On the bright side, you'll get a push for that last 10K! Good luck!Yeah the 22 mph wind should make miles 13-20 interesting. I've heard that there will be a 3 hour rabbit running to the 20 mile marker, hopefully his pacing and my pace band line up, it would be nice to get some wind protection from that group.
Sounds like a great idea. Unlike 99% of the board I'm not an attorney or IT magician, I have a very finite set of skills so jobs I'm most qualified for aren't plentiful. If any of you guys wanna hire me, just let me know. It's not like anyone moves TO the Toledo area for fun.Move South.

Go on ...after a summer of running after work and being unable to get back in my routine of running in the early morning, i've shaken off the excuses and started going out before work again the last couple weeks.
man, what a difference in..... everything. the runs aren't as loose and "high" quality. i'm more stiff
I've found that 18 weeks is too long for me; I get burned out mentally. I find 15-16 weeks a little more palatable.Going to stay lazy a bit longer then get started on an 18 week plan early Dec. Will decide around New Years and sign up for full barring any issues.
Also, a year goes by really fast when looking at it in 18 week chunks.
My preference is to have a 12 week cycle for the spring and a 18 week for a fall marathon. The rest of the year is base training to support those cycles. Also, a year goes by really fast when looking at it in 18 week chunks.
What's this now?For small time races that ask you to bring post race food, what would you bring that's easy?
Thinking about a few bags of salty chips or a community sized package of nuts. Maybe peanut butter and pretzels? Chinese noodles?
Flying monkey, race director emailed everyone a couple weeks ago asking for us to bring post race food to share. What's this now?
There is a local training group that does weekly beer-bucket runs - every one brings a beer to throw in a bucket of ice, and afterwards you can grab any beer you want. But haven't heard of the post-race potluck before.
I'd go with the peanut butter pretzels. I rarely get to eat peanut butter (daughter has severe allergies), but I volunteered at an aid station once that had those and probably ate my weight in those damned things.

When I was running my last half, at about mile 8 there was an aid station. Volunteers were there handing out water and gatorade. So I blurted out:For small time races that ask you to bring post race food, what would you bring that's easy?

There's nothing better. When I was running my last half, at about mile 8 there was an aid station. Volunteers were there handing out water and gatorade. So I blurted out:
"You have any bacon over there?"
Everyone, and I mean everyone...volunteers, racers, etc started laughing. But they had no bacon.
I said this because on every morning run I have ever been on for the last 4 years I smell someone making bacon in their kitchens as I run by. So I have always dreamed of just one person handing me a piece of bacon as I run by.
So the night before, fry up 3 or 4 pounds of bacon and put them in an aluminum pan, and then just bring that the next morning. You will be a foooooooking hero.
Interesting how Duck’s ‘reward’ for running 100 Miles is that he gets to run the home stretches on...pavement. #nemesisBooyah!![]()

now I remember the three way. I thought the same thing, but it’s a bug on their website. Just click the ‘sign up’ text in the bin tracking paragraph and it’ll take you to the text or email alerts.Bump for pbm's day.
Get you some @pbm107!
It doesn't appear we can track him. The Race Joy app won't work because he didn't sign himself up. And the website didn't put up the link to be able to track either.
If someone else can find it let us know.

Great race. It was fun watching your training cycle. Your busted your butt this cycle and it paid off with a great time in very tough conditions.pbm107 said:Thanks guys, I went for it today but didn’t have it. Starting working too hard around 19 and then marathons happen. Drinking now.
