Pumpkin #####`? I mean I guess why not, right?I'm on the "pumpkin anything" train... LOVE me some pumpkin shakes, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin pie, pumpkin beer... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
yeah, this. There's a reason that pumpkin pie was the only pumpkin thing ten years ago. Pumpkin bread rules and I'd eat anything that ended with cheesecake. That's right, anything!Pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin seeds...all awesome and would eat anytime of the year.
All the rest...meh

We had these from trader Joe's last week. For the last 8 years or so we got in a tradition of a box of pumpkin pancakes.
Williams sanoma has some. Pretty awesome
did you enjoy with a slice of pumpkin pie?I used to love Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic. Not sure if that's still around.
It can be hard to get out to the country. I see lots of families at the lots picking out their pumpkins. Not quite the same but still good family time.Speaking of pumpkins.
You know what you don't see anymore?
People going pumpkin picking.
Just a shame. A nice family tradition gone to the wayside.
It is like Christmas...soon there will be pumpkin beer on the Fourth of July.Getting a pumpkin beer 5-10 years ago was a treat. There was only a couple of them and they only made limited quantities -- I couldn't wait for them to come out.
Now there are a million of them and they start selling them in August. Just not as much of a treat as it used to be.

And if you don't have a couple of those and are going to the store for them, you can likely find a pumpkin spice mix in those racks. For those who like pumpkin-spice coffee, if you brew in an old school 12-cup pot ... just break out the spice rack and throw the following items into the grounds before brewing:
Two pinches cinnamon
Two pinches powdered nutmeg
One pinch powdered cloves
Call a "pinch" about 1/4 teaspoon if that helps. Cloves are option, but adds a nice kick IMO.
Once you brew the coffee that way, you can control the sweetener and creamer to your preference. No need for flavored creamer.
If you use a Keurig, not sure how to replicate this. Maybe with those reusable pods and tiny spice amounts.
.
Not quite there but the local "pumpkin" ale was released in July. There's a reason though. They're limited on brewing capacity and need to be able to also brew their regular beers and other rotating/special beers, and it's their best seller so they brewed several batches. Had to start early to meet demand and it sold very well, even in July/August. Just had a guy at a beer store complain he can't get any to sell.It is like Christmas...soon there will be pumpkin beer on the Fourth of July.Getting a pumpkin beer 5-10 years ago was a treat. Got this wrong (verified as I made coffee this morning)...called "pumpkin pie mix" and also has some ginger and allspice in addition to the above. And if you don't have a couple of those and are going to the store for them, you can likely find a pumpkin spice mix in those racks. For those who like pumpkin-spice coffee, if you brew in an old school 12-cup pot ... just break out the spice rack and throw the following items into the grounds before brewing:

I put it in the cup then fill it up with fresh brewed coffee. More potent that way.Got this wrong (verified as I made coffee this morning)...called "pumpkin pie mix" and also has some ginger and allspice in addition to the above. And if you don't have a couple of those and are going to the store for them, you can likely find a pumpkin spice mix in those racks. For those who like pumpkin-spice coffee, if you brew in an old school 12-cup pot ... just break out the spice rack and throw the following items into the grounds before brewing:

So, does the fact that "every brewery in the world" makes pumpkin beer change the taste of the pumpkin ale at your favorite pub?I used to look forward to the local brewpub doing their pumpkin ale every year but now every brewery in the world does it.
Well, now I know there are better ones out there, but it used to be something that I eagerly anticipated and was the only one I knew. Now they come out in August, some are better, most are not but overall, I looked forward to it more when I waited for that specific beer in that one location. So, does the fact that "every brewery in the world" makes pumpkin beer change the taste of the pumpkin ale at your favorite pub?I used to look forward to the local brewpub doing their pumpkin ale every year but now every brewery in the world does it.
It seems like there's a pretty easy solution here.Well, now I know there are better ones out there, but it used to be something that I eagerly anticipated and was the only one I knew.
