Ran a 10k - Official Thread (8 Viewers)

@The Iguana in at 3:45:58!!!

Today, there are no pooosaaays anywhere to be found here.

Congrats, Iggy!  You're a marathoner now and you showed all of us how the first one should be done.  You #BeatZasada, #BeatChiefD, and many others here.  Well done.

Just need to check the precise #BeatGrue time!

@SayWhat? and @BassNBrew, get thee to Ultrasignup and register for the WS100 lottery.  Let's get at least one of us in and have a party in Squaw the last weekend in June.

@Zasada, looking forward to you joining the lottery party next year after you nail Miwok.

Thanks for the support guys.  What a wonderful experience. This is a magnificent marathon.

The wind was pretty tough last 5k.  But I battled hard the last stretch as you’ll see in my paces.

I’ll post RR likely tonight....I’ll try to do it on the flight home.

However, for now shower, burgers, beers on tap.

Thanks for all your support. It means a lot.

You did more than battle hard, you came in way faster than the app had you predicted.  Can't wait to see the detail on your Strava.  That was some serious #BMFery.

There's something strangely masochistic about the reward for one race being the chance to get into another one...

I read Koop's Training Essentials for Ultrarunning.  Can you refer me to a five-month training plan for one's first 100K?  :oldunsure:

I wish I could bottle-up some of this excitement/energy I have for racing right now and use it next week and in May.  Based on all the PRs today, I feel like I could take on the world.

@gruecd@SteelCurtain, @MAC_32, @-OZ-, & @The Iguana -- thanks for letting me share in your kick-### day.  Your achievements are incredible!

If you want a pre-made plan, check our Hal Koerner’s book. But if you’ve read Koop’s book then you have what you need to build out your own, which is what I did in 2017 for States. I’ll try and find mine from that year and share it with you, it would apply for a 100K equally well since I’ve never been a high mileage guy (I’m too slow and it would take too long to be high mileage!)

Dude, aren't you tired?

I bet you're typing this with your feet, aren't you twinkle toes?
I've never felt like this after a race. I feel fine. I couldnt have gone any faster, when I was trying to chase 3rd place down the final quarter mile I felt light headed and wanted to vomit so I achieved mHR. But, 3 hours later. Hell, less than an hour later. Fine. Oddly refreshing.

Will catch up on all this in a bit but first this... I didn't click save on my watch at the end and may have lost the run. If it's not on strava, it doesn't count.

:kicksrock:

quick Google search says I might be able to recover it.  Might cry if I can't...

You get the exemption where a finish screenshot and manual entry will count. Great job, enjoy the day!  Wishing you recovery of the stravarun and your legs.
