Random movie "aha" moment (1 Viewer)

Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green in "My Stepmother is an Alien".

Terribly bad movie btw.

Saw a rerun of Can't Buy Me Love and Seth Green is the kid brother. Couldn't tell at first. He's been in a million movies.
Amazing, I would have never known by watching the movie.
They had the people that do the voices for Family Guy on "Insdie The Actor's Studio" and when the focus turned on Seth Green, and his acting history, they showed a picture of him from when he was about that age. I realized he was the little brother from some romantic comedy from around then, but I just couldn't peg which one.

Tim Robbins was a fighter pilot in Top Gun. Don't remember if he had flying scenes but he was in classroom scenes.
He was with Tom Cruise when they fight the MIGs in the climactic scene...believe he was Merlin or something like that

I always thought that Brian Doyle Murray (Caddy Manager, Mayor in groundhog day) was lucky that Bill Murray got him into Caddyshack, then I realized that Brian Doyle Murray wrote it.
What's that sign say?
I bet that if Bill didn't, Brian Doyle would have just smacked his little brother or complained to mom and dad!!!Another that I caught from reading this today was that Christopher Penn (brother of Sean and Michael (Husband of Aimee Mann)) was the friend of Kevin Bacon in Footloose, and he was the guy selling C4 to Chris Tucker in beginning of Rush Hour and then had the car explode.

Here's one for you. Every wonder what happened to Ralphie? After A Christmas Story he did a bunch of crappy movies and some TV shows and then he sort of disappeared for a while He played the Elf Buddy in Elf but what is really nutty is that he was the executive producer of Iron Man, Four Chrstimases, The Break Up, Zathura (co produced that one). They guy is swimming in it...

More importantly, what happned to Flick?

Dunno, but Scutt Farkas went on to play Titus' little brother on the show Titus.... Even better. Go back and watch Slapshot. The Hanrahan's wife that Reg hooks up with who says she's been sleeping with women is none other than Ralphie's mom. Frontal nudity from Ralphie's mom...Seriously though, who would've thought that little Ralphie would turn out to be a major player in Hollywood...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0152310/And a couple of others. He was the more well known kid in that movie due to his work in The Toy.....

I luckily have noticed some of these posted, like Seth Green and the whole Peter Billingsley stuff.

But the David Lee ROth blew my mind

Just noticed that one of Eddie Murphy's cellmates at the beginning of "Trading Places" is Giancarlo Esposito (i.e, "Agent Giardello from Homicide: Life On The Street", "the FBI agent from The Usual Suspects", and "Muhammad Ali's dad in Ali").

This one is kinda weird but I was flipping through channels and saw Fast and the Furious, Tokyo Drift and i knew the guy's voice sounded so familiar. I finally figured out he was the country little kid in Sling Blade.

Was watching The Graduate this weekend, and Richard Dreyfuss is one of the college guys in the boarding house in Berkeley where Dustin Hoffman stays before finding Elaine. Mr. Roper was also the landlord at the boarding house.

Yeah, he was one of the ballplayers on Friday Night Lights as well.

When Ted Levine's character in Heat is killed, when the police surprise De Niro and his crew following the bank robbery, he falls to the ground and dies in pretty much the exact position his Buffalo Bill character did in The Silence of the Lambs, with his arms and hands curled in the exact same way.

When catching some of Ghostbusters on television a while back, I realized that the actor who played the mayor is the same actor who played Tony Soprano's lawyer, Neil Mink, throughout the entire series.

After watching "Back to the Future" for the 20th time, I finally realized that the name on the sign at the shopping mall changed after Marty McFly returned from 1955 to 1985. 1985 before leaving for 1955: Twin Pines Mall1985 after returning from 1955: Lone Pine MallThis was because Marty drove over one of the two pines at Old Man Peobody's Farm with the DeLorean soon after arriving in 1955.
That's GREAT!!! I never noticed that....
I never did, either. Good catch!
I can't believe there is a single soul that grew up in the 80s that didn't know that.
It's also pretty funky that, in I think the second movie, the World Series winner in the sports almanac was Florida. The Florida Marlins did win it that year. The funkiest part is that there *was* no Florida baseball team in existence when the movie was made.

Actually, when he goes forward in time he goes to 2015, not 1997. And it says the Cubs won by sweeping Miami, not that "Florida" won.

I caught an episode of Star Trek Voyager tonight, "Blink of an Eye", with Daniel Dae Kim, Jin from Lost.
He also played Corporal Chang on "Star Trek: Enterprise".Also........Locke from "Lost" was the guy who played Riker's former commander (who wanted Riker to help him find the federation cloaking device). And Bernard from "Lost" was the hotel manager on TNG's "Casino Royale" episode. :nerd:

 I knew the first two, didn't know about Bernard in the "Casino Royale" episode.

The character named Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me bites a shark to death in a nod to the Jaws movie. It's something I didn't realize because I hadn't seen the Bond movie until the late 80's, and I never noted the chronology of the films.

Another troubling aspect to the production was the difficulty in obtaining a director. The producers approached Steven Spielberg, who was in post production of Jaws, but ultimately decided to wait to see 'how the fish picture turns out'...

... Jaws is shown ironically biting the shark to death, before swimming to freedom (to return in Moonraker).

Many Lost connections.Bernard was on an episode of Friends as well playing the doctor who loved Fonzi when Phoebe had her brother's babies.Locke has been in several things from Old School, to the Cutting Edge, to the West Wing.

Billy Zane was one of Biff's henchmen.

Just minutes ago I realized that Beth Garner in Basic Instinct is Barb on Big Love.

I actually had forgotten almost everything about this movie. There was one part I remembered really well.

I have seen Strange Brew many times in my life and never realized that the whole beginning of the movie is basically Hamlet. Elsinore Castle, girl's father dies, and mom quickly marries dead father's brother.

A couple from Christmas Vacation. I can't believe I never caught these.

When Eddie and Clark are drinking egg, they are drinking from Wally World moose head cups.

The whole girl by the pool fantasy is an homage to Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Oh, and Ellen is cupping Clark's crotch the whole time when the cops barged in their house.

The guy that played the cop with the dog in "Turner and Hooch" was the guy who played the Captain in "Saving Private Ryan".

Jeff Goldblum was one of the thugs in Death Wish.

Laurence Fishburne was one of the thugs in Death Wish II.

The guy that plays uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite played Lazlo, the closet dwelling hermit in Real Genius.
I just saw him in 'Taken'. He played a character that had nothing to do with anything...right along side the guy that played the glider pilot in Saving Private Ryan.

The entire movie is basically Hamlet, not just the beginning.
