In one of my dynasty leagues I find myself with a QBBC of McNabb, Henne, Campbell and Orton. 12 team league, start one QB - so QB2s aren't valued very highly and it would cost a fair bit to land one of the elite guys.

So I'm going to play my hand and see how a true QBBC compares to the top QBs. I figured I'd invite others in the same boat to chime in here and compare how it works for us in the real world this season.

According to FBGs consensus rankings for 2010 I'm starting the season with QBs #12, #18, #25 and #28. Any predictions on where I finish in terms of QB points for the season?

Not sure, I can understand if he's looking to write up as the season progresses about how this plan has worked for him but you could be right. Regardless, the disadvantage of going QBBC (especially with 4qb's) is that there will be weeks when you get it horribly wrong. The committee approach is only any good if you're good at playing the matchups. If you're not, sink your money/draft picks into a stud qb and forget about it.

I've done QBBC before a couple of times and I don't care for it. Trying to figure out who to start each week is always frustrating. Inevitably you miss and end up losing because of it. Last year it worked out well for me for the first half of the season but did not work out the second. Good luck. If it were me I'd start McNabb until he got injured then I'd start whoever had been doing better between the other guys.

Yes, I've also done the same in the past with the same experience. Rather than thinking of it as QBBC, I think of it now as two bites at the apple drafting mid-tier guys with upside. Last year I lucked out with Big Ben and Schaub so couldnt really go wrong. Ended up starting Ben the first half and then seeing how Schaub was killing it I switched. I'd basically do the same thing here: start McNabb until you see if one of the other guys is doing well and then switch. Rather than trying to play matchups, unless McNabb just has a terrible matchup one week.

Well having McNabb in the group (rank #12 in a twelve team league) really takes it out of the realm of a true QBBC - if you had drafted Henne, Campbell, and Orton based on schedule matchups/upside that would be the more traditional QBBC. IIRC McNabb easily has the softest schedule of the bunch against the pass, but with new QB and new HC, we don't know exactly how the offense will run right now.Good luck with it

Thanks Hook. What I'm really interested in seeing is whether or not my high end QBBC can finish in the top six or seven of my league in terms of QB points scored. It's a dynasty league, so I didn't really plan this. Drafted McNabb and Campbell in the 2007 startup and picked up Henne and Orton as a WW freebie and a trade throw-in.Never had to do a QBBC before, but figure if I can't make it work with this group (low end QB1 and two QB2s) the idea probably isn't for me.Remain interested in hearing other QBBC combos and how they fare in the real world this year if anyone else wants to track it here.
