Ran a 10k in June (9 Viewers)

My 225 pounds is completely out of control and my arms flailing in full windmill mode. If I attempt this fresh, 9 out of 10 times I wipe out. Roughly 30 seconds later I hear the crowd (turns out we were behind a ridge) and I'm just hoping I don't end up breaking a leg. Out of nowhere the finish appears and I bound down the last steps plowing into people backed up at the finish line. It was close to a bowling ball taking out pins and I almost flatten a gal chatting with her friends. 3h59m41s!!! I did it.
Had I only have read the bolded, I would have known it was BnB :lmao: GREAT race, and congrats on conquering some serious elevation. I've only done one long trail run and it also lacked in the formal rest stops that you expect in tri's and running events. Awesome that you made your goal. It sounds like you ran close to a perfect race. ShoNuff: Never say never!!

My update:

I picked up a new dog today which kept me home from work all morning (I promise stories about "Buddy" at a later time). I ended up doing a noon ride. The winds were 15 MPH, but the weather was perfect. Went out into the wind and back home with it. In all 18 miles at 20.8 pace.
I hate hills with a vengeance...I can safely say never to this one.I don't even think the course looks that bad but I don't think I want to do the Knoxville race because I know what downtown Knoxville is like...and it would be awesome to finish on the 50 at Neyland...but not worth that downtown.

Things with Mountain in the name...hell to the no.

BnB that might be the best RR I've read here yet. What an epic adventure. I laughed and cringed so many times while reading that. Bravo. I'm sure at the time it sucked ###, but I'm willing to wager you had a lot of fun writing that up. This is one of those stories that will be more fun to tell as time goes on. I can't wait to hear about your 40 miler!

I'm 99% sure I'll be doing a big trail race In the spring. It will either be a full marathon or a triple crown - HM, 10k, then a 5k. Nowhere near what you are doing, but some pretty brutal trail for around here.

