QB Aaron Rodgers, PIT (3 Viewers)

No argument here. We're talking about A Aron sucking against good competition, though.

But elite players do it against great teams. Mahomes isnt having many problems against good teams.

Rodgers hasnt been the best in years. Players who sat for a whole year and then come in and starts are throwing 50 TDs a year. Rodgers is just another guy right now. He isnt an advantage and some times he is a liability. I have considered cutting him.

This is fantasy football, not fan football. I am a huge fan of A-A-Ron, but he is not elite any longer when ur QB 17 well behind a rook named Minshew who didnt even start his first game. Mariota, Winston and Brissett are all ahead of this guy.

THIS THREAD WAS CREATED IN 2014.  WHY ARE PEOPLE POSTING CURRENT STATS SAYING RODGERS IS NO LONGER A TOP FANTASY QB.  NO #### HE'S NOT. NOONE IS ARGUING ANY DIFFERENTLY.  AGAIN THIS THREAD WAS FROM 2014!!!!  STOP BUMPING WITH STUPID STATS THAT AREN'T RELEVANT TO THE DISCUSSION FROM 5 YEARS AGO!!! :deadhorse: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Can you speak up, I cant hear you.

I mean, are we not allowed to talk Aaron Rodgers in this thread with his name on it?

I have nothing to really base this on, other than a gut feeling, but I think Rodgers has a big week this week, even without Adams. I don't see Green Bay having any major success on the ground against the Cowboys front seven, and I would think Dallas is going to make them need somebody(MVS? Graham?) to beat man coverage. I'm expecting 45+ attempts for Rodgers.

On a related note, I think MVS is a really sneaky bet to be a top-10 WR this week, and possibly see 10+ targets.

Aaron Rodgers completed 22-of-34 passes for 238 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while adding four carries for -2 yards Sunday in Green Bay’s Week 5 win over Dallas.

Rodgers took two sacks for 23 yards as the Packers bounced back from last week's loss to Philadelphia with a convincing victory in Week 5. In a rare occurrence, the future Hall of Famer wasn't asked to do much Sunday, largely taking a backseat to Aaron Jones, who had a career day with four touchdowns on 182 yards from scrimmage (107 rushing, 75 receiving). Playing without his go-to weapon Davante Adams (who was shelved with turf toe), Rodgers had to make do with the receiving trio of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison and Jake Kumerow, which could explain his relatively lackluster stat line. Rodgers had numerous chances to put Dallas away (the Packers held a 31-3 lead at one point) but the Cowboys clawed back, cutting the deficit to 10 with 7:46 to go in the fourth quarter. It wasn't a vintage Rodgers performance but Green Bay still did well to win a tough road game without its top receiver. Next up, the Packers will host the Lions on Monday Night Football in Week 6.

A lot of years this would be a game where he has 350/3 and loses. Brees went 7-9 four times in five years. Having a defense (and an RB who can run it in from anywhere) is nice.

Nice in real football. In fantasy football 4-5 guys had a day that topped Rogers season so far.

6.

I'll say it, he isnt worthy of even rostering in redraft short bench.
Have to say that I am shocked at how far down the QB ranking he is in fantasy.

Without Adams this team seems to have nothing at WR.

it is crazy, i went into this season with rodgers, mayfield and goff and thought i was laughing. I would be better with Minshew at this point

I saw something on twitter in which the article praised LeFleurs command of this team.

He turned a future HoF still in his prime into a game manager.

They may win games, but he turned a HoFer into a guy who manages a game instead of takes it over.

You mean with Adams back in the line-up, correct?

That group in Dallas stunk out loud.

You think teams fear him watching that tape? Because he is doing what so great?

He is managing the game, as we said. If game managers are to be feared, he is the most feared for sure.

Yeah.  It sucks to have a 4-1 team.

Yeah.  It sucks to have a 4-1 team.
You may have heard no one cares about win loss for fantasy purposes and no one said 4-1 sucks anyways. Its good and I think some are complimenting Rodgers on being a great game manager.  Perhaps you can chill on the one liners and pay more attention to why we are talking Rodgers the player not Packers the team. Did I say something untrue or did the truth hurt? Rodgers is a more polished Alex Smith, at best right now.

:lmao:

Yes, clearly I need to chill.

LaFleur seems comfortable winning games rather than padding stats.  Not sure what else to say.

Well if you do say something, hopefully its about Rodgers because thats what we are talking about, not the Packers and their 4-1 record.

:insert emoji here: LeFleur is comfortable it seems and that is shown in him making Rodgers fantasy irrelevant and it not mattering to him.

Yeah.  LaFleur is comfortable winning games.  His primary concern isn’t about making Rodgers fantasy relevant.  Because they are 4-1.   Which is, you know, related to what people talk about in player threads.

So is Rogers over the cliff with respect to his fantasy relevance?

Going back to mid-2018 he's been a low/mid teens guy, and then blows up on your bench... basically like any other QB on the waiver wire.

He has a coach who loves to run the ball, and minimal weapons to throw to - basically just D Adams.   Hard to see him becoming elite anytime soon.

He has Detroit and Oakland at home then goes on the road to KC for SNF. He needs to perform in those games and if he cant, what reason do you have to even roster him? He has Washington at home Week 14 and he usual does well against Chicago at home which is wk 15. I drafted him looking at those 2 games for the playoffs because he is in a dome for SB week.

Aaron Rodgers completed 24-of-39 passes for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Packers' 23-22, Week 6 win over the Lions Monday night.

