I need a combo of Coach and Dr. Sand. Got the speeedwork bug from all the chatter here and worked in some of those 50s on the :XX thingys last night. I did a 50 yard warm up and then did 9 sets on the :45s. I then did a 750 and 2 500s, keeping the average below a minute per 50 for all, the first 500 was around 9:10. I typically swim between 2,000 and 2,500 yards a day 2 days a week with little soreness. Today, my abs (which I have been hiding nicely lately

) are killing me. What caused this, do you think? I am thinking I must have been kicking a lot more aggressively than usual, as I use a limited, rudder like, tri kick most of the time. Or, would a more aggressive pull had caused the pain. Anything you can think of that I may have botched technique-wise? I am also wondering if it may have been the cumulative effect of my last few days and not just the swimming. Did a 5K Sunday, swam 2,000 (very hungover) Monday, ran 5.5 Tuesday and hen the swim yesterday. I am generally achy, this is more than just achy, more like a 6 or 7 on the 1 to 10 scale when the doc asks.