Shut-In Ridge 18 Mile Race ReportCame into this event about with about 2 weeks less training than needed. Got the word on the lottery draw in mid September leaving about 8 weeks to train. Trail running is a different culture. No e-mail about packet pickup of the pre-race dinner, it's just assumed that after 32 years people know what's up. No mileage markers on the course, water only at rest stops, no fancy elevation profiles. Not a compliant, just noting the difference between this and the tri races with aero bottles, specialty laces, and data collection devices galore. The route was in doubt the night before due to storms the week of, but the course was opened at the last hour. Perfect day to run...upper 30's at the start and sunny. My race plan was to Sand the first mile at 9:00 pace. I wanted to be at mile 16 at 3hr 20m which would allow me 40 mins for the brutal final climb of 1.8 miles and put me in at 4 hr. By Sanding the first mile I would only need to maintain about a 12:42 pace over the next 14 miles. As noted before, I did Sand proud. Mile 1 was 151 ft down and 23 ft up. Knocked it out in 7:54 and it was a breeze with a average hr of 151. I was already a minute ahead of plan which gave another 4-5 secs per mile to play with the rest of the way.We were on double track as the road turned up. Mile 2 - 210 ft up, 0 ft down, 10:02 pace, 157 hr. The small thin people started flying past me here. Banked another 2m45s to the good which had me feeling good about my prospects. Mile 3 - 272 ft up, 66 ft down, 10:29 pace, 155 hr. I was keeping a close eye on my hr and backed off a little on the gas here. 160 would be ok for short periods, but I've never been over the low 140's for a longer event. Things are going better than expected and good thoughts are flooding my brain.Somewhere around this time we switched to single track and mile 4 the #### kicking began. Mile 4 - 505 ft up, 33 ft down, 14:04 pace, 158 hr. Wow that was hard. Good news was that I had 1000 ft of climbing behind me and only 3000 ft more to go.The route paralleled the Blue Ridge Parkway so there would rest stops every 1.5 to 2.5 miles and your support crew could meet you here with the essentials beyond water. My girlfriend did support for me and did an excellent job. It was great seeing a friendly face with gatorade and toting a small quicky-mart with her. Mile 5 included a brief stop - 233 ft up, 226 ft down, 11:51 pace, 153 hr. I'm now over a 1/4 of the way there with more than close to a 1/3 of the climbing behind me at 54m30s. I knew it was going to get harder, but I was ahead of where I wanted to be. Somewhere in here I tripped and 10 yards later ended up eating a bush. I hear, "are you ok"...just me being clumsy I reply. Fortunately this was my only tumble. We were in a cruising part of the course. Mile 6 - 59 ft up, 92 ft down, 10:26 pace, 146 hr. Here's where I realized I had made a mistake. I caught up to a group of about 20 runners in a line. No way to pass on single track, at least this many people, so I was force to back off an watt for an opportunity to pass at the next stop. I should have pushed things earlier to stay in front of more people to avoid this as I easily lost a minute here. The rest stops were welcomed, but almost everyone lead right into a steep climb that left everyone walking. I can't even described how steep these were. Mile 7 - 371 ft up, 285 ft down, 14:38 pace, 151 hr. Didn't charge my mp3 player enough and it died here. That was a small pyschological blow. Mile 8 - 33 up, 157 ft down, 10:43 pace, 141 hr. Once again traffic was an issue. Mile 9 - 253 up, 0 ft down, 11:07 pace, 153 hr. Maybe my best mile of the event. Halfway home in about 1h42m and coming up on 2000 ft of climbing behind me. Woohoo!!! Mile 10 - 381 ft up, 10 ft down, 14:27 pace, 152 hr. Walked a good protion of this mile. Also found out from someone else that this course wasn't 4000 ft of climbing, it was 5000 ft. Boohoo!!! Talked to two guys who had done this before and they said we were on target for a 3h45m finish. Talked to another guy that seemd smarter and he said they were crazy and 4hr was very unlikely with what loomed ahead.Mile 11 - 548 up, 265 down, 14:27 pace, 151 hr. Lots of walking. Mile 12 and 13 - 689 ft up, 660 ft down, 18 est pace, 149 hr. The uphills were so steep they were power walks at best and the downhills so steep that you couldn't make up much time for safety concerns, only catch some cardio rest. gps unit was start to jump around due to signal loss.Mile 14 and 15, 719 ft up, 164 down, 16:02 pace, 150 hr. gps totally died around here. Don't believe the Rayovac claim that they last as long as Duracell becuase they lie. The wheels are coming off. Everytime my foot catches a root the hamstrings start to cramp. I reach mile 16 somewhere between 3:20 and 3:23. I'm so out of it I started the final ascent w/o hitting the lap button until I was into it. I'm slightly behind goal but still have a shot of cracking 4 hours.Mile 16 to 17.8 (finish) - I wouldn't wish this stretch upon anyone. gps is cooked and I don't know how much longer. I asked someone as they walk past around 3h30m and get an answer that we'll be done in 15 min. Much like Rayovac, they lie and I hate them with every ounce of my soul. I didn't know it at the time, but 1010 ft up in about 1.5-1.6 miles. I thought this was supposed to be a run, not a mountain climb. Time is slipping away and there's not much I can do about it. I'm bent over supporting myself with my hands on my quads to take the next step. Every time the hr drops to 155 I dig a little deeper and push it to 160. I look up and the can see people walking towards the heavens with no end in sight. We're basically walking steps now. A couple of peole pass me, but I manage to reel them back in and pass back. 3h40m passes...is the top near? 3h45m...it's got to be close, I don't have much left. 3h50m...still can't see the top and the sinking feeling is setting in, keep pushing. 3h55m...feel sick as this has slipped away. Finally at 3h57-58m I crest the top. My understanding is that we have about .2-.25 mile of downhill. Turns out to be 354 ft down. Basically nothing but rocks, steps, and roots straight down. I listen for a crowd at the finish and hear nothing. Why can't I hear them, I thought the finish was near. I'm resigned to a 4h+ finish and was thinking about just being safe on the the descent when 2 people catch up to me and ask to pass. What happened next still has me shaking my head. I tell them one minute to 4 hours and they say we can make it and begin sprinting. I'm thinking no way, but join the chase. By my calculations we're headed down a debris strewn trail with a 33% grade down. It was close to a bowling ball taking out pins and I almost flatten a gal chatting with her friends. 3h59m41s!!! I did it. I've done very well events in various divisions before, but this was probably the most satisfying result, even at 168th of 235. :banned: Next up, 40 miles and Mt. Mitchell in winter :boxing:eta: Final climbing numbers - 5305 ft up, 2464 ft down2h27m ascening, 50m descending, 49m flat
I love it

BnB - I think that might be my favorite Race Report of all time. Well, except for some of Bostonfred's adventures, but those were more comedy routines than Race Reports. What a great effort! I am so impressed. And I love the image of you barreling into the finish line like a bowling ball scattering pins.

