Well my other QBs are AR, Tua and Levi’s, so…Probably a dumb play today.Might be facing some tough weather conditions, so may want to temper expectations.

I mean, he's using everybody. Pittman Jr. is relevant again. Downs is relevant. He's still throwing deep to Pierce and Mitchell. Even MAC is relevant...Joe Flacco completed 33-of-44 passes for 359 yards and three touchdowns in the Colts’ 37-34, Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.
Doing the only thing he knows how to, Flacco ripped chunk gains all afternoon as his 359 yards were the third most of his “second decade” since his improbable 2023 Browns comeback. He found six different pass catchers for a conversion of at least 18 yards, and four for 20-plus. That includes 46- and 65-yard fourth quarter strikes to Alec Pierce, with the former ending up at the Jaguars’ one-yard line and the latter in the end zone. Flacco plays in-rhythm, pass-happy football in a way increasingly few signal callers do since the end of the Brees/Brady/Manning golden age. For whatever reason, he’s barely even having the turnover-fests that marred his pre-Browns years. You could argue he is easily the Colts’ best quarterback bet if they are actually interested in winning this season, but developing Anthony Richardson will probably still take the day. Richardson seems genuinely questionable with his oblique issue ahead of Week 6 against the Titans.

Joe Flacco?
IN 2024?
Started Joe over Mahomes, sad to have to make that choice. We will see what Mahomes does, but that move probably will be the reason I win.
Not exactly a confident definitive answer from the article:
I imagine Steichen (or the bosses upstairs) won't want to immediately go back to Richardson just yet to save face. Granted, it was the Vikings in Minnesota, which is a tough matchup for anyone, but I can't imagine they'll continue to roll with Flacco for many more games if they keep losing and fall out of the race."Right now, yes," Steichen replied when asked if Flacco is still his starter.

The #Colts will start QB Joe Flacco Sunday, with Anthony Richardson battling back and foot soreness this week. He did not practice all week and has been downgraded to out.
Not sure that changes anything for the Browns as far as drafting a QB highly, but its a little interesting they did this before the draft. Would imagine its Pickett starting with Flacco as the #2 as of now.
Breakdown of QB Joe Flacco’s contract with the Browns
I always want a QB to just say something like:
Cleveland Browns reporter names early standout of QB competition, favorite to start in Week 1
... there’s an early standout to this point.
The Athletic‘s Zac Jackson wrote in his OTA observations that Flacco ‘should be’ well ahead of Gabriel and Sanders. The 40-year-old quarterback is also throwing the ball better than anyone else in practice and he’s demonstrated he can ‘rip it’ in practice. As of now, Flacco is the favorite to win the job.
...Not only does Flacco have the liveliest arm among Browns’ quarterbacks, but he also is familiar with Kevin O’Connell’s system. Having started five games for Cleveland in 2023, the current leader atop the Browns’ depth chart seems to have the physical and mental advantage as of now.
The OL is the biggest concern. I think Stefanski can put the skill guys they have in place and be successful enough. They are also trying to get Bond more involved which would be useful if he can become a threat on deep balls. But the OL will be hard to overcome especially if they are not able to run the ball effectively because of it.Joe is smart and very aware. Unfortunately, he's saddled with mediocre WRs and yet more injuries to the OL. With the right surrounding cast, he'd be decent.
His lack of mobility and offensive lineman are killing him, not to mention the poor throws and drops.Joe Flacco completed 16-of-34 passes for 184 yards and two interceptions in the Browns’ 34-10, Week 4 loss to the Lions.
Flacco earned himself a few more starts last week with an upset win over the Packers. He might have given them all back today with a dreadful showing in Detroit. He looked out of sync with his receivers on both of his interceptions. The first was a heave to Cedric Tillman who stopped on his route, resulting in an overthrow of more than 10 yards. The second was a toss to Jerry Jeudy, who was blanketed in coverage by D.J. Reed. Jeudy lobbied for a pass-interference call while Reed sprinted to the goal line, coming up a few yards short of a pick-six. Flacco also took a trio of sacks and gave way to Dillon Gabriel at the end of the game. Flacco will likely start again next week, but his leash grows shorter with every loss. He is a low-end QB2 for Week 5 against the Vikings.

The Browns' depth chart at QB this week ...
1) Dillon Gabriel
2) Joe Flacco
3) Shedeur Sanders
So if Gabriel goes down, the Browns would turn back to Flacco.
So stupid. Browns can't get out of their own way. Flacco is washed. He should be the #3 emergency QB. Gotta see what these rooks got.Albert Breer

Lawrence Jackson Jr.
Joe Flacco’s 4 starts this season:
Completed 58% of passes
Avg 203 passing YPG (40 pass att per game)
2 TD 6 INT and 60.3 passer rating
Browns 1-3 record
Valuable reps was lost for young QBs imo, but I could be wrong and just don’t understand—- better late than never
Couldn't disagree more. If Gabriel goes down in-game, you want a veteran that didn't get any practice reps playing. That doesn't mean they're starting the next week though. Get the 5th round rookie a week of practice under their belt with a game plan then put that veteran backing them up.So stupid. Browns can't get out of their own way. Flacco is washed. The only decision that matters to the board population is “avoid all of them for fantasy purposes.” And I think most have done that.Couldn't disagree more. I get it's easy to kick this team, I'm used to it by now, but many on this board are not demonstrating sound decision making when it comes to this team's QB situation.
