310 yds, 2 TD's, and a 15 yd rushing TD against KC in week 9 with CMC in the backfield.  Denver doesn't have a strong enough running threat to open up the middle of the field for Teddy, so that will be the major problem.

 
IMO this is a great move by Denver - we get an honest to God QB competition where both guys can have a legitimate shot.  If either one of these guys has a better 2021 than 2020, the Bronco QB position got better. 

Consider - last year, Jeff Driskel, Brett Rypen, Blake Bortles (and Kendall Hinton, I guess) were the only other QB's in the room...Bortles being the veteran presence.  At minimum, Teddy is an upgrade over Bortles/Driskel and at best he's a guy who won 11 games in 2015 and went 5-0 for NO in 2019 (yes, 4-11 on a bad Carolina team without CMC).

with the Broncos defense (on paper) being a top 5, some very good young WRs, an improving OL, and Melvin Gordon in the backfield, this team has the potential to make a significant leap.  Largest caveat is injury - there is no depth at OL, RB, or CB, so that will probably limit how far they can go.

I think its unlikely Chi, or WFT can move up to the 6-7 spot, I would assume the Panthers arent in the market for a qb at this point in rd 1, although its not out of the question. So that makes 9 a very decent spot for one of Lance or Fields to fall assuming SF takes Jones.

Whichever one of these qbs falls to 9, they are going to take them.

maybe.  They don't have to though, and that's the beauty of this move.  If you are Paton and decide you are good at QB, you can bluff that you are.  That forces a QB hungry team like NE to trade ahead of Denver, which pushes the best non-QB down a spot (Sewell?  Parsons?), which can only help.  Alternatively, trading back becomes a very real possibility- move back to the 12-20 range and target Collins, Slater, etc and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder.

one more thought: Trade Lock and maybe a 2nd to Detroit, move up to 7, and get Fields.  boom.   Long term, short term QB issue is addressed.

IMO odds just increased that CAR picks a QB....can't think that any team would be totally sold on Darnold....adding a Fields or Lance or Jones would actually make some sense.....IMO DEN will need to move up to get a QB as there are some teams chomping at the bit to get a QB and they know they need to leapfrog DEN....NE, CHI, WAS, etc....if DEN heads into the season with a combo of Lock/Bridgewater, did their QB room get better....?....sure but is either of those guys the long term answer.....no.....Bridgewater may be just good enough to get you a couple more wins, which actually hurts you in the long run as your draft pick gets worse and moves you into that dreaded no mans land.....and your window of actually getting a franchise type guy closes.....THIS draft is Denver's opportunity to move up and snag a guy.....they may not get it again....I get the whole competition thing.....and thats great and all......but its still the old saying "if you have two QB's it means you don't have one" ....

obviously I was referring to Broncos. 

Lions reportedly wanted Lock in a possible trade for Stafford.  if they are bullish on him, they may want to have him as a hedge behind Goff.  I don't know what kind of trade value Lock would have but we are talking about the lions dropping from 7 to 9.  Realistically, per the pick value chart, that's a 3rd rounder.  suppose the trade was #9 and Lock for #7 and a 4th...Detroit gets a quality back-up QB (which they don't have right now) and only drops 2 spots.  per the trade value chart, that would place Locks value at a late 3rd/early 4th round level.  That sounds about right.

Maybe, I could see them hoping this pushes Lock to be more like the guy who was on fire the last few games of his rookie season when he finally started for them. If not, Teddy is gone next year and they move on from Lock at that point (maybe by trading for Watson who's legal issues might be in a better place by then.)

I don't think this takes Denver out of the QB race in round 1 though. Its more of an insurance policy if they can't get a guy.

I think they like Fields but could pick Lance and feel alright with Teddy leading the way until he is ready. 

 
Have to think they’ll go with Teddy over Lock. He’s just a safer, more conservative option for a team that is going to try to win with a strong defense and ball control offense.

Completely agree. 

I don't understand the folks comparing Bridgewater being a lateral move from Keenum, Flacco, or Lock. Throw in Siemien and the last version of Peyton Manning that was soundly getting outplayed by Brock Osweiller for that matter. Teddy is pretty clearly the best QB they've had since.... 2014?

Admittedly, I've been a Bridgewater fan since he got under-drafted coming into the league. Back when Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel got drafted ahead of him.

This feels like a lateral transition. I didn’t see much separation between them in camp/preseason. Just feels like the Broncos brought a guy in hoping a change of scenery would be for the best.

I wouldn’t pick either of them in the subscriber contest, for example. 