PMB - nothing wrong with being an a.m. runner. That's what I am. Though it sure is hard at this time of year. Just keep grinding - the hardest step with the morning runs is the first one, because it means getting out of bed, getting dressed, and getting out there. Once you're going, the rest is easy.

Ned - you are going to kill your marathon. Don't sweat any individual workout during the taper. The fitness is all baked in the cake now, and it's just a matter of getting to the starting line feeling fresh.

PSL - a dog!?! Sounds like fun, just don't let it cramp your free-wheeling lifestyle, which I take far too much vicarious pleasure in reading about.

The Man - I used to be an AM runner and somehow got out of the habit, but you are right, it just takes that first time and then you are set to go.

BNB - Great race report. You make it seem so easy, but I am sure that your legs have been asking what you did to them.

----------------

I did my hilly route yesterday and added an extra mile. I am not sure if my Garmin was off or not, but I PR'd my usual 5 mile route at 41:05 (old PR is 41:30). I was pretty stoked about this and decided to go an extra mile just to add a bit more to it. Overall run was 6.13 miles at 51 something. Eleveation gain and loss was around 2200 feet. Also noticed that my average heart rate for this was 164, so i am guessing I am getting some good effort out of it as well. I usually feel great when I am running at 165, but that is typically at the end of a training cycle. Though not BNB extremes, this run is a good one for building my strength up. I am a firm believer in the tri-man hill concept vs. speed work. Both are important, but I find that the hills can build up speed just as much as the speed work can. I know that after training like this for awhile that when I am on the flats, I feel like I am flying.

Recover 5 miles for me today.

Have a great day all.

Awesome race report, BNB! Unlike anything I've ever done, that's for sure!

By the way, instead of saying "small, thin people," can we start calling them "tri-men" instead?

tri-menians? Hey, look at me, I'm back running after a two week layoff with not much going on. Just starting to knock out slow and steady miles ...some accelerations and long striding over the final stretches.

I can safely assume you support these folks having their own racing division too, right?
:lmao: :goodposting: :lmao: Great race & report BnB!!

I ran 6 semi-painful miles this morning. No tempo or anything - just 6 easy miles to see how things held up. My legs are not loving running right now. So as punishment, I did some lunges afterwards. That'll teach 'em.

Tri-Menian DivisionTM :lmao: :lmao:

BnB that might be the best RR I've read here yet. What an epic adventure. I laughed and cringed so many times while reading that. Bravo.
It is a fantastic race report, but for the best of our best in this thread (no offense BnB and BostonF) look up the few "Poppa" posts in here. I'm jones'ing for another one.

No worries: I had the dog on campus for no more than 15 minutes yesterday, and couldn't keep the coeds away from him. I have thought this through! PMBrown: Awesome run, and congrat's on the PR on it

For those that have never read Poppa posts I've put linked a few below. His don't have the epic fail/win, and hilarity that BF and BnB posts have, but they tend to give me chill bumps. This thread is an awesome place, and Poppa's, BF's and BnB's posts certainly add to it.

Find a pool ASAP. Post BC, my legs were dead. Swimming allowed me to maintain , and quite possibly enhance, my aerobic stamina, while giving the legs a break. :fishy:

Nope. As small, thin people, the tri-menians have an advantage, not a disadvantage.

Hopefully a self-imposed layoff?Anyway, I love reading BnB race reports more than just about anything else in this thread. Everything he does is epic. And that finish must have been so incredible to slide under your bogey time. Absolutely amazing.

Not much going on here. I was a single parent this week and got one swim in (slow - only a 1:13 100 pace this time around. :P ). Haven't run this week due to yet another injury from Sunday's run until today. Did a 3 mile walk/run medicinal thing that went well. Spectacular weather here, too. Hopefully the injury is healing up. Probably a slow 6 miler tomorrow and maybe longer Sunday. Not doing the 17 miler on the schedule, though.

Have a good weekend, folks.

Ah, so you are saying my people DO have a disadvantage. Thanks for the support.

I don't see how being young and bald is a disadvantage  Seems to me like both would be an advantage. As old and hairy I'm in full belief we need our own EldersquatchTM division ;)
Can you make that happen, being a Doctor and all? I can certainly stop shaving my back if that will help.
I'm sorry, but my hands are tied here. You are going to have to file an official complaint with the Bureau of Sasquatch Affairs.

