QB Joe Flacco, CIN (8 Viewers)

@RapSheet

#Bengals QB Joe Flacco is dealing with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder & his status is up in the air for Sunday vs the #Bears, sources say. Flacco left the loss to the #Jets, then came back late. Coach Zac Taylor called him day-to-day. Jake Browning is the backup.
Urggg. Not good for us Bengals skill position owners.
I thought it was just day to day. No concern yet but yeah a 40 year old with this is something to note. The over under in this game is 53 points

How hilarious is it that so many of us are happy Joe is looking like he playing this week? It's 2025 for goodness sake, but I'm thrilled.

He's absolutely critical to my team's success, and he's not even on my roster...
Not only do I have Chase, but on the same roster I have Hurts and am counting on Flacco as my bye week replacement.

LFG . . . or I'm stuck with Geno. 😬🔫

I traded away Chase Brown(+DK for Jalen Hurts) who has a great ROS rushing schedule, out of fear of Joe Flacco breaking down. I don't wish injury on Flacco at all, but the thought of Jake Browning starting and tanking Chase Brown's value again in one season is too much for me. Its basically like fool me once but not gonna fool me twice logic.

I don't think my league caught on to the fact Flacco is getting injections.

Friday update, how we feel?
Like someone hitting the waiver wire for my Flacco/Purdy/Fields and Flacco/Kyler teams.

I have a Flacco/Kyler where my 3rd option is Geno. Not great Bob.
Also facing starting Geno. And although it's not great Bob, he IS getting Bowers back and had a couple of stalwart efforts early on before Bowers went out.
I’d try and pick up someone else

Die nasty situation. Only "starter" left is Mac Jones.

Flacco was my Hurts fill in.

Not great menobrown. I mean Bob.

And he is playing the Jags…,only 8 sacks in 7 games. Also Eric Murray placed on IR today, so Bowers should feast

I'd rather roll with Mac or Brissett if available.

Did you forget the Geno effect? :oldunsure:

After reading a few Bengals beat writers last night I can say they all expect him to play.

One of them said the Sean Clifford call up was because that was necessary for him to be the emergency third QB.

I’m sure Shefter and Rapaport will update us but way I think this goes is he’s going to start. Risk of early exit is high, but he’d be hard to bench or cut for the Mac Jones and Geno types.

Whether he plays or not, do you downgrade Chase Brown a little bit vs a lot?

Probably benching for S. Darnold in a superflex league. Risk of aggravation seems pretty high. Although may drop Flacco for Mac Jones just to block my opponent. Flacco with a bye next week too.

Winnable game with Joe, still alive as a team, if they didn't blow it to the jets last week I think he sits and gets through the bye

Flacco is 40 something, there is no tomorrow.
