Quizz Rodgers (1 Viewer)

BigTex

Don't mess with Texas
Quizz Rodgers, a faster, stronger, better recieving version of Warrick Dunn. With Turner getting dinged up he's in prime position to make things happen.

I have no problem taking him after the 1.7 spot in Dynasty.

Giddy Up!

Tex

No love because he has 2 solid guys ahead of him on depth chart. And because Atlanta proved with misuse of Norwood that they are clueless on how to utilize a scat back.

I don't mind the Kendall Hunter situation in San Fran at all.

An aging Frank Gore, coming off of hip surgery.. little competition aside from Gore of course, on an improving run blocking offensive line.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk about that.

Well, i guess its possible that Turner and Snelling both break their legs before the season starts. If not, sit on him for 2-3 years until Turner retires...

I can assure you quizz is not as fast as Dunn was.

He beat Dunn in every rushing category and has just as many awards as Dunn. He maybe shorter but he's bigger than done.

The way he single handily beat Stanford in 2009 was remarkable and don't forget what he did to the #1 Ranked USC.

The kid is good. Turner keeps breaking down, he'll get his chance.

Maybe my original post is too small and I should have put it in all caps but I said DYNASTY.Sorry for the confusion.
I don't think anybody's confused. He'll probably go late second in most DYNASTY drafts, last round flyer in redraft.

Snelling could possibly walk (FA). But even so, I just don't see Atlanta being a team that could/would hitch their wagon to Quizz.

They are currently in a win now set of mind and their team is all about inside running game and Roddy (and now Jones) on the outside down the field. I think even if Turner retired tomorrow, the Falcons would more than likely find a bigger guy and Quizz's role would still be that change of pace, maybe catch some out of the backfiled like Snelling does.

I'm guessing most people that want to buy Quizz is kind of thinking of it as a MJD situation. I, myself, don't know if he is tough/durable like MJD and could be that guy.

I agree with you on the first part, but Frank Gore is only 27 years old and doesn't really have a whole lot of carries (due to missing game to injuries). I don't think his hip injury required any surgery either. He is however in the final year of his contract so it's possible Hunter could pay big dividends, but the 49ers brass has recently reiterated their desire to keep Gore a 49er, though they could just be blowing smoke for the sake of team morale.

I liked Quizz a lot before the draft, but I'm not a big fan of the situation either for fantasy. He can contribute in a lot of ways for them IRL, but I think he's probably years away from being relevant except for the deepest of dynasty leagues.

He ran a 4.64/40 at the combine and measured 5'5 7/8". He's an intriguing prospect but when you're that small you need to be faster than everyone else......and he's not.

Not that it isn't important (because it has definite value), but I'm not as concerned about 40 times in spandex as much as I am about game aciton. Rodgers seems to me to have great agility and burst. Further, he was productive in the Pac 10.

Dynasty owners of Rodgers will probably have to be patient with him, but I think he could develop into a productive RBBC member for ATL in a couple years, once Turner starts to wind down.

I think he is worthy of a late 1st rd pick in dyansty leagues.

Most likely. Gore turns 28 this month and my gut tells me that 2011 will be Gore's last with the 49ers. He no doubt will want a big deal to re-sign so if they like what see in Hunter this year he's gone.

His game speed is faster than his 40 time.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfqwHejd3HI&feature=relatedAnd he's not afraid to lay someone out!

Ummmmm.....OK. I'll buy into that philosophy when you're talking about a 225# bruiser...but when a LITTLE guy is slow WITHOUT pads, I'll pass.

All take his exact same numbers in my dynasty league next year then.

He has incredible change of direction and instincts. I think he was a steal and was jealous he ended up going to Atlanta at the pick he did.

I'm too lazy to hunt for the link, but Dimitroff said Quizz will become part of the 2011 offense. (Meaning Norwood may not also). Now Dimitroff needs to tell that to Mularkey who mysteriously lost the pages of his playbook on screen passes a number of seasons ago. The Falcons have to be the worst screen passing NFL team and because they don't practice it, the worst at defending the screen. Perhaps, finally this year, they will discover it with the new scat back.