BNB -- Like everybody else said, that was a great race report. Love the end. That must have been an awesome feeling.

Did 12 miles with my wife this morning -- six out and six back. We got stopped by a sherrif less than a mile away from home, who chided us to run on the shoulder instead of the road. Obviously a slow crime day in my county, as we live in the sticks and there's little traffic to worry about. Oh well.

Question about something other than me being short. I think my HRM has gone kaput. I've replaced the battery and rerun the scan several times with no luck. Since I wear it while I swim (for events) I'd guess it may have been exposed to water, although I saw no moisture when I pulled the old battery (which the chick with 17 face piercings at Radio Shack confirmed was very low). My next step is to do the hard reset on the Garmin, but really don't want to have to input all of the settings if I don't have to. Any other thoughts? The firmware is current and the Garmin still pairs with the cadence monitor on my bike, so I know the ANT+ connection still works.

I'm afraid it's hard reset time.

Why? If the battery died you should be able to pop a new one in there and have it automagically recognize itself again. There should be no need for a hard reset on the Garmin - that isn't the problem more than likely. You may want to try and pair it again after the new battery is in, but other than that it should be plug and play.

I took it as if he's already tried a new battery and paired them. If not = yes, see the above. Also, love the "automagically"

 Tried a new battery and ran the scan several time. When I get some time, I am going to rerun the latest Firmware. I think it might have lost pairing just after I grabbed the latest update.

It's been a long road but I'm basically fully recovered from my knee surgeries. Yesterday, I ran a few all out sprints (150 meter repeats) for the first time in 2-3 years. It wasn't much of a workout, but it was an amazing confidence booster. It feels indescribably good to have a stable leg under me again, for a while I had a hard time seeing myself ever running that hard again. I still lack power in the leg but muscle regrowth will be easier now that I've gotten my stability back.

I should be able to get in some 5ks next year and hopefully continue to build from there.

Edited to add - Useless without my shirt from the 10k last weekend. No doubt the photonic force of the light emanating from this shirt created a small vacuum bubble around me, thus accelerating my run substantially. I expect them to be outlawed soon.

Will have a better race report later...and even jotted down some good big #s when I got to my car

Was the Nashville Half Marathon (I Run For the Party Series by Hard Rock).

For the brief report I will just say my bladder is on my bad list. Stupid weak bladder today.

One bathroom stop cost me...finished in 2:00:36. Still very happy with the result given the hills on this course and my progress.

But went for sub 2...didn't blow up...but that bathroom stop killed me...that and an awful hill at mile 9.

Nice downhill finish though...and a nice tasty cold beer at the end.

Bout to head out to eat with the kids.

 Hardly recognized you with a shirt on  ETA, checked the RD's site from last weekend, not an up close shot but you can see the shirt unsuccessfully trying to pull a "reverse chick" at the finish.

I got the 8 in this morning, but it was damn hard. it could be because today was the first time in almost a week I felt decent, or that I haven't run since the race last Sunday. I am going to wait and see how the 9 next feels before committing money to the 10 mile race.

If you can do 8 in training 10 in a race is a slam dunk.

Lotta hard resets going on here!Trimenian Division - hey, we're at a disadvantage, too, given our lack of muscle mass.

Sand - great (and bright) race pic! 2Young - is the chick fleeing the shirt or the black compression socks?

Liquors - congrats on the new, furry, chick magnet. Hey, I never knew about your golfing past ..very cool! Could the twisting and turning of the golf swing have caused the more recent issues with the groin/hips?

Darrin - HTFU and do the 10 miler. Goodness, man, you're a Bourbon Chaser. Start acting like one.

sho_nuff - meh, 2:00 is 2:00. You're allowed to declare it a 2:00 race. Congrats!!!

sports_fan - great to hear your news! Be patient with your recovery. It'll happen, though!!

---

Sand, my layoff was just a self-imposed rest after the race season. Two weeks was probably not enough, but it'll do. I went out and did 12 miles this morning (8:25/mile). My body is pretty mad at me right now, but it felt good to roll through some miles. I didn't do them with anybody, though. :kicksrock:

Congrats on the race! Looks like you were right there for your goal. Lots to feel good about there.

30 miles on the bike this afternoon, with the wind on the way out, into it coming back. Almost 5 minutes slower coming back, too. And I wasn't all that fast on the way out... :hophead: Not sure how many more long weekend rides I'll get this year, so I was really glad to get out today.

