He is what I thought he was. Propped up by an all-time great defense and Lynch. As far as an NFL passing QB, he stinks.

Just start watching the sport? Go look at the WRs he has had in the NFL and then realize that his YPA was great his first two years. He is struggling lately, thanks to having probably the worst set of WRs in the league, but he's still a really good passer of the football.

Well, he got 17 pts on the ground and 3 pts through the air. His passing was the worst it's been all year.

exactly.This is the same mentality with people complaining about levean bell.
So he scored 3x in 5 weeks under 20 PTs. That happened to Brady, happened to Rogers for 2 weeks, and Big Ben for 2 weeks.
Meanwhile you got wilson at a cheaper price than all of them but maybe Ben and get better skill positions earlier at similar qb production.
But keep on hating. /shrug

they scored the same exact pts
invested in Wilson a lot this season. At the end of the year, his numbers will look good. But he's lost me a few match ups with his stinkers. Not consistent enough just yet and can't count on the rushing production. I think he's still good, but I'm not confident starting him week in and week out like I was before. I traded him in some leagues to get some variance just in case.

The defense is a concern, at 100% they probably weren't going to be as good as they were last year. Have had a lot of injuries and just starting to get people back.
Still need to dodge injuries moving forward as well.

Just did a quick look and Wilson is actually 6th in my main league. Higher than I would have thought. Ahead of Brees, Rivers, Culter, Stafford, Ryan.
The rushing is going to keep him solid scoring wise. But yeah you are not going to see 300 yard passing games out of him. Hawks are going to pound the ball with Lynch, Turbin, and Michael.

I agree that Wilson hasn't looked nearly as good recently has he has for other stretches in his short career, but I don't think this is all him. For some reason Bevell has been really focusing passing attempts horizontally instead of vertically...and most of those are crappy bubble screens which get stopped for just a couple yards (or even losses).
Those of you thinking Russell looks bad really should be blaming the OC instead.

This team at the moment revolves around Lynch. He is their heartbeat. Wilson is a very good young qb and on the verge of becoming elite. At the present time though if he does not improve his passing he won't ever be elite.

He had 2 INTs in 17 attempts and a fumble in one of his rushing attempts. You think he looked good today?
For fantasy purposes it should be better for Wilson owners if the D is not as good. When they are in ball control mode, Wilson really isn't very useful. But with the read option aspect in play, he still gets the running potential. Teams will start taking it away at some point one would have to think

while the first INT wasn't a great throw, even an average WR does a better job coming back to the ball and either catches it, or prevents the INT

When the team rushes for a franchise record 350 why bother passing? He did end up 10/17 with 170. Bottom line is in fantasy he had 20, they won by 21. If that's his awful game I'll sign up.
In my league he is the 6th highest scoring QB this season. Only a handful of QB's in the league I'd think about trading him for in real life.

Fantasy and real NFL are two separate beasts.
Fantasy he is doing fine no doubt.
In real he is struggling some. He is missing some throws and the O in general is not nearly as efficient as last year. People can keep deflecting, but part of the problem is Wilson himself.

The passing game has not been good lately. Lots of blame to go around. Sure, some of that is on Wilson.
Am I glad he's the quarterback in Seattle? Damn straight. I don't care of he's "elite". I don't care if he's the best. I only care if he's good enough, and he's certainly that.

I jumped the gun a little early as he still ended up with 20+ points. But I'd be lying if I said I felt comfortable starting him every week thinking 100yds/1TD rushing will be the norm. 0 passing TDs the past 2 weeks is ugly.

I agree he has one of the weakest WR cores in the league, but that makes his fantasy outlook that much worse. When Brees/Manning/Rodgers misses the deep ball, it's not a huge deal b/c they will have plenty more chances per game. When Wilson misses, the "bad" pass is over-criticized because he takes so few shots down field every game. His schedule gets much more difficult now, so while I won't knock him as an NFL QB, I think his fantasy outlook is trending in the wrong direction for the rest of this year. I'm speculating his avg PPG moving forward will be more around 16-18 with the exception of the Philly game. Not terrible by any means, but it probably won't get you through fantasy playoffs.
Personally, I'll probably be flipping weekly between him and Romo the rest of the year.

Fair point re: passing yards allowed. I also think AZ getting Mathieu back is another component that makes them more dangerous than their current paper statistic.Fair point re: passing yards allowed. In his career (4games) against SF Wilson has gone:
(2-2) 47/88 for 634 yards 6td 4int with 20 rushing attempts for 74yds. AVG QBr 80.4
Average line would be like 12/22 150yds, 1.5tds/1int 5r for 18yds.
In his career (4games) against ARI Wilson has gone:
(2-2) 54/103 for 644 6td 3int with 21 rushing attempts for 93 yds. AVG QBr 79.1
Average line would be like 13/25 for 160 1.5td/.75int with 5.2rushing attempts for 23yds.
