Warm weather helps his small hands grip the ball better with his XS gloves.
I'm that guy I guess, but I'll still say, I think Pickett is better than he showed in Pittsburgh, and that almost any QB would have struggled with Canada calling plays. Had 1 game without Canada, and it was his best game of the season.
Not saying he's some secret superstar or anything, but I definitely think he's better than Skyler Thompson or Mike White. I think Mike McDaniel could scheme him up some, and Tyreek/Waddle/Achane is a hell of a lot better than anything the Steelers had.
I'd be ok throwing a day 3 pick to Philly for Pickett. I also like Tanner McKee (and always have, I thought he was a day 2 prospect inn bis draft, with Matt Schaub potential) as a backup for Hurts.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I start having recurring nightmares of when Kenny Pickett was a Pittsburgh Steeler. Kenny was a quarterback with hands so small, he could barely grip the ball, let alone throw it over the middle. His sense of entitlement and constant whining made every game feel like a soap opera with a tragic ending

Kenny had one very good year for Pitt. Aside from that he really hasn’t shown much, either in college or NFL.

Pickett has a ring already and brings a great amount of Playoff experience leading the Eagles from the bench to the Super Bowl last season

The thing about Pickett is that he was absolutely on fire during 2023 training camp & pre-season. It obviously all fell apart...but I could easily see him winning this job against Flacco and whoever they wind up drafting on Day2.

I think he's the odd man out here. What the Browns did with their QB room was "interesting". Flacco should be the starter. Cutting a third rounder before the season would be on brand, but i think they saw something they liked in Gabriel. Sanders has upside to be a starter at some point if he goes to work and keeps his attitude in check. I think that leaves Pickett on the outside looking in.
He's not wrong. Doesn't mean Pickett would have panned out, but he also got next to no help at all.
I am in the minority here but I think Flacco misses out. They wont learn anything by playing him and they wont make the playoffs either. I am not a Flacco hater , but given they have 2 questions of rookie picks on the roster you kind of have to see if Pickett can make it or not.
I'd honestly be pretty surprised if they don't just keep all 4 guys.
That would be the most Cleveland thing ever. Maybe they work an IRD of some sort?

I don’t know if Kenny Pickett will ever develop into a decent quarterback but there is zero doubt that Mason Rudolph was a massive improvement when he replaced Pickett in 2023.

How hilarious would it be if they put Dillon or Sanders on taxi and they got scooped by another team? Being Cleveland...I could totally see them thinking one of them would be safe on their taxi.

I've added Pickett for free in all my Superflex leagues where he's available. He has as good a shot as any of the Browns QBs to start games. The ceiling is low, but a starter is a starter.

Strongly disagree, in the new NFL there aren't enough reps to go around to multiple quarterbacks, let alone 4. This dynamic is what contributed to Pickett's dysfunctional experience in Pittsburgh.

Bradshaw has been smoking too much Alabama Kush.
They drafted George Pickens in the second round in the same draft, and Calvin Austin in the fourth and Broderick Jones in the first the following year. That's the definition of trying to build around him.
They cut bait on Pickett in year three because they didn't think he'd ever be good enough. But they still added two OL in the first and second last year.

Camp arms don't get duplicate reps. They step in when the starters need, or are scheduled for, a break and are usually gone within days.
There are nowhere near enough reps to go around and still get a starter ready to open the season. The primary decision on the season starter was probably made during OTAs. We'll never hear about that but it's the likely scenario.
