I don't think you can modify the distance/time once you create the entries. Just delete and re-add them. Click the wrench icon when you're in the activity and it'll give you an option to delete.I completely botched today's workout on Strava. I already saved them and figured it'd be easy to delete and start over. I'm finding out that's either not the case or I'm just simplesoftball

). Ah-ha, the wrench - thank you. I'll lose 150' but I'd rather that than have a 12 1/2 hour 4 mile run.I don't think you can modify the distance/time once you create the entries. Just delete and re-add them. Click the wrench icon when you're in the activity and it'll give you an option to delete.
Yeah, that's the only way I know of - I've had to delete swims a few times when I forget to change miles to yards. 3,000 miles in an hour is a pretty good swim.Ah-ha, the wrench - thank you. I'll lose 150' but I'd rather that than have a 12 1/2 hour 4 mile run.![]()

HA! YES!Hell, the road between Silverton and Ouray scared me!
The road down from mosquito pass (13,200ft - among the highest navigable passes in north america) is one to drive if you have the chance someday...After watching the leaders come in I headed out to do a quick hike up and run back down the trail to Ice Lake just outside town. It started at 9,848' and climbed steadily up to over 12,000' at Ice Lake, a total of just over 8 miles in 3 1/2 hours - yes, slow going up here, even slower than I usually am! Unbelievable mountains and scenery.
From lake level
Hiked up a bit further to get a different angle
The creek leading away from the lake toward a waterfall
Pictures don't even do justice. I've been taking a bunch of GoPro video too, hopefully I can make something out of that when I get home. But I have at least 4 more days up here before I have to worry about heading back towards The Bay. Trip of a lifetime already, and I'm not quite half way through!
I don't love heights, so several hundred foot drops offs with no guardrails in places you can see the asphalt cracking was not that fun for me! I actually left the Ouray aid station before I really wanted to because there was no way I was doing that road in the dark. No question it's beautiful, although hard to appreciate while holding the steering wheel with a grip that would turn coal to diamonds.[icon] said:HA! YES!
The "million dollar highway".... silverton to ouray (CO 550) Is a legendary stretch of "highway" that everyone should drive at least once. We were going slow as hell in my jeep and the GF and I alternately freaked out at several spots along the way due to the sheer exposure of drops and turns.... some incredible wide open expanses that will stir even the most calloused soul. Simply one of the most beautiful areas of the country I've been to (Remote areas outside Moab UT being another).
Video from the drive of US 550 aka "Million Dollar HIghway" (Video does NOT do it justice)
No doubt... I think the GF and I almost ended a 12yr relationship at 3-4 points along that driveI don't love heights, so several hundred foot drops offs with no guardrails in places you can see the asphalt cracking was not that fun for me! Be fun to scream down that thing on the bike.I don't love heights, so several hundred foot drops offs with no guardrails in places you can see the asphalt cracking was not that fun for me! I researched this before my trip as well, and I wouldn't really worry about it. Mountain lions don't want anything to do with humans for the most part. There are a few in the Bay Area, and I always joke that I've never seen one but one has probably seen me. If you are lucky enough to ever see one act big (arms up and waving), back away, don't run (then they think you are prey). As for bears, it's only brown bears in CO (there are rumors of a few grizzlies still alive here, but none have been seen in years), and they don't tend to be very aggressive. Just make noise so that they know you're human, and back away. I do, on occasion when by myself in a remote area, let out a yell or a "hey bear". If there's one in the area that hears you it'll likely avoid you, and really the major risk is if you surprise one (particularly with cubs or a fresh kill).Awesome Duck. I'm 5 days away from seeing those mountains - can't wait.
I have a running in the mountains question. The place we are staying is at 9500 feet. So I am gonna chill for a couple of days before I run. I know there are bears in this area also.
How concerned do I need to be about bears, and for that matter, mountain lions. I will be running mainly on mountain roads, but do I need to be taking any precautions? Bring some bear spray, a big knife, anything?
Just have no idea on this sort of thing.

