QB Jayden Daniels, WAS (1 Viewer)

Early in the season I traded Kamara and Andrews for Daniel’s a 2025 1st (top 5) and 2025 3rd.

I’m good with it.

After all the years of being tortured and humiliated by Dan Snyder...this is so nice. Having a team, staff, and players that we can be proud of. This franchise went from joke to, dare I say, a legit playoff contender in less than 1 year is just amazing. I bet free agents will no longer shun Washington either, like they have (and rightfully so) for the last few decades.

Next Gen Stats
Jayden Daniels faced four unblocked pressures in the first half, converting all four into a first down (2/2, 78 yards, 2 scrambles, 36 rush yards).

Daniels has generated +13.5 EPA against unblocked pressures, the most by any QB in a game since 2018.

Excellent win over the Browns, even with the interception and subpar completions. Baltimore, with their ferocious defense and running game, will be a very difficult game.

i was ready to sit him next weekend, but after watching Burrow carve up the Ravens, i'm not so sure.

The Browns are not to be taken seriously until Watson is out. The team is trash and are playing like they are checked out right now.

That said, good game by Daniels. Ravens are a tough test and so are his divisional games coming up.

This is a game where Daniels played a tougher defense, his RBs ran in 3 scores and he played a little more than a half and he still got 20+ points. Most things didn't go his way fantasy scoring wise but still came out with a solid effort. The Ravens are getting carved up via the pass and they can score as well so it may end up similar to the Bengals-Ravens game next week. Kid continues to surprise me with his poise and quick decision making. Super fun to watch.

I wouldn't be against starting Daniels by any means, but for whatever reason Burrow owns the Ravens D, this wasn't even Burrow's best game against the Ravens in his career.

FWIW in dynasty I was offered the following for Daniels:

'25 1st
'26 1st

'25 1st
'25 4th
'25 8th
Tua

I'm holding for the time being. I have Lamar too so I have a nice little committee going (I'll for sure start the wrong one at the wrong time)

Jayden Daniels completed 24-of-35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 22 rushing yards on six carries in the Commanders’ 30-23, Week 6 loss to the Ravens.

Daniels got off to a slow start early but did connect with Terry McLaurin on a two-yard touchdown late in the second quarter. Playing catch-up for much of the afternoon, Daniels let it rip in the second half, throwing for 138/1 in the final two quarters with three of his passes going for 20-plus yards. [He had low rushing numbers] but still delivered another solid fantasy day for his managers. He’ll have a much easier matchup in Week 7 when the Commanders play host to the Panthers.

In what was one of his "toughest" matchups and didn't really run the ball much at all, he still put up 20+ FP.

Washington keeping this close is more impressive than any of their wins so far.

Jayden just keeps producing at such a high level, and yesterday it was hardly with his legs either.

Stud and I don't know if there's any other fantasy QB I rather start these days.

Long-time, long-suffering passionate WFT'skins fan, here, as many know.

I had my doubts about Daniels during the pre-Draft process, and, at the time, would have preferred they drafted Maye.

I was wrong about Daniels, and am very pleased with his showing so far. The kid is one cool customer.

Humble too; I love that - Robert Griffin he's not, and in more ways than one: Daniels is much more a QB who's an athlete vs an athlete playing QB.

I'm still concerned that his slight build puts him in danger of getting hurt, and missing time.

However: while he might be well be, or become, an elite rusher and elite passer (he seems to be on the right track), he is not currently, and may never become, an elite processor (although that, too, may come in time).

Matt Waldman's Top 10 points some of this out, for those who have access to it.

Sure hoping the developmental arc continues to increase. Haven't seen QB play like this for the WFT'skins since...well, it's been a long, long time. Probably 25 years, or so...maybe Brad Johnson? That would have been around the turn of the century. My God.

I remain cautiously optimistic (very bruised and battered from the Snyder regime).
As a prospect he seemed very much like Lamar Jackson but a much more accurate thrower.

Lots of talk about the Vikings giving 2 1st round picks + trying to move up and the rumor was always Drake Maye.

I didn't like that at all. To me if they were going to do that it should be for Daniels.

He has played better than anyone would have dreamed.

You guys made the right choice.

Medical opinion based on almost nothing other than him smiling ear to ear and hoping along the sidelines in the 2nd Half
Ribs - Flak Jacket and he'll be god to go

Yeah, not sure but I think he landed on the ball with 2 defenders on top of him on the first run of the day. Ball went into left rib cage. Adrenaline got him through a few more plays. Probably bruised ribs. Could see them sitting him a week. Definitely needs to fully recover before they roll him out there. This is about more than 2024.

Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports initial tests on Sunday showed no fractures to Jayden Daniels’ ribs after Sunday’s win over the Panthers.
As head coach Dan Quinn said after the game, Daniels will undergo more tests on Monday to determine the severity of his injury, but for the time being, it sounds like the rookie dodged any serious injury in Sunday’s win. Daniels and the Commanders have a big tilt with the Bears and No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams on tap for Week 8. If he can suit up, Daniels will profile as a high-end QB1 for fantasy. If he can’t play, it will be Marcus Mariota making his first start of the 2024 campaign. Mariota threw for an impressive 205/2 and completed 78.3 percent of his passes in relief of Daniels in Week 7.

Targeted and drafted him late in all 4 of my leagues this year based on my personal assessment of his talent, but I have to say that I am not at all surprised by this injury. He is very small framed and a superb scrambler, which is a dangerous combination. I also drafted Love, anticipating this probability.

He was SO close to breaking that opening run for like a 90 yard TD. It's a shame as if he scores there, he wouldn't have gotten injured.

Brutal injury for a great player and for fantasy. He would've had huge numbers against CAR.
Not very serious, right? He should heal and be good to go soon. Don’t own any Commanders, but love Jayden. Wanted the Giants to find a way to land him. Glad we got Nabers, but trade Nabers and 2 firsts for Jayden.

I’d bet he sits this week and they look to week 9, a division game at New York. They have division games 3 of their next 5.

Say what you will about the Bears but their 4 wins have come against opponents that now have a combined 6 total wins. I think the Commanders will take their chance at home against them.

Brutal? 🤔
I guess more for fantasy, but yeah it was brutal to have him leave 10 plays into the game in a game where he would've put up big points.
It's likely to cause me a couple losses so it was brutal for me.
Yep, unfortunately I started Daniels, Tyreek and Jameson so a pretty terrible week.

Yeah, not just having even an average day cost me this week. (that and losing Aiyuk in game too.