Not sure how it effects the offensive weapons in Denver, other than hitting the reset button on expectations for Jeudy/Fant. 

Would anyone be surprised to see TeddyB & Lock flip flop during the season? More than once? 

 
I have no dog in this fight but I did see where Bridgewater is 35-25 lifetime and on some pretty bad teams.

He is inheriting the best team he's had around him, no?  I mean they certainly have the weapons and that D will be quite good.

Vegas has them at 8 1/2 wins.  I don't see non-Broncos fans betting that team/QB's over so that line smells of value to me.

Thoughts (on Bridgewater)?  I'll make my way to the Broncos thread for the rest, thank you.

 
Teddy Bridgewater completed 28-of-36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos' Week 1 win over the Giants.

Bridgewater stayed sharp after winning the Broncos’ starting job in the preseason. He hit Tim Patrick and backup TE Albert Okwuegbunam for his touchdowns, with both coming on goal-line throws. Bridgewater wasn't asked to do much with Denver's defense shutting down the Giants. The Broncos lost Jerry Jeudy to a high-ankle sprain, downgrading Bridgewater's supporting cast going forward. Even with Jeudy out, Bridgewater is a streaming option for a matchup with the Jaguars secondary in Week 2.

Teddy Bridgewater completed 19-of-25 passes for 235 yards in the Broncos' 26-0, Week 3 win over the Jets. 

Bridgewater tossed neither a touchdown nor interception in a game that was never competitive. Bridgewater spread the ball around as the Broncos dialed up 37 rushes, targeting no one more than five times and five different players at least thrice. Bridgewater also lost another pass catcher, with KJ Hamler injuring his knee and joining Jerry Jeudy on the shelf. A Monday MRI awaits. Bridgewater has been playing the best football of his career, but against the softest of schedules. It has also produced only four scores in three games, so it has hardly been a fantasy bonanza. The schedule stiffens significantly with the Ravens in Week 4, though Baltimore's defense is off to a shaky start.

Teddy Bridgewater has attempted the third most deep passes through Week 3. 

Bridgewater has 18 attempts of at least 20 yards, trailing only Derek Carr (22) and Lamar Jackson (19) headed into Week 3 Monday Night Football. Nearly 19 percent of Bridgewater's passes this season have been downfield shots -- a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers who hedged on Denver pass catchers with the conservative veteran under center. On Sunday against the Jets, Bridgewater completed three of five deep balls for 82 yards. His willingness to let it fly is a decidedly positive development for Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, and the rest of Denver's wideouts. Teddy remains a weekly option in superflex formats.

Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) returned to Broncos practice on Thursday, getting in a "limited" session. 

Although it is only a limited session, this puts Bridgewater on track to suit up against the Steelers. He will hopefully be officially cleared on Friday. Bridgewater won't be a recommended QB2/superflex vs. Pittsburgh, but his presence under center would stabilize Courtland Sutton's WR2 value and Noah Fant's TE1 status. Drew Lock would have imperiled both.

Heard on local radio here.  Broncos aren't flying in to Pittsburgh until Saturday evening.  Normally they'd be going earlier than that.  The official explanation being given is that the hotels there are booked for weddings delayed due to Covid.  The rumor is that they're waiting to give Teddy as much time as possible to clear the concussion protocol.

 
Teddy Bridgewater is expected to clear the league's concussion protocol and play in Week 5 against the Steelers. 

Bridgewater playing despite the brain injury is excellent news for every fantasy-relevant Bronco. Drew Lock was his usual erratic self in relief of Bridgewater in Week 4 against the Ravens, and would have dragged down Denver pass catchers and running backs. Bridgewater could be a quietly solid option against a pass-funnel Pittsburgh defense, as 72.33 percent of yards gained against the Steelers this year have come through the air -- the ninth highest rate in the NFL.

Broncos coach Vic Fangio said he "expects" Teddy Bridgewater to start in Week 7 against the Browns.

Bridgwater, banged up after taking nine sacks against Las Vegas' front-seven, sounds healthy enough to turn around for Thursday. Even so, Denver's ongoing three-game losing streak could leave him as the scapegoat if the team can't put together drives against Cleveland's injury-riddled defense. It's not a matchup to target in fantasy whether it's Drew Lock or Bridgewater under center.

Teddy Bridgewater (foot, quad) is questionable for Thursday night's Week 7 game against the Browns.

Bridgewater got in a full week of limited practices before being labeled as questionable. Coach Vic Fangio has already said he expects Bridgewater to be out there Thursday night. Consider him a low-end QB2, even against a banged up Browns team.