Rodgers' first score was a short one to Jamaal Williams after Aaron Jones dropped a perfectly-thrown seam pass that should have been a 33-yard touchdown. Rodgers was making incredible throws all evening but was also gifted multiple extra throws and sets of downs late in this one by some shoddy officiating. One of those gifts led directly to Rodgers' 35-yard touchdown strike to Allen Lazard, who caught all four of his passes for 65 yards and the score in the fourth quarter after coming on for an injured Geronimo Allison and benched Darrius Shepherd. Rodgers hasn't been a fantasy darling this year but will be on the back-end QB1 map next week against the Raiders.

Aaron Rodgers completed 25-of-31 passes for 429 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Packers' 42-24, Week 7 win over the Raiders, adding two rushes for six yards and an additional score.

Missing Davante Adams for the third-straight game, Rodgers came out and ethered the Raiders for the fourth most passing yards of his career. The five-TD day through the air was just the fifth of his career, while he became the first player since 1991 to post five passing touchdowns in addition to one on the ground. One of Rodgers' best throws was his first score, where he found Aaron Jones' back shoulder on a corner route in the back of the end zone. The biggest was his 74-yard TD strike to Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the fourth quarter. With the safety creeping up, MVS turned a simple out into a marathon score. Heating up, Rodgers has a gorgeous Week 8 fantasy spot in the Pack's trip to Kansas City. Adams (toe) is creeping closer to a return.

Aaron Rodgers completed 23-of-33 passes for 306 yards with three touchdowns in the Packers' Week 8 win over the Chiefs.

Rodgers came out firing after his six TD game last week. He continued to spread it around in the absence of Davante Adams, with no receiver going over 50 yards. Rodgers made a highlight cross-body throw to Jamaal Williams in the back corner of the end-zone for one of his touchdowns, with his other two going to Aaron Jones. He was also a factor in the run game, adding 29 yards on six carries. Rodgers is on pace for 4,650 yards and a 32:4 TD/INT ratio. With Adams targeting a Week 9 return, Rodgers should get a nice second-half boost.

After a horrific statistical start for him of 6 passing TDs in 5 games, he now has 10 in the last 3.

It was fair to say he was not playing elite, it is fair to say he is playing elite now.

Stats matter for fantasy obviously, winning isnt important in that sake so he wasnt elite for the first 6 weeks but he has made up the points to be QB 4 in my leagues.

Hope he keeps this up, the game is better when he is slinging it around.

He and LaFleur seem to be on the same page now.  Rodgers also realizes he doesn't always have to wing it around when he doesn't need to.  And when a team is going crazy with blitzes (like last night), they adjusted to get the ball out quick and let the receivers run after the catch (which I think GB is one of the top teams in YAC this year).

“As I rolled to the right there, I saw Jimmy Graham and I saw [Williams] wrapping behind him,” Rodgers explained. “I was actually throwing a ball that Jimmy could go up and get if he wanted to and if he didn’t, the guy behind him might be able to get. Luckily the guy behind him got it … It seemed like there was not anybody in the back of the end zone, so I felt like it was a safe throw.”

Aaron Rodgers completed 23-of-35 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 26-11, Week 9 loss to the Chargers.

Rodgers added a five-yard rush. Coming off arguably the best two-game stretch of his career, hopes were high with Rodgers getting No. 1 receiver Davante Adams back after a four-game absence. Joey Bosa, as well as the Packers' run defense, had other plans. Bosa took up residence in the Packers' backfield while the Pack's run D could never get a stop when it needed one. The Chargers gobbled up 36 minutes of possession. Not that Rodgers was blameless. Out of rhythm, he was both overthrowing passes and sending a few into the turf. It was a "burn the tape" afternoon. The Pack host the Panthers' stout pass defense for Week 10.

Anyone else thinking about selling our boy Rodgers in superflex redraft? He's got a BYE this week then SF. NYG WAS but then CHI and MIN weeks 15 and 16.

Aaron Rodgers completed 20-of-33 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the 49ers.

This was another rough game for Rodgers, who was held without a touchdown last week. He was under constant pressures, taking five sacks and checking down most of the night, where he managed 3.2 YPA. Rodgers ended up getting rested with four minutes left in the fourth quarter. Over the last three games, Rodgers is averaging only 166 yards and has just two touchdowns. The good news is Rodgers has a get-right matchup with the Giants in Week 13.

He stinks.
Its worse than that. He is emotionless. Just walks off the field with waves of Eli just looking at the screen unbuttoning his chin strap. So much lack of care and it shows. His arm is pitiful, he throws at ankles and misses wide open WRs. He was throwing off target to Adams so much last night. He over threw the deep throw he would always make in the back of the endzone and he made Adams toe tap on an easy loft for a 2 pt conv. Its beyond stinking, I think he just doesnt want to play anymore from what I see. Go back and watch that game, watch his emotions before and after the game, no different. He doesnt care. Call it trolling or a hot take, but he doesnt care in my opinion and its why I even suggest retirement. Get out before its too late, he is 35, so its not like he isnt at that age. Brady cares, you can see it in every comment and every play and missed throw. He was out there hollering at the ref about the clock in a game they won. I'm ok with speaking words of taboo about a first ballot. It falls off fast for QBs, the same will happen to him and we are seeing it.

He’s a pure matchup play at this point.  All of his high scoring games only came against (at the time) below average to bad defenses (Eagles, Lions, Raiders, Chiefs).  That’s it.

I think next week will be ok vs Giants, maybe the following week at home against Washington.  He’ll be useless in the playoffs though (vs Bears and on the road vs Zimmer)

His apathy, I think,  comes from his constant feeling that he is a victim. And that nothing is his fault. Bad coaching, bad schemes, bad players around him. And some of that may be true. But his attitude sucks. And I think it affects the whole team.
