Completely normal.sho nuff said:To be serious...I don't know.My 8 year old did the Color Run 5k thing with me last fall.Though...first bridge he was huffing it within a half mile. We walked and jogged.The first color area bothered him a good deal as it was in a spot downtown tight with buildings and nowhere for that dust to go. But he loved it and wants to get into more running with me here and there when I start up again this summer.

Jux, Prosopopis- Jack Daniels Running Formula has a pretty good section on running on inclines on treadmills and how the efforts translate. (p. 137 in the 2nd edition). I feel like those numbers may even be a little conservative as they seem to imply that a 1-1.5 incline on a treadmill is equivalent to running on flat ground.
To give you an idea of the effects of inclines. For running at 6.0 mph (10 min/mile) on the treadmill.
2.9 degree incline -> 9:19/mile effort
4.8 degree incline -> 8:15/mile effort
6.6 degree incline -> 7:24/mile effort
8.4 degree incline -> 6:44/mile effort
10.2 degree incline -> 6:11/mile effort.
Or speedwork equivalents when your treadmill tops out at 10 mph (6min/mile)
2.6 degree incline -> 5:43/mile effort
3.6 degree incline -> 5:19/mile effort
4.6 degree incline -> 4:59/mile effort
5.5 degree incline -> 4:42/mile effort
8.5 degree incline -> 4:01/mile effort
etc...
I hate to say it but it is already in the 90's here. I do get out when I can hit the roads at sunrise but there are no hills near me. And she runs around constantly even going from activity to activity. My wife says she is already faster than she is. Up at 4:00, breakfast, coffee, bathroom, etc. 6:30 start. No wind, upper 30s. About 100 or so people. The course is a loop through and around campus -- I've run many hundreds of miles on this course in various pieces.

That's good for a PR by about 13 seconds, The best part was that I was able to hold off some student who tried to pick me off at the end. I wasn't wearing headphones, so I heard him coming up behind me. Not today, guy. Any time you set you a new PR at 40 and hold off a guy half your age at the end, it's a good day.

HM gun is at 7:30. Targeting around 1:50. Course is a mix of everything and pretty hilly. No rain at all this week, so the creek level should be nowhere near where it was last year (over the knees). I'm guessing mid-calf high this time based on what I saw last Sunday.
10K gun is at 10:00. That gives me 0:40 to refuel, change socks/shoes, and stay loose. I made the mistake of not running during this break last yr and I tightened up too much. Targeting around 0:55. This is the easiest course of the 3, with the middle miles being nice and flat along the creek. Big uphill finish though.
5K gun is at 11:15. That gives me 0:20 to refuel and stay loose. Hopefully I'll be able to eat a little more than last year. I just couldn't get much down at this break. No idea what I'll have left, but I would love to break 0:30. Course is very hilly and technical, so I know 30 is a huge stretch. All wood will be on the fire at the gun.

Got back home and notice the that rear caliper wasn't just dragging, but that I had chewed up a good bit of my rear brake pad. Time for a tuneup as the cable is sticking bad. I'm going to ride the road bike tomorrow instead. Probably a better call given the weather expectations and zero training on the tri-bike for about a year.

Thoughts?I'd upload my history to connect.garmin, though 95% of my runs this year have been on the treadmill with no footpod so I don't think the data would do much good. I didn't realize that was something you could do, so I'll keep that in mind as I start to get outdoors for runs now that the weather is turning. That said, I assume that uploaded to connect.garmin allows others to see everything about your runs, including time/location? If so, doesn't that make you at all uncomfortable that others know when you're typically not home and for what periods of time (and I suppose where you live if you are able to run from your residence like I often do)? Yeah, that's my paradoid side likely overanalyzing a bit.
