1. Win.2. Don't play with your penis when they are taking picks.Got my first race of the season (3rd ever) on Sunday. I am very excited. Any tips? I remember getting gassed in the first mile last time out. Gonna try and pace myself a little better.

3. If you get aroused when you're applying the body glide, you're doing it wrong.LOL - Did you stop at Wesley for some luv?I was wondering if the elite woman had enough of a head start on you. I can't wrap my head around how fast you ran that first half. Thanks guys. I will post more details later, but basically my quads/hamstrings were tight from the get go and got worse right after Wellsley, but you guys definitely played a significant role in my decision to finish the race with whatever my legs would give me today, that and I kept on telling myself Jux and Gruecd was right behind me.P.S. I just knew the commentary on here regarding my blowup was going to be hilarious and it definitely didn't disappoint
Great effort man!Oh well. I felt good through the half, but around 14 or 15 I suddenly realized I was in trouble. I slowed some and tried to watch my HR but by 21 or so I was toast. Those hills killed me. Had to do the walk-run thing at the end. Classic Boston rookie mistake, I guess. I'm not too upset, though. The effort was there but my body just couldn't take it. I think I'll stay in the flatlands for the future. Nice experience, though. I'm glad I did it even if I didn't get the result I wanted.
Depends, the cutoff is in fall sometime.Piece of cake to get in if you qualify with the new harder cutoffs.Hang 10, on 15 Apr 2013 - 15:04, said:Another question...Say as a hypothetical, that I ran a marathon in the fall and qualified for Boston. What year would get to run Boston? Also, how hard is it to actually get registered for the race even with a qualifying time? Do you still have to go through a lottery process?
Glad you're OK.I hear lots of sirens but I'm about 2 miles away.
Qualifiers have an 18-month window, so you can qualify in, say, late October'13 and be able to run Boston in April'15.Another question...Say as a hypothetical, that I ran a marathon in the fall and qualified for Boston. I'll be 35 this september...gotta run a 3:15. Wouldn't be easy but it's doable.Qualifiers have an 18-month window, so you can qualify in, say, late October'13 and be able to run Boston in April'15. I hear that with the new standards, the slots take a number of days (weeks?) to fill up. It helps to exceed your qualifying time by 5 minutes since they stagger the registration times for a few different performance levels.Another question...Say as a hypothetical, that I ran a marathon in the fall and qualified for Boston. Unbelievably tragic ...the effect will linger for such a long time. Dammit.Congrats to everybody who represented the FFA today. What a horrible ending to an event.
well ####. When did that change? I looked it up kinda recently.35-39 is a 3:10.I'll be 35 this september...gotta run a 3:15. difficult to make sense of something like this. Some real evil in this world.Sick to my stomach here.
So we know Steve, grue, and juxt are ok.Steve is good as well
They weren't wave 1 though. They didn't start until at least 20 (wave 2) or 40 (wave 3) minutes after the clock started.Video I'm seeing is finish time around 4:09 when the bomb goes off. Unless the fella's were hanging around the finish line they should all be good.

I'm confused. The video shows the 4:09 clock like Beer said so I assumed it happened at 2:09 p.m.Most worried about Workhorse. He finished almost exactly 2:40pm and the blasts reportedly went off around 2:45pm
FYI....
I finished about 10-15 mins before the explosions. Got my medal, just got my bag off the buses and heard two loud booms, everyone I was with commented 'sounds like cannons' and we all remarked that was very odd. Didn't think *too* much more about it. Walked over to the subway, next thing you know they were evacuating the subway, no explanation, went back up to the street and started to hear about it all...
Good to read you and your family are OK!Guys, I'm ok. I had crossed the finish line, got my medal and was about a block and a half from the explosions. My wife and kids were directly between the two explosions on the same side of the street. We got VERY lucky today.PS, I ran an awful race but none of that matters now. Just a horrible day.
Really glad to see you guys are alright. Sucks to have this happen, especially when you're there.
Hope all your friends are okay too.
