But memories of RGIII have to make Washington fans a little nervous. Even as an Eagles fan, I hope Washington surrounds Jayden with a competent supporting cast, he deserves every opportunity to grow into an all time great.

The only comp between Jayden and RGIII are the wheels. Jayden can see the field far better and is a much better passer. Jayden looks special!!!

Jayden was running hurry up, calling everything at the line, audibling and changing protections, all within the scheme of a legit nfl passing offense. Griffin was doing none of that in a RPO offense that mostly asked him to hit the first read on the pass portion. Massive difference between what they were actually doing on the field. Even still, Griffin became a turd in the off-season after his rookie year. Major, major turd. Daniels has been the exact reverse opposite.

They can only run the offense the coaches let them run. At least early in the year, everything I read and heard on Daniels was they gave him a very simplified offense. Ben Johnson is getting criticism now for not doing the same with Caleb. But ultimately, QBs run the scheme the coaches ask for and both did so we great effectiveness and efficiency.

Which was incredibly disappointing mind you because we were sold this guy who was married and graduated college early and was super mature and all around great guy. Then you peel it back and he leaves his wife and kids for another woman, was a communication major, was incredibly insecure about Cousins, all about himself in the media and locker room…it was night and day.

So far Jayden has been the exact opposite of all that, plus he is actually a great pocket passer. He’s everything Robert wasn’t. Forget a slump, dude is going to be better and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the league.

That is good to hear because that wasn't always the case in college. He took some of the most ridiculous and unnecessary hits I've ever seen from a QB and when he left Arizona State there were videos and reports of many team mates celebrating his departure.

That's what I thought. Allen, Jackson, Hurts, and Burrow are the QBs gone so far. 10 team league, so many are likely looking for late QB bargains. I really thought Daniels would go much higher. Maybe an over-reaction to the McLaurin situation.

I will 100% stick with Achane but the last spot is a toss up. I have always leaned JT, but the value for Brown is sooo much better so have pivoted to CB. However when doing mocks I hate not having a running QB like Jayden on my team again.

I'm seeing it the same way you are. In a vacuum I probably prefer Daniels to Brown, but the idea of having an Achane/Brown backfield and only being out your 7th and 8th round picks is much better roster construction in my opinion.

I think it was pretty telling that when Tunsil was traded the Texans thread posters were happy about it. Their thread title was Tunsil false starts on his way to the airport. Tunsil as talented as he may be comes with a bunch of red flags. Notably, being toxic in the room and having work ethic issues.

Deebo is what he is, there is no form to return to. He'll miss a few games, be banged up for a bunch of others and end the year with like 700 total yards and a handful of TDs. Guys with conditioning questions don't usually get in shape as they get older and bank a ton of money. You either have that work ethic or you don't.

Fantasy wise, maybe Daniels doesn't take a step back. Their defense is still middling and they're probably going to get run all over since they didn't other to shore up their run defense. I think they may be playing from behind more as their on paper schedule should be harder. WAS won 8 1 possession games last year. There is a poster that studies this and noted that teams that win a bunch of 1 score games usually regress and lose more games the next season (i think it was something like -3 games difference). I'm waiting for him to look at teams from 2024 and run his projections. My guess is he'll have WAS as a regression candidate.

Huge test. I'm a WAS fan but playing against Jayden and Ekeler in my biggest $$ league.

That said, I hope he goes off in prime time. The Packers D is one of the best in the league and Micah is just ramping up. So Daniels playmaking ability will be paramount. I hope he goes up and down the field and Deebo and Bill get all rushing TDs. Lol.

FF wise, I think Jayden's rushing ability keeps his floor high. If GB is able to shut that down I'll be furher impressed. But putting my money on JD5.

PFF had Tunsil rated as the 6th overall best pass blocking T in week 1. He did allow a sack and have a holding call but overall he was very good.

I saw somewhere that Parsons played 22 of his 29 snaps over Detroit's all pro RT Sewell. WAS has 1st round rookie Conerly at RT who I thought played decent but graded pretty poorly by PFF. He will def have some growing pains and I'd imagine they will put Parsons on that side again. WAS will have to help him on every snap that Parsons is over there unless it's a WR screen or something like that.

yeah a short week is more talent vs talent rather than game plan vs game plan.

dont get me wrong, there is game planning, but you dont have the time to do nearly as much of it on a short week. so that favors the team with more talent.

as a general rule, with less prep time that favors the defense a bit. so I expected the offenses to be a little sluggish. though admittedly Green Bay's offense looked pretty good.

Kingsbury was calling in some pretty uninspired offense for a large majority of the game. Run Ekeler into a wall and three long wasn't working but they kept trying it. Still feel like he hasn't figured out how best to use Deebo, and Terry still feels like he's shaking some rust off. Their other pass catchers are just very mediocre.

Always tough to go on the road against a suped up team like GB on TNF.

But I thought the general sense of urgency the whole night here was off. Daniels included.

yeah a short week is more talent vs talent rather than game plan vs game plan.

dont get me wrong, there is game planning, but you dont have the time to do nearly as much of it on a short week. so that favors the team with more talent.

as a general rule, with less prep time that favors the defense a bit. so I expected the offenses to be a little sluggish. though admittedly Green Bay's offense looked pretty good.

I also meant to add early in the season.

Definitely gets a pass for this game. They team looked unprepared and uninspired. Short week, disengaged coaching, 1 practice day, out of synch with McLaurin .... it's was all of the above. The thing is Daniels relies heavily on game film prep. There wasn't a lot of time to prep for a revised and upgraded GB defense. Even if he gets a slight sophomore slump, the dude is still very good and is among the best in the NFL at throwing the rock. He will be fine.

play calling was AWFUL, and he just looked off last night. I'd say that was probably his worst game as a pro. He just missed some throws that he always seems to make. I wonder if the wrist injury affected him last night? I expect a nice bounce back next week.

There's not a lot of film on the Packers de with Micah in it. I think it'll be hard for teams to scheme against Green Bay for a while. But Daniels will be fine. Not worried.

There was just nothing there. It wasn’t as if he was sailing open receivers. The pass rush just took everything away. Play action was non existent as Packers didn’t respect the rush. So they just pinned their ears back. Very impressed that Daniels didn’t quit. My only negative reaction is he made some bad RPO reads. I think he will be great once they gel. Deebo is a great addition. McLaurin will come on. And they will face softer defensive fronts than the Giants and Packers in coming weeks. Daniels will eat those teams alive. And the 10 day rest will help them