And don't watch "The Revenant" the night before heading out on your first mountain run.![]()
Enjoy!
Absolutely. Even by Duck's standards, that's an incredible photograph.Love that pic.
Yeah, I am running Chicago.
Yup. Right now I have penciled in the below. I doubt I do any more racing between now and then, unless a last minute race pops up where the conditions are too good to pass up. My marathon cycle starts 8/1!
Feel like I've made decent early summer progress pre-marathon training. Been emphasising my strength workouts in the gym and trying to improve my muscle to body fat ratio. Last year around this time I think I was overly worried about losing too much weight and I think I over ate. This year, I'm eating when I'm hungry and upping the protein and lowering the carbs slightly. It seems to be working on a bit lower mileage than last year. I've been in the mid 40's the past 4 weeks but feel pretty good that I'm ready to step it here soon.
Had a nice little run this morning. 150 SI @ 6AM and it didn't really effect me too much. Ran the first 8 @ 8:18(152) and then finished the run off strong with the last 2.21 @ 6:58(173) when the SI rose to 153. That's FAR ahead of where I was this time last year. I know it's early but I'm definitely getting siked thinking about Fall 16'.
Also, in other news, I agreed to pace the Rock n' Roll Virginia Beach this year to score a free bib. Crappy race but a good training run. I'm actually pacing the 92 minute group (7:01 pace). This should be interesting as this race routinely has a SI of 150+. Could get ugly.![]()
You're not the only one! Mainly it was just about scoring a free bib and 13.1 @ 7:01 should be close enough to MP to be a great training run. Last year, I ran RnR as my 14/12 @ MP & I struggled a bit with the conditions but averaged a 7:09(183)...ended up running my marathon and averaging a 7:10. So it seemed to be a pretty decent indicator of things to come.![]()
Curious how the pacing gig goes!
Do you have to carry a sign or anything? You're not the only one! Mainly it was just about scoring a free bib and 13.1 @ 7:01 should be close enough to MP to be a great training run. I'm a bit skeptical that I'm actually going to have many people to pace by the end of this thing though. Participation in this race has been waning lately and I'm not sure how many people need a 1:32 pacer. We shall see!
Good question! I should probably ask that. I do have a buddy that's pacing with me so if there is a sign, I imagine we can trade off. The worst part will be wearing the pacer singlet...have NEVER worn a shirt for this race. Too damn hot.Do you have to carry a sign or anything?
Tell them you want the Italian cut singlet to fit around your rippled body.Good question! I should probably ask that. See what you're missing @tri-man 47??!!@Ned one upped himself on the best route in the FFA. T bagging a horse.

August 28 - Rocket Man Olympic tri (thankfully my wife isn't holding it against me that this is on the same day as our 17th anniversary)what's everyone training for?
I don't have one. I'd still like to run a PR 10K but I'm kind of waiting out these hot months. I'm not motivated to run a half or full marathon this fall even though I plan to get in decent training mileage. (My plan still is to run a spring 17 marathon to re-qualify for Boston.)@Juxtatarot what is your goal race for the Fall?
:drool:Speaking of heights - managed to conquer my first 14er today! I tested the Hyundai Santa Fe rental car on a 40 minute drive that covered probably 15 miles - the roughest, (icon knows) jeep road I've ever been on. Thankful the tires and axles held up! I finally got out to where the Grouse Gulch aid station had been for Hardrock at just under 11K', mile 58.4 of the course in the clockwise direction, and prepared to head up to Handies Peak which is the highest point of the course at 14,048' up over about 5 miles. It was just up, up and up to a saddle at over 13,000', dropped down into a basin, and then another climb up to the peak. The trail was really steep in some sections, and rocky for most of it, even on the way back down it was tough to run. I'm definitely improving my glissade technique sliding down loose gravel/rocks, and even snow in a couple of spots!
All in all, it took 5:21 with a few spots for pictures, eating, filtering water, and enjoying the views. Oh yeah, and catching my breath. 10.6 miles with 4,491' of climbing
Small lake on the way up
These mountains are just huge
Sloan Lake at 12,920'.  And this is where the climbing to the peak really began
The view looking back down at the trail
Ive spent a good bit of time in that area and have seen LOTS of wildlife (mountain goats, Marmot, elk, etc) but never a bear or mountain lion. How concerned do I need to be about bears, and for that matter, mountain lions. I will be running mainly on mountain roads, but do I need to be taking any precautions? Bring some bear spray, a big knife, anything?
I won't call anyone here stupid, but 170SI?hope you brought some electrolytes.
For me:what's everyone training for?
damn Daniel. What's your plan for racing these? Especially CHOO / Louisville. Two weeks seems an extremely short amount of time if you're going all out on both. I've known people to do it, Maryland/Chattanooga was a week apart and people I met up with did both - they treated MD as practice for their A race. For me:
IM Chattanooga 9/25
IM Louisville 10/9
IM Florida 11/5
I am taking another shot at a marathon. I am signed up for Houston in January. I will likely run the local half here in town in early December if I am healthy. If all goes well I have a weekend in mid November without a football game and I might try to run a half or even a full if I am healthy. It's all about not getting injured. For that matter, what's everyone training for?
I plan on racing Choo/Florida, and finishing Louisville. I added Louisville last week between Choo/Florida as I'll be all trained up (mostly), might as well use the fitness and add another race on the quest to 12. I'm going to be in Mexico the week after Choo, so I'll use that as recovery, then plan on a quick week turnaround to roll into Louisville.damn Daniel. What's your plan for racing these? I almost forgot about this magic number.I plan on racing Choo/Florida, and finishing Louisville. That'd be a fantastic number to achieve in an Ironman!!I almost forgot about this magic number.
I don't use anything, but honestly, the natural adrenaline that starts pumping before a workout is enough for me. I work out in the morning, and even when I wake up tired, once I start gearing up for that workout, my energy level rises. Keep a log of your training ...it helps to know you'll be adding another workout to the books. Sorry I don't have any magic bullet for ya!Guys, trying to get back in shape and in a routine but struggle for energy after long days etc. Any safe supplements you all us for a boost at gym/running?
Nah that helps to hear, just curious if there is anything out there that isn't horrible for you.I don't use anything, but honestly, the natural adrenaline that starts pumping before a workout is enough for me.
