Rams Passing Game This Week (1 Viewer)

I know the Rams offense is horrid, but with the lack of CBs in Dallas and the likelihood of them playing from behind, do you move Bulger, Holt, and Avery up a notch?

Disclaimer - This is a veiled attempt to gauge opinions on Avery this week.

He is on the fence to be a flex play for me, mainly because I feel I have better options in front of him. Needless to say, if I hear news that Chambers is not 100% against Buffalo and could be limited, I would have no problem putting him in against Dallas. They will be down in this game and have to throw. Dallas does fairly well against the rush and Bulger is going to have to make plays. Torry Holy will get his but I think Avery will see many many looks. I could see 6/60 and a possible score if he breaks one downfield. Dallas can give up the deep ball as Moss/djax proved a couple weeks ago and from the game last week, looks like Avery has no problem going deep.

I like Avery in this game. Not enough to start him, but I will have my eye on him. Holt will likely have his best game of the season. I can see 80 and 1 TD for Holt.

That was a huge catch by Avery last week that set up the Rams game winning field goal. Catches like that gains your QB's confidence, i expect Avery to be targeted 9-10 times this week, with 5-6 cathes and 100 yards.

As a Holt owner, I'm afraid Holt chokes on this great matchup and puts up his usual 4-40 game and Avery goes off with 100 yards and a TD or two.

Sure hope I'm wrong.

I'm in need of a waiver wire fill in this week and it's down to Avery, Wade or R. Davis. I'm leaning towards Avery as I think he has the most upside. He's very explosive, if the Rams can get him the ball.

Bulger 200 yards for the first time 1-2td
I think it will be more personally. I'd stick with 1-2td's but I'm thinking it's closer to 300 yards. About 280 is my guess.Dallas is going to be all in to stop SJax and they're throwing rookie corners onto the field. Bulger could realistically throw for 300 and 3 td's if the Rams take what the Cowboys give them. I think we're going to see a high scoring game here.

Why is everyone so sure the Rams will be playing from behind?
Good point. Brad Johnson is back there, not Romo. Who knows how the offense is going to look right away.
It doesn't matter.I'm usually very conservative when it comes to the Cowboys. I feared the loss last week and predict the close games. This one is different. I think its going to be all O-Line and Barber here. The O-Line is pissed....and I think they really beat down the Rams this week. Johnson does what he has too to get the W.They win fairly easily.

I believe from what I read that Orlando Pace is out for this game. Who is going to block Ware long enough to get Holt?avery down the field?

I've been trying to figure out how Wade is giong to scheme this game. Last year, he played a soft zone, giving up 10-12 yard cushions. Of course, he had Reeves and Nate Jones as primary defensive backs and these schemes play to their abilities.

This year, they've played a touch more pressure and man, with Pac being a primary reason. Even so, they've still used a lot of zone.

Both Jenkins and Scandrick played a LOT of press man in college. Its what they are most familiar doing. They've got the physical skills to do this well, unlike Reeves and Jones of last year. Its actually a simpler assignment to cover a guy man-to-man than figure out how to play effective zone. But its a higher risk scheme. And a crafty vet like Holt would likely lick his chops at rookies trying to man him up.

Does Wade put his guys in positions where they are most comfortable and perhaps better suited or does he try to stay conservative and play the soft zone he's loved calling the last couple of years. My guess is that Wade is going to try the zone route and StL is going to be successful making quick throws like most other teams have on Dallas this year. But I sure would be tempted to let the rookies do what they do best. Get up and press.

was wondering the same thing. How exactly do these Ram backers think Greg Ellis and Demarcus Ware will be blocked?

TE sleeper of the week- Klopfenstein STL TE

I believe in coaching trends and Saunders loves to use his TE's. After the top TE's it is a crap shoot, worth a gamble.

Saunders loved to use Gonzalez and Cooley. I have a funny feeling he's not going to be knocking himself out to get Klopfenstein's Monster involved in the Rams passing game, however.

Wow some pretty inflated predictions here IMO. I had to choose between Bulger and Garcia this week and drop the odd man out and I went with Garcia. I don't see how Bulger is going to have the time needed to carve up the Dallas secondary, i really don't.

Klopfenstein will likely be staying in to protect Bulger (attempting anyways)

that is the key. Dallas' pass rush looked better than it has all yr against ARZ. but that crafty vet. Warner prevailed. Dallas needs a good pass rush to take some pressure off their secondary.

Whew, thanks for the reality check. I was beginning to think this was the Kool-aid drinkers thread with these crazy predictions.

This will be Avery's break out game.
I agree, I have him started over Welker and L. Moore
Interesting. I am deciding between Moore, Avery, and Camarillo and currently have Moore in there. If Bulger has time to throw then I think Avery can have a decent game, but that's a big IF. I see Dallas running the ball a lot to eat up the clock and make sure Brad Johnson doesn't have to win it for them. At the same time the Rams will most likely have to throw all game if their time of possession is limited.
