Hopefully this is some sort of joke LOL
It's a very big tier and I think that it's just "whoever is there at 12" for me, but Carr has rarely been the guy in mocks. He's QB5-7 nearly every time.I've been pretty surprised in redraft leagues to see Carr going later than most of the QBs. He's consistently been the 10-12th WB drafted. I think he's the next big thing at QB and I've been able to draft him in rounds 10+.
Yeah he represents a conundrum but you could argue that he has a 50/50 chance of outscoring many of the QBs in front of him.not interested in Carr this year...several QBs going after him that have at least a 50/50 shot of outscoring him.
Also, plays KC week 14, anybody want to guess how many TDs carr had in two games vs the Chiefs last year?![]()
I just checked in 6 of my high stake redraft leagues and Carr went as the nth QB off the board as such:It's a very big tier and I think that it's just "whoever is there at 12" for me, but Carr has rarely been the guy in mocks. He's QB5-7 nearly every time.
exactly...overvalued in his tier because he is perceived as an "up and comer" as opposed to other, older guys like Rivers and Roethlisberger that can easily outscore him and actually did outscore Carr on a ppg basis last year. It's a very big tier and I think that it's just "whoever is there at 12" for me, but Carr has rarely been the guy in mocks. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms Derek Carr (questionable, back) is expected to return against the Chargers in Week 6.
Carr made a surprise return to practice this week, operating as the No. 2 quarterback behind E.J. Manuel. He'll sit out Sunday versus Baltimore, but Carr should be back under center next week as long as he can avoid setbacks. His impending return is obviously great news for lead wideouts Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.

Depends on who you are picking up off the WW. I like Carr the rest of the year though. He seems to be getting back to 2016 form and has good weapons on a team that must score to win.Is Carr worth holding through the bye? He is my only QB. Really debating whether or not I should keep him or just stream the rest of the year.
All relative sure, I guess I'm trying to gauge Carr's outlook for the rest of the season. His matchups from weeks 11-15 are all pretty good. Week 16 is a plus on paper (PHI), though the D line is nasty and can wreak havoc. Probably fair that he would at least take some shots.Depends on who you are picking up off the WW. starting Carr with confidence. seriously looking for a big shootout. And the Den matchup isn't actually tough anymore. His upcoming schedule is bananas
NE
DEN
NYG
KC
DAL
PHI
only the den matchup is tough
It's also in Oakland which will help. And the Den matchup isn't actually tough anymore.
Cooper won't need to be slowed. He will drop everythingOsweiler put up 221-1 on New England last Sunday night and he's an inch above truly terrible at best.
I love Carr this week and also think this will be a shootout. No way the Raiders' sorry defense stops Brady so Carr's gonna have to air it out a ton and I don't believe NE can slow down Crabtree, Cooper and Cook.
Good on you if you're right, but I'm thinking the entire premise is nonsense. This won't happen due to Carr's contract...but given Gruden's famous inability to stick with one starting QB, and Carr's unimpressive performance this year...the fact that Gruden has a borderline mancrush on Connor Cook is at least interesting. Should be some BS gossip articles about him secretly preferring Cook during training camp, at the least. Calling it now, will bump later.

No evidence that Gruden has a bigger crush on Cook, Carr or Fozzy Bear. Carr has the most physical and mental ability and Gruden will stick with that. Any stories to the contrary will be written for click-bait only.
Besides, all evidence suggests Cook's the biggest head case on the team.
Interesting stuff from both you and Chaka. Wasn't aware of it. Will look for it in the future. This won't happen due to Carr's contract...but given Gruden's famous inability to stick with one starting QB, and Carr's unimpressive performance this year...the fact that Gruden has a borderline mancrush on Connor Cook is at least interesting. I can see someone trying to manufacture drama but Gruden has been all sunshine-and-rainbow-unicorns with every player, coach, equipment manager, ball boy etc. in the league for the last decade.Oh, I'm not saying there will be actual Cook vs. Carr drama.
I'm just saying that because of the on the record pro-Cook stuff from Gruden's past in the media, someone will try to create QB drama with it in their first training camp. Seems inevitable. Its rare for a HC hire to be on the record about so many players, and then be in training camp with them.
Training camp is pretty much over. I don't remember any drama there....This won't happen due to Carr's contract...but given Gruden's famous inability to stick with one starting QB, and Carr's unimpressive performance this year...the fact that Gruden has a borderline mancrush on Connor Cook is at least interesting. Oh darn.Training camp is pretty much over. I don't remember any drama there....
if anything they are in love lolOh darn.
Was wondering what the hell this quote notification was gonna be lol
Rich Gannon was pretty effective under ChuckyI am willing to bet that Carr greatly outproduces his current ADP this year. I don't think he's anywhere near sniffing Top 5, and my opinion is slightly biased, but given the big upgrades in offensive weapons and support on the line, I think Carr and the Raiders are going to surprise from a fantasy perspective.
The one piece of the puzzle that makes me a little concerned with Carr and the Raiders having success is Cooper. If he can play like he is capable, the Raiders will have a really good O.I am willing to bet that Carr greatly outproduces his current ADP this year. Totally agree -- the success of both Cooper (to play at the level he's expected to, to draw coverage and open up space/coverage for Jordy/Bryant/Roberts/Switzer, etc.) and Lynch (who looks on par to how he played last year so far, but who Carr desperately needs to continue at that level to provide credible a run threat on early downs to fully leverage Gruden's extensive playbook) is going to be as meaningful to Carr's success as what he can do with his arm himself. The one piece of the puzzle that makes me a little concerned with Carr and the Raiders having success is Cooper. He's not even a top 20 QB anymore. It was a mirage.
He looks terrified out there. There were at least four passes last night that he threw away with little pressure on him and were so bad they looked like intentional grounding even though they officially weren't.
Even I, the guy with a glass half-to-three-quarters-full on Carr, saw a very tentative, scared, poor-decision-making QB out there last night. He's not even a top 20 QB anymore. It was a mirage.
