Prospective pickups for week 2 (1 Viewer)

Well I don't expect 99 yards receiving but 60 and another 30 on the ground. Maybe a short TD catch. Payton seems to really have a thing for Kamara.
I hope you're right as an injury depleted Kamara owner.  Hunt had the two big plays (rush/reception) that are hard to reproduce.   Pats defense looked out of sorts.  History suggests that gets corrected.  KC has a lot of team speed and Hill put it to them.  Kamara is a touch faster than Hunt.  Hoping New Orleans plays from behind and Kamara sees the bulk of receptions.  (might be a little overly optimistic as Ingram will get his).

Take away those 2 huge plays and Hunt still has something like 150 yards. Ofcourse I am getting out ahead of myself, but as a reeling DJ owner with limited options, I am choosing to believe.

Prospective add for Kamara? I'm starting him this week. He's the lead back in New Orleans in what is likely a shootout against the Pats. Don't you guys remember how badly Hunt ate up the Pats catching passes out of the backfield?
Well I drafted him so he's not a pickup but I am probably starting him in the flex over Martavis Bryant (vs Vikes) this week. Kupp and Golladay are my other options. I like the potential shootout script.

Me too... I'm almost thinking rebuild after an injury depleted preseason and week 1:  Luck, Meredith, Ware, Beckham, DJ (dynasty)
That is a rough start. I have him in redraft, lost DJ and really don't have much else. Rob Kelley? Gross.

Any love for Andre Ellington? KerWilliams the natural pickup at RB, but with John Brown out against Indy, does Arizona throw more to Ellington?

Just a thought...

I don't think so.  I think they ran for so few because Abdullah was injured, they wasted carries by giving them to the likes of Zach Zenner at the goal line, and Stafford's broken finger slowed the entire offense in the second half.  10 is the ceiling, but my prediction is 8.  Time will tell.
Double digit TDs for Dwayne Washington? I want whatever you're smoking. I'm starting to think you might actually be Dwayne Washington

Maybe but the other J. Brown played ahead of JJ last week
I'm baffled so many like Nelson. I like Jaron Brown better. He was listed as the #2 wr in early Sept. He was hurt most of last year with an ACL tear, and was stuck behind M Floyd on dept chart the last few years. He's never had a chance to really get things going,Now is his time. He's got better size than Nelson and a better Red Zone target...and I do believe he had a 2 TD game in preseason(Not that preseason really matters).. I'll put my $$$ on Jaron Brown over Nelson for the guy to own.

lol.  That's pretty funny actually.  I am not Dwayne Washington.  I am just a Dwayne Washington slappy.  The kid has talent, and I think this season he'll get opportunity.  I don't go out on a limb for many players.  I guess he's the one I'm willing to go way against the grain on this season.  Odds are good that I'll be wrong.

P.S.

I don't smoke, I just crush a lot.

JJ Nelson had 3 double digit target games last year. He was pretty productive down the stretch last year. JJ wasn't really a part of the offense until week 6. From that point on he was paying at a 16 game pace of 827/10 17 ypc. I believe the Colts gave up 7 pass plays of 20+ yards last week. Everything is set-up for nice game. We already saw him involved last week. 6 targets, 5 catches 43 yards and a TD.

Jaron Brown had 0 targets last week. . Jaron is a pretty improbably breakout at this point. Undrafted. 5th season Almost 28 years old. Coming off a week 7 ACL tear. Has 5 TDs and 700 yards over his entire career (JJ had 568 and 6 last season).

Alex Collins was just signed to the Ravens 53 man roster.  He's just RB depth, but you never know.

I was just saying that getting 10 TDs is extremely difficult. Last year 7 RBs got 10+ rushing TDs. Blount, DJ, Zeke, McCoy, Murray, Freeman & Gordon.

He's not even the #1 on his own team, not a high draft pick, and oline is mediocre. If he scores 10 TDs I'll eat my shoe

I think Foreman is one of the few possible "league winner" pickups. It's not a clear road for him, but if he starts, I think the situation is potentially great.

Someone from OAK is another possibility but a pure injury play.
I just don't understand how people are thinking Foreman will get past Miller.

