QB Ryan Tannehill, FA (2 Viewers)

Gase the offensive wizard to give up play calling responsibilities.

So the Dolphins went out and signed Dowell Loggains to be their offensive coordinators I suppose because they couldn't find anyone worse?

Tannehills upside is in the past. But not to worry Fins fans, Loggains generally only lasts one or two years as OC on a team

I like Tannehill. Assuming his knee injury doesn't seriously change his on-field play, there is no reason not to stick with him. They were a playoff team in 206 with him, and pretty bad last year. He was the main difference.

Agree that Tannehill has gotten a bit of an unfair rap given injury and not having weapons that rose to the challenge around him early on in MIA.

But this is a make-it-or-break-it year for Tannehill. Team still has some needs, but seem to have solid if not spectacular weapons in the backfield with Drake/Gore/Ballage and with Stills/Parker/Amendola at wideout. While not an elite team, they should put Tannehill in just as good of a position to lead the team to be competitive offensively in the division as he's ever been.

If not, no excuses.

i think they're a solid, if unremarkable team. they should have a good defense and that will allow them to compete effectively in most games. their strength of schedule is middling, for example. tannehill can have a decent season.

all of you have to check out Travis Wingfield's Twitter feed @WingfieldNFL if you're looking for the goods on Tannehill.

the guy has broken down pretty much every play RT has ever made and does in-depth analyses on the guy.

why this guy isn't a highly paid analyst somewhere is beyond me.

Any Miami fans or anyone else have any thoughts on how he’s looked in the preseason and/ or outlook for the year?

I Tannehill has displayed his upside vs. NE in the past. His last 4 games versus NE..

346/1/2 and 2/31/0 on the ground

300/0/2

350/2/0 and 2/17/0

387/2/2 and 6/35/0

He's gone over 300 yards in 5 out of 9 games vs. NE.

I think he's the second best streaming option this week behind Eli. He should be in a lot of lineups Sunday.

Yeah and I like how there's no way to game plan for a specific player like BB sometimes does. MIA spreads the ball around a lot, probably more than any team.

Ryan Tannehill completed 11-of-20 passes for 100 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Dolphins' Week 4 game against the Patriots.

The Dolphins were losing 38-0 when Tannehill was sent to the showers midway through the fourth quarter. The Dolphins' offense got hit by a bus, but Tannehill had plenty of help in the meltdown. C Daniel Kilgore broke his arm, RT Ja'Wuan James got benched and an errant Kilgore snap led to a disastrous turnover. Tannehill routinely had no one to throw to thanks to excellent Patriots coverage. His pick was an inexcusable arm punt down the sideline. It was a "burn the tape" effort. Despite today's capsizing, Tannehill will remain a solid QB2 for next week's matchup with the Bengals' struggling defense.

Dolphins’ QB Ryan Tannehill is out today. Brock Osweiler will start vs the Bears.

Does anyone know what this is all about? Does Gase thinking Tannehill was faking his injury?
Yeah... I saw snippets from Gase's presser... couldn't figure out if he was trying to question his QB's toughness, accuse him of faking injury, or simply angry because he seemed to be the last one to find out that Tannehill couldn't go. Maybe "D" all of the above.

It was weird though.

ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports the league has opened an investigation into how the Dolphins handled Ryan Tannehill's shoulder injury.

Tannehill was a surprise inactive Sunday after practicing all week and being listed questionable. He's dealing with at least a two-game absence, suggesting Miami knew he wasn't playing. The Dolphins expect Tannehill back this season, but there's no timetable for his return. Brock Osweiler will start against Detroit in Week 7.

Ryan Tannehill - QB -  Dolphins

The Miami Herald reports "there is doubt" over Ryan Tannehill's future with the Dolphins.

Tannehill is out at least the next two weeks with his shoulder injury. He'll be back this year, but his status beyond 2018 is far from a lock. Tannehill is a rarely healthy bottom-tier starter that's going to have to take a pay cut from the $26 million he's owed next year to stay in Miami. The Dolphins can save $13.2 million if they move on from Tannehill this offseason.

ESPN's Cameron Wolfe doesn't expect Ryan Tannehill to play in Week 9 against the Jets.

Coach Adam Gase said Tannehill is "close to throwing." There's a chance Tannehill returns in Week 9, but the Dolphins don't want to risk a setback. We should have a better read on Tannehill's status when Miami returns to practice next week. Brock Osweiler will make another start if Tannehill doesn't get cleared.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is throwing, but there remains "a question of how much power he can put behind the ball."

Gase added he would like to know by Wednesday if Tannehill will be able to suit up this week, but this update is not very promising. It seems likely Brock Osweiler gets another start this week against the Jets.
