Miss me guys??

I received a two month timeout for telling a joke incorrectly (the entire thread confused 'deaf' with 'mute', and I spaced out wrt understanding the difference

), so I've been keeping my running log offline. My sentence is finally up.
01-05 - After taking a break from running for 2+ months (last run = Fall50 in October), I got back on the horse. I did 2mi today in about 18:55. I say "about" as I don't know where my Garmin is packed away, so I had to use a regular analog watch. This is also part of the ptts for not running at all, as I returned to Phoenix for all of November to finish up some things with my house, and didn't have most of my running gear. Even the 2mi is a 99% approximation, as I relied on Google Maps for the distance. Man I am SSOOO spoiled by Garmin.

lol Anyhow, it was a good run, nice and easy. I
had to take it easy, as I was running on a "musical sidewalk" (it was covered by a thick layer of ice requiring you to "c-sharp", else you would "b-flat"

). I survived the sidewalk on the run, but managed to slip and fall as I stepped onto the final 50ft of sidewalk leading to my apartment building.

uch: It was about 23degrees out, yet I managed to break a sweat. I'm not sure if I'm ready to test running in sub-zero temps, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. lol
01-08 - Sore legs yesterday, so I decided to rest another day, as I'm just starting out again. 2mi in 18:10 today (again by analog watch). Until I get some warm running gear, my limit appears to be at about 10degrees, which was today's temp. Sweats almost weren't enough. I probably would have been in trouble if it was a longer run. The "musical sidewalk" got me again today at around 1.8mi, landing me right on the seat of my pants. Note to neighbors: either leave the snow, or clean up the #### ### # ## # ####### ### ##### ice
in addition to cleaning up the snow!

Cleaning up the snow and leaving an ice rink only makes the hockey players happy!
01-10 - Helped my BIL move today, so I didn't get a chance to run. Hopefully I can squeeze in a run tomorrow. Forecast this next week is for single digits, with a -2 for a high on Thursday (

), so I may have to

ttdcahc: (point to the down comforter and hot cocoa) and screw running for the near future. lol
01-12 - Helped my BIL again yesterday (missed football
AND 24 as well!

), so that blows that weekend. It's been snowing here all day, and supposed to be bitter cold for the next few days, so I may have to get creative in finding a way to run this week (how many times running up and down two flights of stairs equals a mile?

).
01-19 - Ah, the perfect week for the ptts-er.

Too freakin' cold last week, then I was sick all weekend. I had some errands to run today, so I did manage a 2mile walk (the wife wrecked the Fall50-mobile just before Christmas, and was out of town with our other car, so I was left with walking to get things done).
01-20 So I'm watching the Inauguration today. Obama begins his speech after taking the oath. A few seconds in...<bam!>...the screen blips out and goes to snow.

WTF, did a nuke just go off?!

The feed came back after a few seconds, but it was interesting there for a bit.

2mi in 18:30 today. It appears that a few of my neighbors took my advice and didn't shovel their sidewalks at all. :bastages:
01-22 2mi in 17:30.

Hamstrings ached a little, but I still managed to fly (by my standards). 8:30 first mile, with a 9:00 return trip (including a short walk break halfway back). Congrats to Chad, as he was part of a Guinness Book record-setting field at PF Chang's last week!
01-27 Another cold snap over the weekend, expected to end today. I started the 100 pushups routine instead. Day 1 of Week 3. :Ahnuld:
01-28 2mi in 17:40. I might have run a negative split, but given that I'm using an analog watch, I'll go with two equal 8:50's.
01-29 Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last! :andydufresne: Did pushups today, Day 2 of Week 3.
