5k last night, in 28:08. Felt slow/sluggish (slowgish?), but otherwise an ok run. Could have been because I had a full stomach (it had been a couple hours since dinner, but it wasn't an empty stomach like running in the morning), or because it was hot, or because it was nighttime (9pm).
Ran with my Ipod again and noticed I was still able to pull a 9:30-10:00 pace even while staying on beat (instead of the 8:30-9:00 that I've been pulling recently, so apparently I can still run "slow" and stay on beat, and maybe I won't burn myself out in the first 5miles).
Saw my doc this morning for a pre-race let's-beat-up-the-ITs (yes, ITs plural...my right one has been twinging lately, but both are in the no-big-deal category, they just
at me now and then). He also cracked my hip/lower back, which has been needing a crack for about the past week (probably due to all the housecleaning we've been doing
).
Getting psyched for this weekend!
Weather's looking decent, and clouds are back in the forecast, but it's flirting with being warm at 66/61 (was 63/60 the other day).

I had my ART session in a nice room w/ AC.
... but did the two (x6m) loops overall faster than my previous workouts- this was due to there being a lot more cyclists in the park this morning which pushed me a little (including my old club).
Now you tell me. It is only a 10k. I have been fine with not eating anything before my long runs. I will probably eat something small and just drink the water along the course. Should not be a problem.
... :grouphug:
pushing through the blah feeling is 90% of the battle. I always tell myself, just keep running. When I want to stop, I don't. I feel much better about it when it is all done and knowing that helps get me through it.
I'll be running tonight in near-100degree temps...and that's after dark!
And here I thought the weather was going to be pushing it in SD (current forecast is 64/61 with AM clouds). I'd pray for rain (at least a sprinkle would be good, no downpour), and be sure to drink, drink, and then drink again. Whatever the weather brings, you'll only be out in it for an hour, so don't worry about it and just run your race. If it does rain, try to avoid the puddles as you don't know what pothole is lurking beneath (plus, it's no fun to lug around all that water soaking your shoes).
