Outta the clouds but still feel like I'm on a cloud. Race report and the Ned details on Monday.
Executive summary - Greatest race experience ever. Most beautiful course ever. Challenges from boulder fields, ice flows, -30 degree wind chills, creek crossings, wicked winds, snow bursts. Huge long range views, scenery like you're in the Canadian Mts. If you're a runner, this has to be on your bucket list. Sanded the first 5k. Gru'd and Tri'd the entire race. Beat my goal by about 1hr 45m. Got stronger in the second half and could have gone another 10 miles. Not just a little stronger, sub 9 min flat miles at the end. Felt alot of inspiration from the posters here from all the generous donations to JDRF...going to surpass $3k. That must have been the difference because nothing in training prepared me to do this.
More on Monday eve when I have some time and access to the data.
ETA - Family/girlfriend wanted to see me finish. She asked what my best possible time would be. I said anything less than 9 is not possible, closer to 10 would be my guess. I actually was so far in front of the that I got my finishing swag, made the mile trek to the start and relexed a few minutes before driving back near the finish, hiding my truck, and running the last mile again so they could see me finish. When I told they afterwards they got a huge kick out of it.