All this Kamara talk is making me want to start him at flex over Hogan.
You will be kicking yourself if you do this....Hogan should have a really good week(I own him in zero leagues)and own Kamara in 4..,with DA out and Dorsett still learning the playbook(if he can),Hogan will be a big part of the game plan. I would still like to watch how Kamara is used this week before I would even consider using him in a flex spot. With AP crying like a little ##### over his touches last week,I'm hoping it sends him to the Doghouse. I don't see Payton giving AP more touches to make him happy.. Can't wait to watch the Pats game this week.

i just grabbed george kittle.

rookie tight ends rarely make much noise on the waiver wire so i doubt you'd have to spend TOO MUCH to get him after this week.

but... there's a very good chance he's cheaper today than he will be next tuesday/wednesday.

he played almost every snap in week 1 and 6 targets is nothing to scoff at for a TE. he's also a SPARQ freak who the team really, really loved all thru camp.

if you've got the roster spot in a deep league, he's not a bad speculative add.

I agree, as I grabbed him too.

You can't bank on injuries nor do I root for them to happen....but during the season, from week to week, I try to rotate picking up back ups with some upside.

This week SF heads into Seattle......I picked up Matt Breida. I see a ton of carries for Hyde, Seattle has sent a few RB to IR over the years at home. Hyde hasn't proven he can hold up for an entire season.

Just throwing it out there.

2 that I added last night...

Corey Clement

They need a between the tackles guy to go with Sproles. Blount and Smallwood are not good at football. Clement reportedly mixing in with the 1's this week in practice.

Kasen Williams

Matt Walkman turned me on to him on the Audible. Said his sidelines skills a nice fit with Kiser. Britt seems in the doghouse. Also getting more practice tine.

I've been really struggling with having Gore on my roster in dynasty and redraft. You don't just drop a starting RB but man alive that situation sucks right now and has little end in sight. I don't think Mack takes over until the very end of the year but I don't foresee a good year for Gore either with Luck and the starting center out.

Not sure if anyone said this, but Arians came out and said Andre Ellington will be the Cards' third down receiving back.

I nabbed him as a possible flex or bye week starter in PPR.

Have you watched Miller play since joining the Texans? Watch his runs with the Texans and you will have your answer.
From what I saw Thursday, Foreman has way more burst and shake to go with some power. Miller is a guy who needs 25 carries to be effective, but effective like a blunt instrument. Foreman has way more upside imo.

The injury game is always a tough one but if you are one who is willing to go that route then James Connor seems like a must have.  I would prefer him to Breida because Bell gets hurt just as much as Hyde (although people kill Hyde for it and give Bell a pass for some reason) and I think Tomlin just loves to use one back as much, or more, than any coach in the league.

I love Shannahan RBs but he does rotate them more than Tomlin IMO and if Hyde goes down I anticipate a quick signing of Tim Hightower, which muddies the situation just a tad.

ETA: Pittsburgh also has a much better offensive line...much better team overall really, with or without Bell, that should afford more opportunities for their starting RBs.

good point on Bell.

Bell hasn't been used in the WR/slot role as much as he had in the past, at least week 1. maybe a signal to Bell as he tries to get wr and rb money, but I won't read too much into it

Connor is as good of a pickup as any for injury predictions. plus you have a back on a playoff team...

interesting analysis. I've been hard pressed to find out from folks why they like foreman. something for me to watch

Carson and Perine both on wire right now. Scoop one or both and drop someone like...Powell or Stewart?
Right now I would not pick up any Redskin. Their offense has been bad, rushing and passing, through the preseason and 1st game. Against Philly they only rushed 17 times in a close game, and Kelly was hit frequently in the backfield. Even if Perine sees the field he'll get few chances and will get hit in the backfield.  That may change over the course of the season, of course, but I'd avoid him for now.

FTR I have an open roster spot and am probably picking up Breida today, but that is because I am the Hyde owner in my league.  It's a safer play for my specific circumstance.  If I didn't have Hyde (or Bell) I would pick up Conner.

Mike Tolbert is another guy people should be considering.  I doubt he would be a season long solution for the Bills if anything happened to McCoy but I think he would be effective and flex/bye week startable for many people.

Great point! Totally agree. With that said, the number of running backs who have gone into Seattle over the last many years and have gotten injured seems pretty high. Year after year I have just noted to myself and thought with Hyde in Seattle, it seems like the perfect storm yet again.

Be careful. His use is something to watch, but I highly doubt he'll be used like Gillisilee last season. And he won't be an exclusive GL back. They gave Shady a few GL carries last week, as they should. You don't pull a Zeke or Shady on the GL.