Legs are feeling OK. My left hammy is a little touchy after the ride, but overall they seem better. Hoping to get a run in outside tomorrow.

OK, bike etiquette question - at one point in the ride just before a set of hills some old (tri-man old) dude turns off a side road in front of me. I passed him and started grinding up the first hill. About 1/2 way up, I realize that he's RIGHT on my wheel, and he stayed there for about 1/2 mile before we turned different ways. I've never done group rides, so I'm not used to having anyone riding that close to me, and it annoyed the hell out of me. Is it cool to just latch on to another rider without a word?

Not really, as you're trusting that he has good enough reflexes to not plow through your rear derailleur if you stop. Grinding up a hill, though, a guy on your tail is pretty harmless. Not much bad can happen here. It really helps to tail a wheel going uphill - giving you something to follow. I worry more about that kind of stuff on flat road. In that case, though, I just pull up my FFA britches and see if he can do 28 for a while...

I call this race report...Marhall Mathers can bite me at The Nashville Half Marathon.

Cool day to start out at about 40* with winds at about 10 with gusts to 20 (come in to play later). Supposed to be sunny and get to 50* during the race. I was right between where I am comfortable in long sleeves or short. I went long sleeve figured Id rather be a touch warm and pull the sleeves up than be freezing. Also went with some light gloves (good choice).

I was going to go Sub 2...I decided to start out about 9:30-9:20 ish as the first 2 miles is a decent up hill.

Mile 1...9:21 156 Avg HR

Mile 2...ahh...forget that sissy stuff 9:05...167 HR.

Mile 3...mile 2 can kiss my hind end 8:44...168 HR.

Mile 4...8:45...166. These 2 were very easy miles spent enjoying some nice scenery and mostly downhills. Whereas the cooler weather made me question what to wear, it was perfect as the females were almost all wearing the tight pants. Thank you very much.

It was also in between mile 3-4 when I realized I had to pee but thought at this point I could push on for a bit.

Mile 5...there would be no more pushing on...I had to go...9:01...171 (this was also a section that start back uphill around downtown nashville.

Mile 6...yeah, I had to pee...I knew we were coming up close to the Titans stadium after a short trip over a bridge. 9:11...172 HR.

Mile 7...pee time at some port o pottys outside LP field. There were a lot of them here from game days...I saw a girl head to one as I approached and thought if she left before I got there, I would use that one. I was not going to stand and wait for one. She did...I did.

Unleashed like a freaking fire hose. Holy crap that felt good. Came out still pulling up my pants (nice show for the lady who was waiting for my piss storm to finish) and headed on. Water station right there as I came out and pretty close to the split for the race after I did this.

As it was just about 6.3 in where they had the split. 9:55 175 HR

Mile 8 simple little mile here nice and flat. 9:01...175 HR. Back on track though concerned that my HR is staying in the mid 170s even in the flats.

Mile 9...All through mile 9 was nice...Shelby Park in Nashville...as flat as can be. 9:04...176 HR Had an orange slice which was fantastic at this point.

Mile 10...as soon as you hit the flag that says you finished 9 miles, you start the climb out of Shelby Park. 150 or so ft in about a half mile. To BNB this is nothing...to me 9 miles in with my HR already creeping up...it sucked. It was at this point that Eminem Til I Collapse came on. Ususally a motivational song for me in my Ipod. Today, I wanted to collapse after beating Mr. Mathers senseless and tilling him he should get his white butt out there on this hill if he wanted to collapse. Also someone tried to be nice and yell "you are halfway up". This was not motivation, it was a reminder that there was more hill. I powered through at 9:33 HR up to 180

Mile 11...little rolling section with mini climbs and downhill...I was still struggling off of the other hill here and spit out a 9:14...HR still at 180 which has me worried.

Mile 12...downhill to the bridge back to downtown. Looked at my overall time and my avg pace and knew I had to pick it up if I wanted a shot at sub 2. It hurt, but I pushed on. 8:53...HR 180

Mile 13...the bridge. Woodland street bridge. We ran this in the opposite direction earlier and only the climb to the bridge was uphill. This time...its about a half mile uphill another 100 ft climb according to garmin connect (why is connect so different on elevations to what the Garmin software puts out???) I was hurting bad at this point, right calf started tightening up, but knew I had a chance still, but it was fading away. I was still very happy at this point I was going to be close. After the bridge there is a downhill on 5th Ave to Broadway. Thought I could pick it up and then its downhill on Broadway to the finish. Downtown Nashville though ends up like a windtunnel between the buildings. This was a headwind with those guts straight in our face down 5th ave. Time was slipping away and I was just trying not to slip and fall down this hill. 8:50...HR 185.

