Put together a starting lineup in your league of free agents (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12 team league and I'll put together a starting lineup consisting only of players that are currently unowned

qb Marc Bulger

rb DeShaun Foster

rb Justin Fargas

wr James Jones

wr Antwaan Randel El

te Jeff King

pk Rob Bironas

df Texans

Looking at this I think my league is weak.

qb Matt Schaub

rb Shaun Alexander

rb LenDale White

wr James Jones

wr Ike Hilliard

wr Arnaz Battle

te Desmond Clark

k Jeff Wilkins

def Lions

QB - Bulger

RB - L.Washington

RB - B.Leonard

WR - I.Hilliard

WR - N.Burleson

WR - J.Jones

TE - J.King

K - R.Bironas

DT - Dallas

All players are teh highest scoring free agents at their position

going just by highest scoring available players at each position who are not on IR:

QB - Joey Harrington

RB1 - Justin Fargas

RB2 - Kevin Faulk

WR1 - James Jones

WR2 - Michael Jenkins

WR3 - Josh Reed

TE - Jeff King

K - Nick Folk

Def - Seahawks

How deep are your rosters? There is no way any of those players are remotely available in any of my leagues. I am holding on to Michael Clayton because I know if I cut him he doesn't last a day before he is picked up.

Qb - Brooks Bollinger

Rb - Ryan Grant

Rb - Adimchinobi Echemandu

Rb - Andre Hall

Wr - Eddie Kennison

Wr - Tim Carter

Wr - James Thrash

Wr - Antonio Chatman

Te - Visanthe Shiancoe

K - Rhys Lloyd

Interesting... these are the highest ranked free agents not injured (10 team league):

QB: K. Warner (waived late week 7)

RB: J. Norwood

RB: C. Henry

WR: R. White

WR: R. Curry

TE: O. Daniels

PK: C. Brown

DF: Seahawks

I've always held that in my 12 team league, if they let you play with no roster, but instead allowed you to assemble your team with free agents after the games were played, you'd beat almost any team, any week.

Like this week, I could have played QB- Alex Smith (14), RBs- Ryan Grant (10), Justin Fargas (9), WRs-James Jones (16), D. Patten (10), TE-V. Siancoe (11), K-Bryant (11), D-Lions (20). Total: 101. Highest scorers in my league: 100, 99, 97, 94, 90.

12 team league:

QB - Joey Harrington

RB - Justin Fargas

RB - Ron Dayne

WR - David Patten

WR - Michael Jenkins

WR - Demetrius Williams

TE - Jeff King

K - Jason Hanson

DEF - Lions

16-team league:

QB - Sage Rosenfels

RB - Maurice Hicks

RB - Kevin Faulk

WR - Dennis Northcutt

WR - Troy Williamson

WR - Bobby Wade

TE - Justin Peelle

K - Matt Bryant

DEF - Cardinals

Funny...we have a 15-year old dynasty-ish type league (12 teams, rosters of 22). Goes without saying that the waiver wire is very thin.

Over the course of history, when one team is particularly bad, someone will declare its time to play "BEAT THE xxxxxx" (where "xxxxxx" is the bad team in question). Those who wish to participate can submit a lineup completely of free agents and see if we can beat the "real" team. This is done soley for entertainment and trash-talking purposes.

This happened this past weekend, and it happened to be against my actual opponent for the week. I submitted the following "BEAT THE xxxxxx" lineup, and won:

Holcomb

Droughns

Heath Evans

Isaac Bruce

Devery Hendersen

Amani Toomer

Matt Spaeth

Phil Dawson

Chargers D

(The team in question started Edwards, Lynch, Graham, Hilliard, Sydney Rice, Randel-El, Mercedes Lewis, Bironas, Vikings)

a few years ago we had this happen....and the guy actually playing against the "xxxxx" team lost his real game, but won with the "BEAT THE xxxxxx" team that he submitted. We'll never let him forget that one!

So, Mark Clayton is the difference between winning and losing in your league?

The number one K is waivers??
1) he's #4 in this league, not #12) the point difference thru week 10 between #1 and #12 is 16. 11 points between Folk and #12.3) the positions from 1-20 change rapidly from week to week. Folk might be #10 next week if he only has 1 XP and several others get a couple FGs. all luck.

Look at me I'm in a league that rosters Justin Fargas and Ike Hilliard!

Ah, The Replacements!! I did this weekly as commish when we had a last minute dropout. Had a custom schedule, and didn't want to rework everything post-draft, so this is what we came up with. Was fun for about 5-6 weeks, then was a serious nuisance. I will say tho, that The Replacements won twice.

QB1 Alex Smith

RB1 Ryan Grant

RB2 Justin Fargas (or Fred Taylor, take your pick)

WR1 James Jones

WR2 Arnaz Battle (or David Patten. Javon Walker honorable mention benchwarmer for later in the year)

WR/TE Vernon Davis (or Heath Miller)

K Neil Rackers (the best Kicker just a couple years ago!)

D Washington Redskins (my waiver claim for BYE week filler)

Always options on the wire...

Really? The injured #3 WR on Tampa is going to be picked up right away? I hope this is one of those "My league is 56 teams and rosters are 112 players" jokes.

Folk was also on a bye, in my main league he was dropped as well because we have very short benches.

Not everybody plays in 24 team leagues. You realize that Michael Clayton is so slow that George Clooney is playing him in a current movie right?
