QB Justin Herbert, LAC (2 Viewers)

The narrative on this guy has been funny.

Had 2 amazing seasons to start his career, then got stuck with bad coaching and rosters and

"wow I dunno what people see in this guy"

Now he is like QB5/6 on the season.

Arm talent folks dream about, great leadership (and hair when he wants)

What are the naysayers saying now?

He doesn't act very well in his commercials

no one is answering me in WDIS
Herbert tonight vs MN or Baker @ NO sunday??

Also starting Ladd & probably vidal which scares me haha
IDK...I'd lean Herbert. At least he has all his WR's and a break out candidate at TE and is at home. Baker is down so many weapons. He can only do so much as well.

Justin Herbert showing the world why he’s that dude.

And the improvement has come from his ability to improvise….Never seen him do it quite like this.

Ryan DePaul
And just like that… Justin Herbert has more completions than any player in NFL history in their first 6 seasons.
that's kind of shocking

I'm actually not shocked when I see that. I just . . .I mean the advanced stats aren't incredible when you look at them, but I'm not positive what they can convey at some point because damn sometimes the "ayes" and eyes have it. Dude was built in a lab. He throws balls like 45 yards flat-footed. It's silly.

I will be hoping Baker has a big game vs NO and looking to move him next week I think. Riding w/ Herbert.
OL back. Pass a ton. rushing upside. Good enough weapons.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (hand) has been diagnosed with a metacarpal fracture in his left hand, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Herbert suffered the fracture during his team's Week 13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and was able to finish the game after a brief absence. Rapoport reports that Herbert is scheduled to undergo surgery, but that the plan is for him to be active for the Chargers' Week 14 Monday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Herbert completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 151 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against Las Vegas. If Herbert were to suffer a setback or be unable to play in Week 14, backup quarterback Trey Lance would be in line to start for the Chargers against the Eagles. For now, fantasy managers should proceed as though Herbert will play, although he likely won't be at full strength.--Will Brady

Man, as someone whose main team has McConkey and Gadsden and who rosters Herbert in his other dynasty league where he's number seven in the league for points scored, this is quite the sandwich de garbage. He's a tough guy, but I don't see how he takes a snap and L.A. letting him risk further injury is just . . . his team should do right by him and not let him play if there's any risk of debilitation in any way. Gotta probably hope the young man is okay and act like this is your guy and eight weeks or whatever is eight weeks and next time we'll make sure we put a line with depth around the guy we had throwing at what was an astounding rate.

Sounds like a lot of word games then Lance starts MNF.
I dunno - it’s his non-throwing hand, and he played 3 quarters of football with it.

Post surgery they’ll tape it up to stabilize it - from what Herber is saying it comes down to pain tolerance and he’s planning on playing.

This is a dude who played through plantar fascia last year, so if it’s only about pain tolerance, I’d expect him out there.

I also think he'll play as long as he gets medical clearance, which it sounds like there will be, and it's just a matter of whether he can snap the ball effectively. There is definitely motivation to have him out there though even if not 100%, as the playoffs are on the line for the team. Can't imagine a world where they'd want their playoff hopes to rest with Lance unless absolutely necessary.

Rodgers was wearing a big mitten, aircast thingie in the last game. I'd expect Herbert may have something similar on. May slightly limit handing the ball off to one side or another like it did Rodgers but that may be it unless he takes a hard fall on it or something

Rodgers broke his wrist though. Herbert’s is a finger injury, so likely a lot easier to manage.

But, harder to handle balls.

That's what she said....

Read some stuff yesterday that his injury will be more stable after surgery then it was when he re-entered the game this past week.

So I think he's going to play but might exit in some short yardage and goal line situations and in general run less which has been great to see from him this year. So playing, but taking a little fantasy hit is how I see this going down.

With missing 2 starting OTs and a hungry/desperate Eagles team coming in, this seems like a big risk to take.

With that said, its definitely hard to target the opposing QB's hand, per se, but I'd expect the Eagles to try to knock him around as much as possible.

He’s mobile enough to avoid a lot of contact - very underrated attribute of Herbert’s game. I’ve been saying this for a while, but it seems like unless he’s playing in a prime time game everyone forgets about his mobility.

It’s also going to depend on which Eagles defense shows up. With Vidal looking solid and Hampton expected back, it could be a long day for the Eagles D out there if they play like they did last week.