The last .1....seeing that finish line and hearing people, looked at my Garmin probably right at the end of the other mile before the last turn to the finish and saw 1:58. Turned the corner and headed in hoping I had a shot. Lots of spectators here and one chick walking with her hustband who had just finished and was heaving on the sidewalk. Thanks buddy. 1:54 over a quarter of a mile...186 HR. so I guess I ran 13.25 today (tangents plus the off the courseish bathroom).

Final time 2:00:36 (Garmin and the official race result were in sync. Tried to remember to smile for the camera guy but I was really just trying not to tip over the timers on the ground.

Met up with a friend, enjoyed a nice cold Michelob Ultra? Ultra people? This was a half marathon...we want the Carbs!!! Still tasted good at this point.

I felt fine other than my calf being pretty tight, and the wind picked up and a sweaty tech shirt with wind was pretty chilly.

Had a fun race overall, but a bigger challenge than the last one due to the hills.

My first half I was cruising the last 3.1 as I probably went out cautious due to not knowing my body at that pace over the 13.1. Today I went out much faster and was just holding on at the end.

Gave my confidence as its not a "I believe I can go sub 2" its a, "I did go Sub 2 in actual running time if I can just not have to stop and pee."

Might do a little turkey trot and some 5ks the rest of the year, but this concludes the longer races for me til spring.

What a year...went from saying I wanted to run a half marathon last November/December (and having people think I was crazy)...to dropping 50 lbs, running 2 half marathons and dramatically changing my pace and body over the year. So pumped for next year's challenges.

On the bolded...Garmin Connect vs. Garmin Training Center is always different by over twice the elevation.

GC has me at 640 up and 635 down.

TC has me at 1908 up and 1911 down.

Congrats on a great race. That's a big improvement. The garmin is measuring elevation based on your gps moving up and down. The garmin connect adjusts it based on the actual surveying of the area you ran which is more accurate.

One hell of a year, good buddy. Congrats on a great race; I'm looking forward to seeing what marathon you pick for 2012. ;)

Good show dude and one heck of a year. That's a pisser about the pisser. Looks like some good consistant pacing.

Tough week here. Recovery was harsher than expected. Finally felt better yesterday and rolled my ankle 1.5 miles into a 11.5 mile trail run. The pain went away after a couple of minutes but running another hour forty-five on it probably wasn't wise. Swollen and bruised last night. Had to nix my run today, may mtb latter. Probably will lose a week of running.

  :pickle:   eta: I've actually run in Shelby Park (over by Two Rivers) when in town for a conference a few years ago. They had quite recently finished the bridge over there. I recall emailing the head of Parks & Rec to tell him how nice that bridge was along with the great trail system by the river. BnB - sorry about the ankle roll. If nothing else, you've earned a few days off.

The last real run is in the books. I am officially loving this taper. Today made me realize just how beat up my body was during this training cycle. I felt like a million bucks out there today. It was the first painfree run that I can remember in quite some time. It was scary how quickly and easy that 12 was.

I decided to give my pacing strategy a test run to see how things are going to feel. For the last two miles I picked it up and let my HR float around the 160 mark. I will expand more on the ***official*** plan later this week. I figured doing it at the end of a 12 miler will give me a decent insight on how I will feel coming into the halfway mark next week.

11 - 8:39@160

12 - 8:42@160

Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that this is the right pacing, but that effort felt like it was something I can hold on to at race day. Nonetheless it's just a small sample size and nothing to truly hang my hat on, but it was a nice little reassurance.

Overall that was one of the easiest 12 milers I've ever ran. The overall run was 9:04 @ 151. Very encouraging.

WOW! Everyone is doing awesome! Keep up the good work. I jedi mind tricked the wife into getting the treadmill I wanted. So I plan on getting a Sole F80. Anyone else have this?

As for me I'm scheduled for one more race. Detroit Turkey trot 10k. I haven't run 10k since the Chase so it's going to be rough.

Iceman Cometh: I edged out Turkish by 2 minutes. Free steak dinner coming my way.
