Raiders | Fargas re-signs with team Published Wed Feb 13 8:47:00 p.m. ET 2008 (KFFL) ESPNews reports the Oakland Raiders have re-signed RB Justin Fargas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In his defense I know that I wouldn't want to go through a bunch of stuff about the Raiders to see what people thought about the Fargas signing.Fargas (and the RB situation) is probably the only interesting thing the Raiders have in terms of fantasy football.

So, could this be a good thing or a bad thing for M.Bush owners? I would think it would have to be good. It means they are less likely to go after McFadden which leaves Fargas as Bush's main competition.

Best case scenario for Bush is only having Fargas ahead of him. The sigining of Fargas makes it less likely the Raiders draft a RB in the top 2 rounds. So yes, this is good news for Bush owners.

No DMC to OAk..
Beat me to posting this. However, there is still a chance that the Raiders pull the trigger on him. Jordan will not be back with the team, so there will still be a spot to fill. Last year they carried:D. RhodesL. JordanJ. FargasM. BushR. LeeJ. Griffith (FB)O. O'Neal (FB)

Can't say that yet... who knows what amount and how long this contract is for... Jordan will be gone... good chance Jordan is too.. then do you really want to count on M Bush as a Back up to Fargas.. No Way.So for future DMac owners like myself... we're not out of the water yet... if any thing; this may put Oak in a better situation to draft DMac.. takes some leverage away.

I think that is a fair contract for both parties. Good signing by Oakland. At the very least the Raiders have maintained a back that can be used to help bring Russell along next season.

I don't think RB is on the Raiders radar for their top pick. Fargas ran for a grand, they have Bush as well, and can keep Rhodes. I don't really understand why anyone thinks DMC is a possibility here, not with Long, Dorsey, and Ellis in this draft. Just not a possibility, in my mind.

I don't really get the idea about Dmac going ot Oakland either. Rhodes and Fargas produced, why bother drafting yet another RB when it's pretty obvious Oakland has solid talent that can produce at the position alreadyOn a side note, what does this do for Fargas' value? Anything? Is he worth picking up off waivers for bye week relief? Maybe even RB3 in deep leagues?

It doesn't affect his value one way or the other, IMO. I think Jordan is gone, and Rhodes is a non-factor. His value hinges on any draft picks the Raiders add at the position, and Michael Bush. Bush is the definition of an unknown at this point, so it's tough to predict how the carries break down, but between Bush, and Russell taking over at QB, I would think a dip in Fargas' numbers is a solid bet.

Fargas will be the backup to Bush by the end of the year. At the very best Fargas will be a change of pace back to Bush.

I dont think this counts the Raiders out of drafting McFadden at all. It was all but a done deal that Jordan would be let go and Rhodes is a non factor. Leaving a 2nd year player that sat on IR his entire rookie season and the perennial front-runner for the job, Fargas, who has been a career backup until last season.

Resigning Fargas was a slam dunk whether Oak looks to draft McFadden or not. It's not like he was shopping himself around and waiting for the best to deal to come his way, he took what Oak gave him and ran with it.

This is moderate money, which is probably appropriate given Fargas' history. It's a bit pricey for a backup but pretty cheap for a starter; they probably view him as a #1a or #1b type back. I would be a little surprised if they went for a back high in the draft, given all the needs the team has.

Not bad for 1 productive year.
Avg 4 Mil a yr w/ 6 Guaranteed... I change my stance; They are passing on DMac. I guess they willing to go in with Fargas / Bush as Backs... maybe pick up another RB in FA. Doubt Rhodes comes back. You figure DMac is going to demand loads of $$ if hes picked in the 1st 6... and Paying Fargas 4 Mil and DMac another boatload is out of the plans.

Oak will draft anywhere from 3-5 in the 1st round... if the 2 DT's (Dorsey and Ellis) are off the table by the time they pick, drafting McFadden is very much a possibility.
