff is crapola.
You can exchange Craftsman hoses for a new one with no receipt and no questions asked. I picked one up after reading in the Products thread, and they are good quality. Been pleased with it so far.

Another vote for Apple. Wildly overrated. They are very good for the technologically challenged but that's about it.

I didn't know that...that's good to know. So they basically warantee them just like their hand tools? I might have to check that out then. I'd at least feel better knowing that if when the hose connectors start to leak, I can get a new one.

This is my problem with iTunes. For me, it's not a big deal, I just won't use it. But for older/tech challenged, they go Apple because of the perception (and in many cases reality) that it's much more user friendly.

Then they have to use iTunes, which is as ####ty a program as there is and somehow gets worse with every update.

This. I'm NOT technologically challenged...been using PC's longer than most people I know, and while I'm not an IT guy, I'm the guy most of my friends call when they have issues. I know my PC's, and generally electronics.

I have never for the life of me been able to understand iTunes and all the various accounts, permissions, etc. that are needed to set up my account so that it does what I need it to do. Further, as I stated earlier, the iMac we got is so confusing. For example, I downloaded the Draft Dominator app, and I have no clue what to click to open it...I go back to "Downloads" and open it every time from there. No "icon" or anything for it.

yes sir! The cashier told me that when I bought mine. He said "just roll it up and bring it in and get you a new one." Two other people in line went and grabbed one.

Yea, iTunes was always horrible. Could never quite get it to work right - my wife and I both have accounts, and to get it to where we can simply share music is like pulling teeth. And I'm a pretty advanced computer guy - have built them, repaired them, been around since early DOS, made a website in notepad 20 years ago, etc. Apple, in the interest of being "easier", makes it hard for anyone to do anything but "click the button".

Ear buds- they always break and always fall out of my ear while running. I buy skullcandy and they offer a lifetime warranty so I basically get a free pair every year. Good company though.

As a kid with various junker cars, I found the myriad of "Stop Leak" products never worked.

Any non Weber gas grill. Went cheap with some Char Broil bull#### when we first bought our house in the late 90s. Struggled with that damn thing for years with a bad igniter, hot spots and uneven cooking...junk. Finally opened up the purse strings a few years ago and bought a Weber...works great. Will never go with a cheap gasser again.
I have heard this a lot. I got a Char Broil regular grill on clearance for like $20 just to hold me over until I can pony up the cash for a nice Weber gas grill. Glad to hear it sounds like my plan was the right path....

I'm convinced the bolded part above is part of the issue. So many things are linked with Apple products...iTunes, the cloud, my iMac user ID, etc. I don't think they know what to do when you [gasp] have two separate users who want to use different unique accounts, but would also like to share some things.

I freaking HATE how my iMac always wants my text messages sent to the computer and my phone. Nobody uses any user ID on the iMac except mine, and I don't need my buddy's text about the dump he just took popping up while my mother-in-law is checking her e-mail.
