I don't think he's elite by any means, but I just don't get the hate for him. All the "put him on (name a team) and he would suck" talk is so bizarre to me. He's not on another team, he's a 49er, so those statements are just dumb.111.3 QBR for Purdy tonight. Mediocre as F
No matter what you point to, there will continue to be loud doubt(er)s. And if/when all else fails, they'll attribute his success to Shanahan, which can't/won't be disproven anytime soon. Keep fighting for your boy, but know that you are pushing a boulder uphill in that respect.

But whatever, I'm having fun watching him take down team after team.
At that critical position, one could argue it more than makes up for the draft capital/opportunity cost wasted on Lance. What a cheat code to get a 7th round pick salary on the books and provides starting caliber nfl production.

The amount they lost on Lance is... incredible.Fair points, but who knows who they would have drafted there - and whether they’d be impact players - and it’s all sunk costs now regardless. Despite all that draft capital lost, the team has its QB and is a viable SB contender. I’d say they sidestepped that landmine - which would have set most franchises back years - pretty well.At that critical position, one could argue it more than makes up for the draft capital/opportunity cost wasted on Lance. What a cheat code to get a 7th round pick salary on the books and provides starting caliber nfl production.

It SEEMS to have worked out wonderfully for them 3yrs later. but absolutely no.
- 2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall)
- 2022 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)
- 2022 third-round pick (No. 101 overall)
- 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall)
Ditto.started him over burrow last night... and that might become a more common trend as the season goes on
Agreed - he’ll likely never be an elite fantasy asset because he doesn’t run and it’s not a high volume passing offense. But very good asset to have as a second QB in 2QB/Superflex leagues.Still not buying him as an elite fantasy asset, but is good enough to give them a chance come playoff time.
They have a shot in every game with this dude.SF looks like they could win 13-14 games.
Yeah he gets picked apart from play to play more than just about anyone I’ve ever seen. He had some miscues last night(lots of high balls, which I would prefer to see as opposed to being underthrown) but in the end he made it work(for both NFL and fantasy) like he always does. Not sure why people still doubt the kid. Yes, he's not perfect and could have been picked off twice early if not for Kittle and Deebo breaking up the plays, but my goodness he dropped some passes last night with pass rushers around him that were sweet to watch. He throws with anticipation and appears to read the game well. What's not to like from this young QB?
Me too! Started him with Burrow in question. All the haters can hate away but this kid is beating the odds.Saved my bacon tonight needing to start him over Richardson. Kid is so calm and composed back there.
Very weird that Purdy is getting beaten up today. He wasn’t perfect last night, but he absolutely was calm overall and handled the blitz well for a guy with so little experience. That said, he was also inaccurate on a number of passes, including at least one that miraculously wasn’t intercepted.Purdy is getting beat up today on social media. I'm getting burned alive on reddit.
Last night was the first time he's been tested against the house blitz over and over. He didn't look spectacular against. But he didnt fall apart either. He wasn't 'seeing ghosts' out there.
I think he passed with a C.
It's worth noting Aiyuk didn't play, who is their best receiver against man coverage. Seemed like the Giants were locking them down.
I'm not seeing that at all, but I don't follow Grant Cohn or other known 49er haters. 95% of what I've seen has been positive outside mentioning him being a little off in the 1st qtr.Purdy is getting beat up today on social media
He did start out rough for sure, but maybe I was watching a different game where he ended up tossing several accurate throws with rushers in his face for big plays.Purdy is getting beat up today on social media. I'm getting burned alive on reddit.

Getting beat up after throwing for 310yds with 2 TDs and 0 INT for a 111 qb rating in primetime?
This dude has started 12 games and he looks like an 8 year veteran with 2 super bowl appearances under his belt back there. As cool as can be.

I think with time, and perhaps some extensive therapy, I will be able to get over it. But I can't lie to you friend, it won't be easy.Purdy doesn't listen to all the outside noise, so why should we? It's all click bait nonsense.Purdy is getting beat up today on social media

Yep. Lots of below average QBs in the league.I don't follow QBR that closely, but these all seem a bit lower than I would have thought? Are there normally this many under 70?
Seems like a yes. High end qb 2 for high end rb 2 all day yeah? This might not be the right place, but I will ask anyway! Would you give Rhamondre for Purdy in a start-two QB, start-12-players dynasty? It's a TRUE start two QB league, no superflex. QBs are GOLD in this format. Thoughts?

In that format I would need more than just Rhamondre for Purdy so if you can swing that I’d do it.This might not be the right place, but I will ask anyway! Just wish we could swap out some of these efficiency metrics for more fantasy upside, but alas that’s not how it works.
If you mean a higher correlation to real life NFL value, I very much agree.Just wish we could swap out some of these efficiency metrics for more fantasy upside, but alas that’s not how it works.
Sometimes I think FF would be a lot better with a more basic scoring system.

I love Rhamondre, probably more than most, and I think I would do this in a heartbeat. I don't have nearly the same history with SF as I do start 1 leagues, but this feels like a steal value wise. I don't see any reason SF would move on from Purdy anytime soon. And with the team they have, I don't see them even having a high enough pick in the near future to take a swing at anyone that could even reasonably challenge him. This might not be the right place, but I will ask anyway! Especially since he has never lost a game when he has not blown out his elbow. My only SF leagues are redraft until we convert my longest running dynasty to SF this offseason. I can tell you right now, Purdy will be a sneaky target of mine. I'm hoping rookie fever sweeps through my league and I can snag guys like him, Goff, Love (yes even after that miserable performance lol) for less than they should be going for because of it.Especially since he has never lost a game when he has not blown out his elbow.
