Yeah, that 100% humidity is gonna be awesome.Ok.. coming around to the realization that we are going to get wet Saturday. But on the bright side, it's supposed to be about 50 degrees in the morning so it won't be a frozen rain!
I'm just praying my colon gets back on track. Been all over the place the last three weeks. Otherwise Saturday the Carmel run might literally be a carmel run.0300 alarm today.
Last night (in an attempt to prepare adequately), I ate early, lots of fibre, and got to bed early.
Woke up, fed the quadrupeds and attempted to vacate the gut with some success.
Normally in life having your colon on a precise clock is a benefit. Even when I'm abroad, I know when it's 0500 back home because my colon tells me.
It's not so good when you're trying to get an early run in before work. Sure as #### (no pun intended) despite my best efforts, 15km into my run today I had to stop at a Starbucks because it was 0500 and god forbid my colon hold off for 30 minutes from scheduled potty time.
Otherwise a good strength run. 4x3km MP-10 + 500m jog, with 3km bookends for WU/CD. First time over 20km since pre-Houston.
Funny how 0400 is going to feel like "sleeping-in" tomorrow.
I hope you enjoyed my poop-focused update this morning. Now you can go back to cadence and weather discussions.
ETA: Strava auto-titled my run this morning as a "night run". You know you're up way too ####### early when it does that.
Thinking positive thoughts. My issues are just a funny story, yours are the real deal. My wife has Crohn's and it's no joke. Good luck.I'm just praying my colon gets back on track. Been all over the place the last three weeks. Otherwise Saturday the Carmel run might literally be a carmel run.
Thanks. If I have to stop and take a dump, so be it. Just makes the race report that much more hilarious for the rest of you guys.Thinking positive thoughts. My issues are just a funny story, yours are the real deal. My wife has Crohn's and it's no joke. Good luck.
Huh? I ran this morning. I don't get it. Maybe this is another example of me being slow.
No room for poop commentary if my description is cluttered with all that data!@Zasada
Nice run today and all, but no weather listed by Klimat.....
So you're going to have to do it again.
Slow is not a word I would use to describe you.Huh? I ran this morning. I don't get it. Maybe this is another example of me being slow.
I am amped up and ready to go. Not sure what you mean this weather is made for me... if I am in charge of the weather, I am going to have it be like 50 and sunny. Maybe 45 but only because you guys have made me embrace the cold more than I ever have before. No 4:00 pacer for this race. Plan is to just keep the watch at avg pace of 9:00 and see what happens. Check the HR once in awhile.
Getting antsy now.
Just about iguanas living in rainforests. Not sure what you mean this weather is made for me...

Eastern time, though currently EDT to be accurate. So Chief is trying to run sub 4, grue and juxt pr (something between 2:55 and 2:59?), and I know iguana posted his goal (1:45?) but I forget. Is Carmel on est and cst? I saw it starts at 8 am.
Just trying to mentally prepare when to check-in Saturday morning as I'll be alternating between appointments and my own workouts.
Yes this. I will try to be funnier next time Juxt.Slow is not a word I would use to describe you.
@bushdocda was joking that you don't know what a "no run morning" is because you never have one.
Tried to figure out cadence on my strava but I don't think you can do it without running the app while you run. I usually just sync my watch to strava after my run.Back to our regularly scheduled cadence talk:
This is an excellent article.
Not just cadence, but discusses heel striking (how it's ok) and overstriding (how it's not ok) and how it's ok to be different but to be aware of these things.
Which watch are you using (I couldn't tell precisely from your Strava logs)? It might be a setting you have to change in your watch or software. Most watches count steps these days so it might be there and just need to be told to send the data to Strava.Tried to figure out cadence on my strava but I don't think you can do it without running the app while you run. For my trail running I use the X Ultra 3 GTX and really like them. They're categorized as a "hiking" shoe, but still reasonably light and I like the added protection they provide versus the Speedtrack line.Any experience with Salomon running shoes? Strava hooked me on a challenge with a discount code so now considering the RA Pro 2s. Will try to find locally, looks like REI might stock them.

I saw where you guys joined that and got the same discount. I have a pair of the Solomon Speedcross 3 trail running shoes (think that is the correct model). I used them for a couple of "Tough Mudders" I did before as well as just doing some trail runs. Then I also used them as a substitute for cleats in a couple of rec league sports (softball, flag football, etc). I like them quite a bit. But I have no info on any of the road shoes.Any experience with Salomon running shoes? Strava hooked me on a challenge with a discount code so now considering the RA Pro 2s. Edit - sorry this post contains no weather, cadence or #### commentary.
I guess my A goal is to break 2:55 which is 6:40 pace. B goal would be to PR which would be below 2:56:51. C goal is to not quit.So Chief is trying to run sub 4, grue and juxt pr (something between 2:55 and 2:59?), and I know iguana posted his goal (1:45?) but I forget. Is Carmel on est and cst? Sounds good. But I don't want to run very far. Just a mile at most.Group neurostim jog in the rain from the hotel at 5am?
It's gonna be lightning at 5:00 AM.Group neurostim jog in the rain from the hotel at 5am?
Yes.Anyone else's Strava feed blank with none of the people you follow showing up?
7.5 miles into my 9 miler I had to stop at McDonalds.15km into my run today I had to stop at a Starbucks
4 miles into my run yesterday at my daughter's soccer practice I had to stop at a construction site port-a-potty at the community college adjacent to the soccer field.7.5 miles into my 9 miler I had to stop at McDonalds.![]()
It all starts in the belly.I'm not sure if poop talk is better or worse than bellyaching about the weather.

I really hope that pre-run evacuation is all I got left inside of me for the day.I'm not sure if poop talk is better or worse than bellyaching about the weather.
