I will admit last minute I got cold feet and sat Kyler for Goff. Not sure I want to make that same mistake

I was a little surprised at the lack of scrambling and designed runs for Murray. The kid is crazy fast, thought they would use it more. With out more rushing, I am not sure Kyler is really any better fantasy wise than many other options and is a match up play. Probably going to sit him again next week, but boy was that last quarter fun to watch.

Kingsbury's offense projected to more plays.
Good start for Kyler. Volume when playing catch-up looks good.
Lets see if Kingsbury's offense can generate more plays to reach volume based on higher snap counts.

If you saw what looked like a possible late hit on the sideline late in the game... in real time it looked like someone took a big shot at him, flipped him. The replay shows the DB's forearm graze KM's lower leg.
Guy is tiny.

please. if you watched, he also tried to jump out of the way and kick his feet from under himself to prevent getting rolled up on. he didnt get hit at all but tried to make it look like he did
The Lions have proven themselves gracious hosts to rookie QBs, and Baltimore will be tougher. But I’ll say as a doubter of this offense (more of Kingsbury than Murray — and I still have my doubts about Kingsbury) the game script possibilities that people talked about showed yesterday. I wasn’t able to see anything but the end of the 4th quarter so I only saw the good. I have a feeling we’ll see the fuller implications of the line troubles next week, so that’ll be a good test of whether he can still produce off of volume even with that line.

I saw the play, his weight was back as he was slowing down and got hit low from behind and it took his feet out from under him. Not sure his size was the issue there. I agree he is small and it looks like they are trying to keep him alive. I just thought he would take off more. Running 5 wide often leaves the middle of the field open if the D-line isn't disciplined.

That was a hell of a flop if that is the case.
I couldn't hear the commentary, but i saw him flip from a forearm to the shin - not even a full forearm.
eta - regardless his size is absolutely a reason they are holding back on carries.

Yeah, I was disappointed by the lack of running but he really has to pick his spots at his stature. I suspect he’ll run a bit more as he gets more comfortable against NFL speed

Yea I am heavily invested in Murray and was happy with what I saw as a passer, but I am a little concerned that they seemed to be going out of their way to not have him run much.Milkman said:
Hopefully that picks up in the future because that is the key to his value.
He also seemed to struggle a bit getting away from linemen/lbs in the backfield.

He loops around a lot and he's not a traditional pocket passer. He needs to learn how to step up and shift within the pocket.

I've seen him do that. He can do that. It was his first game. Overall I give him a A- but admittedly if he doesn't start running he'll probably not hit the crazy ceiling he has.

Starting this week with confidence. We saw his potential for 1 quarter last weekend. He will have his struggles and the Ravens are going to cause some. But the kid is special and he and Kliff will get this figured out sooner than later.

probably starting over Goff. Goff is gome and hes way better at home, but kyler outscored him in roughly 1 quarter last week... cant wait to see what he looks like when comfortable for an entire game

Agreed. If he's reluctant to take off with the ball then his FF upside isn't super exciting. I'd much rather have Lamar Jackson over him in 4 pass TD redraft leagues.

Not ready to say that yet but I can see the logic. Air Raid can still be magic and being d ou wn 3 scores running 5 wide gets me super excited still.
You gotta love the volume. Kyler had 89 snaps! I was most skeptical that Kingsbury's plan would be hindered by the D and OL, but ARI had more snaps than any other team. Kyler looked bad to start, but heated up late. There is no way Kyler finishes outside the top 10 if ARI can continue to log that many snaps.

Yeah, fair enough. If Kyler starts running then it's no contest since he'll likely have the better passing numbers from here on out(Lamar won't be feasting on a deflated team most weeks).

that's an easy decision on my part. personally I'm surprised you didnt drop him for Cousins
I still have faith in Jameis, but I know if I don't jump on Kyler, someone else may. I am not using my waiver claim, so I may miss out and that's fine. I can drop Jameis and no one will pick him up. It's only a 10-team redraft.

Yeah Winston close to being benched. I'd also claim Murray. Don't miss out on him. He still has that win your league upside. Has a sweet schedule coming too.

Would you start him over Goff this week? dont want to make the same mistake twice but Baltimore D is way better than Detroits D... and Goff is way better at home.

I'm in the same boat in a league as well, leaning towards Goff. Things are lining up for him to have a solid game.
Bounceback/positive regression from a shaky week 1 where he missed/ignored some open targets, playing at home, and playing against another good offense so the Rams will need to keep pace by putting up points early and often.
If I knew Kyler would put up 30+ rushing yards, I'd start him but I'm sceptical that he'll do that.

Guys, it's pretty clear that unless something major happens and the sea parts, he's a pocket passer. He is...tiny. He's a lot smaller than I expected given that he's supposedly as tall as Russ.

I’m between starting Jameis Winston and Murray tonight. Tougher decision that I thought with Kyler heading to Baltimore.

Sure. I agree that it does that. It also puts pressure on the OL because they're never in max protect, and often not even really in protect.

I think our best bet for rushing yards is when he's under pressure and escapes, basically a last resort type of thing instead of a Vick, RG3, Jackson, healthy Cam style.
More like Wilson last year when he averaged 23.5 rush yards per game and dialled back the running.
