QB Joe Burrow, CIN (4 Viewers)

As a Steeler fan, I'm betting he is fine. Of course everyone will panic and overreact. Scheffter was out of breath yesterday he was so overwhelmed by this. He has over a month to do next to nothing and still be in shape and ready for the opener.

I'm surprised Zac has not taken more heat about Burrow wearing a sleeve on the calf that was injured. If he was injured why did they have him out there? I'm not throwing shade just have not heard a ton on what happened prior the injury. Why the sleeve?

What I’d heard on the radio is he aggravated an already touchy calf.

So yeah, I agree - what was he doing out there playing through injury in a meaningless drill?

So not sure the chase thread I found was one to be bumped or not but just curious, overall do most think chase at 2 is still the play? I'm sure Joe will be fine, just hope tho it isn't anything nagging throughout the season to hamper Chase. Got a draft Monday at #2, this little snag couldn't have happened at a worse time lol

There’s about six weeks until the season starts. It’s hard to imagine (based on the reports) Burrow is in danger of not being ready Week 1, but can always go Eckler of CMC if you’re too worried.

Yea that was my thought but I'm pretty confident in Chase and burrow being fine, it's just more of me thinkin out loud. But yea Im all aboard the chase train.

Still the play for me.

I see no reason Burrow won’t be ok for the season, barring a setback.

Bloom’s article on QB Tiers posted today notes a ‘camp groin injury’ for Burrow…is this just a reporting error?

Still several weeks away, injury looked pretty gnarly when it happened
When do we talk about Joe Burrow missing Week 1 and how many games into the season before he takes the field?

FLM on RTS is printing this

According to Adam Caplan via XM...we'd know if this injury was impacting Week 1. The fact that it's pretty quiet is good.

Doesn't mean crap but I just had a calf injury. Sucked. I think it was worse than what Joe has. I'm good now but took like 6 weeks

Is there any concern they haven't extended Burrow yet? I figured this would be done by now.
It is starting to get to that point where it's concerning. It's odd because there has been so much chatter of him "taking one for the team" in his contract in order to go for titles. I think there was at least one quote of Burrow himself to that end? If I'm not mistaken.

I find it surprising, that's for sure.

Wonder if Burrow is asking for a DeShaun deal.
Could be. I'm wondering if it's a cash deal - the part about the team having to keep cash in escrow for any guaranteed dollars. With him and then Chase coming up that's a load of dough that family would have to pony up as cash.

Unless they changed that rule.

Bengals OC Brian Callahan said the team has “a good plan in place for [Joe Burrow] to get ready for Week 1.”
Burrow returned to practice on Wednesday and appears to be trending in the right direction with a little more than a week to go until the Bengals open the season against the Browns. Wednesday marked Burrow’s first return to the field since he suffered a calf strain early in training camp, but the team has been cautious with him over the last month. If Burrow does suit up, he’s a high-end QB1 in an offense that features some of the league’s best receivers.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports Joe Burrow’s mobility could be limited in Week 1 against the Browns.

Dealing with a lingering calf injury, Burrow — who returned to practice this week as part of a top-secret plan hatched by Bengals brass — should be able to suit up for the season opener against Cleveland. A potentially gimpy Burrow will face a ferocious Browns pass rush headed by Myles Garrett. Cleveland’s defense could be a decent Week 1 option for fantasy managers, and Burrow should be started as a low-end QB1.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor said Joe Burrow (calf) is “day-to-day” leading up to the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Browns.

Taylor stopped short of saying Burrow would be ready for Week 1, but he’s undoubtedly trending in that direction. The Bengals’ signal-caller returned to practice last week, and the team said they had a “good plan in place” to get him on the field in time for the opener. Barring any setbacks, we’d assume Burrow will be ready to go for Week 1, although he could deal with some limited mobility. He’s a top-12 fantasy option if he’s able to go.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports there is “confidence” the Bengals get a new deal done with Joe Burrow before the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Browns.
As Rapoport notes, Burrow will likely be the highest-paid quarterback in the league once his new contract is signed, it’s just a matter of the deal getting done. Burrow signing a new deal was always a matter of when, not if, and it sounds like it could come down within the next few days. Burrow is entering his fourth year in the league, and is already under contract through 2024. The former No. 1 overall pick has already made an appearance in the Super Bowl, and is often in the conversation as one of the top two quarterbacks in the league. While he’s still waiting on his first MVP award, Burrow’s impact on a Bengals team in desperate need of a franchise quarterback has been felt from the moment he stepped in the building. The Bengals getting an extension done with him sooner than later would serve to benefit them, as they will soon have to figure out new deals for Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase in the very near future.

Burrow had talked up being a team 1st guy, and not needing to be the highest paid guy, and being like Tom Brady.

I'm a little disappointed but not surprised.
