Been chasing this hip issue for several weeks now. Basically the diagonosis is that I'm not using my glutes and using other muscles that have cause my hip to seize up. I've been doing some exercises to get the glutes to fire.Accordingly, I hadn't run much since last Thursday when I had a good 5k but suffered with hip pain. Yesterday after treatment I went out for a 6 miler. Legs were super sluggish and my abdominal area barking (probably because I hadn't taken a dump). Interestingly enough, while my body and legs were saying I was struggling, the stats were telling a different story.mile 3 - 134 hr, 9:21 pacemile 4 - 133 hr, 9:05 pacemile 5 - 135 hr, 9:11 pacemile 6 - 156 hr, 7:23 paceThis was 45-60 secs faster than where I should have been at this hr. I actually felt my glutes during this run and seemed to be getting a push I've never felt before. The 7:23 pace was as hard effort, but not 5k type of effort.
